Finally, I found a great video and a person with great instructions! Oh, you can put a shop rag or towel in the gap under the threaded cap to prevent the cap from falling into oblivion! Lol
When I worked on aircraft, I used shop rags to fill the void between the airframe and remove the parts needed to be changed out! Life saver, my friend.

Thanks! Brake light just went out on my 2018 Focus so turned to UA-cam to save me some time. Great instructions and particularly liked the comment to be careful and not accidentally drop the plastic wing nut when removing it. Very sage and thoughtful advice.

So, I went home, looked on UA-cam, found your video, and I replaced my brake bulb on my 2017 Ford Focus SE! If I can do this(a 60 year old grandm), then anyone can! 😁

This is different on my 2018 RS .. how did you get to the upper lock? the 2018 RS does not have any of those holes .. looks like I have to remove most of the back paneling to remove the light assembly ..

Those are called pliers..but U wont need rm, as Both the plastic nuts that secure the lens are easily removed by hand..as designed.
with smaller hands yeah it would work like it was designed. My hand didn’t fit in there
