I think that the DS sonic games are underrated due to being seen as spin-offs and graphically inferior to the sonic games on home consoles

Sonic lost world will always have a special place in my heart, no matter how many people tell me it's bad.
I'm with you King. That game is very fun for me! I enjoyed collecting all the red rings (expect from that level you're a snowball) and completing all the levels. The parkour mechanic is something I would also want to make a comeback

Coolest idea Lost World had was regulating the boost to only Super Sonic. Wouldn’t mind that concept making a comeback in future games
Well before Rush 1 came out (1999-2004) they did that, but I do like that concept as well. The boost is so overpowered and would make Super Sonic feel even more powerful to use if it was exclusive to him again
@@UltraSTH I know I’m like a year late but what if they made it so boost was like drop dash for regular sonic and could be used to quickly get him back at high speeds and only available when he’s not already running and is starting up his run again then for super sonic it’s always like that.

Parkour system isn't too dumb either.
It is also a very optimized game, hardly ever dropping from 60 fps on the Wii U.
I don't usually care too much for going after Super Sonic in any of the games, but I think that idea would entice me much more.

@@unusualseeker4422 It's good as a part of a game and not a full game. It just doesn't seem like a special game like the original megadrive ones, the adventures, heroes and some of the boost games. Sonic 4 part 2 is good, but it's pretty generic and unnecessary
@@santihjusto Part 2 is a 5/10 from me. It presentation is MUCH better than part 1. The graphics in part 1 were INSULTING and even though part 2 was better, none of them live up to the classic titles.
As one of the 32 poeple who played Sonic Rush Adventure, I definitely recomend you play it, it was a big part of my childhood and I am a bit sad it does not get the recognition it deserves. (I still sing the title screen Song to this very day)
Plus: I actually Liked Sonic Lost World since launch day, shocking I know.

Rush Adventure was my childhood and almost my teenage years too, unfortunately my Nintendo DS was stolen with the game 3 years later. I only keep the box to this day as something valuable. Now I know a lot more about the Sonic Universe and I realize that this is indeed one of the games that gets the least attention. And I can proudly say that I got one of the few Sonic games that fulfills everything without fail. Good story, clean gameplay without bugs, excellent soundtrack, good villains, epic final boss, replayable. I was lucky.
@@golddigginboi2187 I'm playing Rush 1 right now and I don't understand how Rush Adventure is inferior in story. It's just different. Isn't it Marine's lack of charisma as a character? Because the same thing happened to me with Chip in Unleashed. They're irritating to be honest, but if you ignore them, everything is perfect. I totally agree with what you say. Rush Adventure beats Rush 1 in gameplay and is still a bit better than Colors DS in that aspect. But I can swear that Rush/Rush Adventure/Colors are a perfect Modern Sonic Trilogy.

Sonic heroes, despite anybody's opinion of the final product, had a lot of ptential and deserves a second chance... But please remove the "level up" system, or make it be like unleashe's. Collecting 9 thingys for an S rank is not fun.

The 3DS port of Sonic Lost World is really fun. It's also the only port of the game where you can unlock and play as Super Sonic.

Sonic P-06 is proof that sonic 06 CAN be a good game
Rush adventure is pretty fun, the main problem is you have to replay levels sometimes to grind for materials to unlock more levels

I think it's Sonic Unwiished, the secret 3D boost game, that has boost that feels really powerful, it shares good storyline with UnleasHeD and it doesn't have the biggest flaw of its big twin - medals.
LakeFeperd's fangames are also very good, enough to be official.
Tbh the boost in Unwiished (in the PS2 port at least) always felt a bit too slow, like, when you boost in the 3D sections it feels like you're not going fast at all, but that may just be me
I'd definitely recommend playing Sonic Rush Adventure! It's actually my most favorite Sonic Handheld Game. Lol, wonder if that makes it my hot take.
And also, as far as Unleashed, I do agree that it probably is underrated. I actually liked the game myself.

