    Bringing the hoop down from lasso is one part of a trick called the Corkscrew. The other part is bringing it up from your waist. There are a bunch of Corkscrew tutorials on UA-cam, and it's very likely that she's already done a tutorial because it's a very basic trick. Look around on her channel and see if you find anything.

    Thank you for this, Deanne! How do you bring the hoop up to your chest? I can't do it without bringing my arms inside the hoop. But you just did it so easily without using your arms!

    Do you happen to have a tutorial for transitioning between horizontal hooping and vertical hooping? That's where I'm stuck!

    • @ziehamrick3500
      @ziehamrick3500 9 років тому

      It's sort of awkward but if you're hooping horizontally start jumping and bend over. It'll start going crooked and eventually get vertical. I don't know how to go back to horizontal I just kind of half barrel roll and stand up and take it off my body with my hand

    make sure you listen to Deanne about making sure to keep your body in check. I watched this after I tried it and had a back ache for 2 days!! be careful! felt like I pulled a muscle. also, make sure to stretch before every hula hoop practice.

    I cannot do this for the life of me. I've been hooping for about 6 months and I'm deciding to give it a go again. Is having a booty required? That just might be my problem.

    Could you possibly do a tutorial on how to bring the hoop down from the lasso? I can only bring it down by bringing it to a helicopter but I have to stop so I can put it back on, and it messes up my performance.

  • @chelseah4787
    @chelseah4787 11 років тому

    And what I mean by bring it down is bring it back down to your waist. Sorry If I confused you!

    Wow... Thank you so much D:. Every other tutorial has said to do "cat back" "cow back" And I thought I was just an unfortunate girl who can't pop her butt... XD This makes much more sense to me, since my backwards leaning parallel hooping acts the same way, with a center pulse from my stomach, and feet pointing forward. :3

  • @UnhelpfulFaerie
    @UnhelpfulFaerie 11 років тому

    My hoop either travels down my back and smacks into my knees, or tilts sideways until it falls down. I've got my backward waist angle and I'm pretty good at keeping my feet planted and pushing through both legs, but I can't get it to work with this trick. Do you have any tips or advice?

    My hoop keeps going up to my neck. I keep looking in the mirror and keeping straight and balanced and without even trying it keeps flowing forward. How do I fix this because it has been weeks.

    Hello Deanne! I have been trying the booty bump the past couple of days and it keeps going side ways, i cannot keep it spinning forward. It will stay facing forward for a few seconds then end up side ways hitting my knees, any tips?

    Why does my hoop go sideways while vertical hooping? I can get it started perfectly, but after about 5 seconds, my hoop is sideways. It's still vertical, but sideways and I have to turn my body to get back on the same plane, but then it gets sideways again. I end up in a constant cycle of chasing my hoop! Anyone have advice?

    • @DeanneLove
      @DeanneLove  10 років тому +1

      Yes this is common, try not to chase your hoop. Your hoop will tilt or run away if your pushes are not super balanced. Because are bodies are not balanced this move can be a challenge. If your hoop is tilting to the right try slightly steering your body and pushes around to the left, instead of chasing push back. It can also happen when our body movement is uneven like the movment from the hips or the legs/knees. Try videoing yourself and watchign what your body is doing.

      The same thing was happening to me. I noticed that my shoulders weren't aligned. I tend to favor my right shoulder when I'm vertical hooping and it throws me off everytime. Once I relaxed and let the tension out of my shoulder I noticed the hoop stayed in the vertical plane.

    • @erinrenee4851
      @erinrenee4851 9 років тому

      Deanne Love I can't tell you how excited I am to find this conversation! Vertical shoulder hooping has been a real struggle because I find myself chasing the hoop! It's been very discouraging. If it seems to be common, I feel a lot better about it and I'll just keep at it!
