She is vocal royalty, thank you for doing this. Lovely to hear her crystal clear, beautiful voice. The power and clarity up higher in her chest is so gorgeous.
@@user-td6fq7or8d I feel you on that because her pronunciation has never annoyed me in any way. But I have heard that back before her first album and she became a solo artist she was told by people in the industry that she didn’t have the voice or tone to be a big selling solo artist. I honestly prefer listening to Anita Baker over many, many other more widely and highly praised vocalists. Anita just serves my every want in a voice. She has all the lower range I could want from a female singer and her upper chest is amazing to me, when she belts out notes they are MAGIC!
One of the most underappreciated vocals in music of any genre. Why her name isn't mentioned with Gladys Knight and Aretha Franklin is beyond me? Probably because she doesn't have quite the history with them and didn't have as many hits that charted but this woman is an icon.
Her haunting tones sliding through rifts effortlessly is so beautiful that it moves the listener with or without your permission. Few singing voices do this. Great talent who loved Sarah Vaughn with similar style. Anita copied Sarah but she added her own style and resulted in a unique sound.
La reina
❤❤❤❤❤She just glide through her words like butter

she has multiple albums as solo artist (beyond many duets and earlier group). Rapture is a masterpiece, but so many great songs on ALL of her albums.

Wow. You should check out her live performance of Fairytales, I believe it was at an auto show. She was absolutely mesmerizing!!