Sonic lost world on 3ds is so much fun. It even had multiplayer which is also great. Personally to me i think it’s underrated.
Sonic Lost World, and Sonic 4 Episode 2 are underrated
Regarding Sonic Rush Adventure. It totally depends on whether you like the jetski/submarine/ship/etc. segments, because the actual stages (level design) is pretty good and the visuals are good too, it just depends on whether you like/tolerate the vehicle segments enough to go after each stage and 100%.
You should play Sonic Rush Adventure. I honestly really like that game. I played the crap out of all of the Sonic Advance games back in the day, and I do the same thing with the Sonic Rush games, including Sonic Colors for DS. They are actually very good
The Sonic Rivals games are so unknown and underrated that even this dude didn't mention them.
@The Auditor Rivals 2 was retconned to not being canon because Metal Sonic dies in that game.

I’d say unleashed and 06 even though both of those games general consensus is changing now. Unleashed is just a great game designed very well, and 06 was so unfinished but had a great story and the glitches are really fun it’s honestly my favorite sonic game with SA1 coming as second

I guess my obligatory hot take is that I actually really like Sonic and the Secret rings. The story is silly but cute. The soundtrack is awesome. And it’s graphics are some of the most technically impressive on Wii. Which is saying a lot since it came out so early in the Wii’s lifespan. The motion controls aren’t broken, they’re specific. And yeah, Sonic starts off slow in the beginning, but you can level him up and customize his abilities to suit your play style. The Mario Party style mini games are janky, hardly work and are EXTREMELY tacked on. But, if nothing else they’re fun to laugh at while playing with friends. And having them there still adds to the overall replay value
I recently played the game again and actually beat it this time and honestly it’s a pretty good game once you level sonic up. The only real problems of the game being that you shouldn’t have to grind for the game to be fun and the controls could be confusing at times but it’s a solid game, I like it

I think Team Sonic Racing is underrated. It’s not necessarily an amazing 9 or 10/10 game but I think it does a lot of things right and I had a pretty fun time with it for the most part.

none of the sonic games are underrated, don't believe me then explain, how does each sonic game have lots of fans supporting it we cant just say this game is underrated and it has own fans/people supporting a game, and that's why each game is perfect in its own ways they may have its cons but all is loved.

THANK YOU, finally someone who thinks about Sonic Lost World. It’s so rare ever seeing this game talked about until they see mods about modern sonic being able to spindash or if someone plays that game. It’s honestly a game I loved to play and I still love Sonic Lost World to this day.

Sonic Lost world 3DS is pretty great... Until you play most of the dessert world stages, to me at least. After that it gets fun again. UnWiished is really good to me, just would like the graphics to resemble Colors' more and the Gia temples to look better.

My pick would be chronicles. It has second best story in the franchise, it has pretty fun gameplay loop. Only the 2dness of the overworld is bad, I really like/love the rest!

It's Sonic The Fighters. It's a good game that nobody bothers to learn playing. Just because you can spam your way through arcade mode doesn't mean an irl opponent would lose to you. There is a competitive community with a discord server that I'm in

@@SilverSpireZ Yeah, I'm currently playing through Expert Mode, and it's pretty fun! Getting all A ranks in this game felt rewarding, minus 2 or 3 bad missions (looking at you Mad Matrix Dark...), whereas I would rage quit Sonic Heroes every time I try to get an A rank for each stage.

i grew up with games like sonic rush, sonic rush Adventure, sonic colours ds, sonic generations 3ds and i enjoyed every of these games. The (3)ds games are underrated!
Sonic cd is pretty underrated
I personally am not a huge fan. It just didn't have the same feeling as Sonic 1, 2 and 3&Knuckles. The special stages were not as fun as the other ones, the time travel thing is sometimes frustrating and the bosses are a joke of how easy most of them are (Excluding metal sonic, obviously. That fight was awesome). Wacky workbench was one of the only levels I enjoyed because it had a frustrating mechanic that I personally love to hate.

In my opinion, that would also go to Sonic and the Black Knight, Colors DS and even S&SASR games.
I’d say my hot take is that I thought rise of lyric was actually pretty okay. I expected something drastically new from Sonic Boom and that’s what I got.
Sonic rush was actually my very first sonic game. It was practically my first ever video game. And even now years later it’s still one of my favorites just because of how fast it is and because of how great the music is.

I haven’t played Rush Adventure but I’ve heard its levels are way better than the ones from the first one (which I love) so yeah I’d recommend you play it.
The first level of lost world made a bad impression with the slow gameplay and weird homing attack physics (how the speed stops if you homing attack) but if you get used to it its so much better, they nailed it with the spindash and level designs + sonic ost always a banger
Black Knight is the most underrated. Nobody really talks about, and those who do don't like it, but I like the sword gameplay, and the story in it.

I actually find it really cool that you talk about Sonic Lost World being the most underrated game out the core series. It really has a good gameplay that still holds up to this day, and a soundtrack fit of the Sonic Franchise. Though the level design and certain design choices are on the weaker side, the game is a lot more fun than what people give it credit for(Idk why they didn't keep the chain homing attack in future games, it was so cool but not OP :/), and a great transition to other platformers when you either want to slow down to Mario Galaxy, or speed up to a usual Sonic game.

I think there are some things people like to complain that aren't a big deal, the more dark tone was fine, but it kinda started to destroy Shadow as a character and threw his development in SA2 and Heroes in the garbage. At least 06 got him right, but after 06 he was destroyed once again

-The same guy that saved the earth by sacrificing himself and saving Rouge as an instinct after awakening became the "pAtHeTiC hUmAnS" kind of edgy character.
-Shadow wasn't even edgy, his fur was black so people would feel like he is a villain, but he is actually one the best heroes. But nope, Edgy the hedgehog now.
-Why does he act like he doesn't care for Sonic and think of him as an inferior? Wasn't Shadow happy to be Sonic's rival on SA2 and even heroes when they met in frog forest?
-In SA2 he started a friend relationship with Rouge and in Heroes with both Rouge and Omega, so why in his game he acted like they were only there to help him reach his goals?
-"My past, my past, truth about my past". Stfu Shadow, didn't you get over that in Heroes?

The one that is the most underrated, is the one that is going to get remastered and finally available on Xbox & Sony & Switch this year; Sonic Colors, which originally was a Wii exclusive for 2010, and now getting released to the max for Sonic's 30th anniversary!!
I wouldn't say Sonic Colors is underrated. People still love it to this day, even since it came out in 2010.

I replayed Forces a couple days ago and am terrified by how much fun I had doing so.
Finally, someone else who thinks that the Wii U version of Sonic Lost World is actually pretty good. I always used the spin dash feature in the game to dart around as fast as I possibly could throughout each of the stages where ever it was possible to do so and I actually had a lot of fun with the game overall, minor flaws and occasional frustrations aside.
People like to throw around the terms "underrated" and "overrated" without doing the research.
Edit: Sonic Rush Adventure is my favorite handheld Sonic game with Sonic Colors DS as a runner up and Sonic Advance 3 taking 3rd place

Triple Trouble is one of my favorite Sonic games, and it is underrated. It is constantly rated below other games. It's a fun game, it has that classic formula to it. It has all new stages and some pretty good music, stage design, and exploration. Triple Trouble must have been pretty impressive for a handheld game that came out in 1994, compared to the Game Boy.

I think SegaSonic The Hedgehog is the most criminally underrated game, I think this is the only game where Eggman actually DOES and TRIES to FLAT OUT kill Sonic ( also Mighty & Ray too) by putting him (Them) against literally everything on Eggman Island. Sonic Lost World is my favorite Sonic game. It's not necessarily a good Sonic game but it's a great platformer. The story of why I like the game is very extensive, but that's how you say it. I played sonic unleashed a long time ago and hated it but I had to come back and loved it, its the nostalgia.

The Sonic Rivals games, specifically Sonic Rivals 2, is extremely underrated. I strongly feel this way because that game was one of the main reasons why I got into this franchise, along with Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Riders (which is also Underrated imo).
Ive never played rivals but it seems fun.

I don't know what people are talking about. Unleashed was a fantastic game. Those daytime stages are untouchable till this day. Yes the warehog was the only thing holding it back from it's full potential but that portion does not make the game bad.
