My favorite thing about this is how modular it feels. It's got the old-school "anyone can write a verse" feel. The song will just keep growing as more bards and minstrels play it and more listeners enjoy it.

What an absolutely legendary day we had started with the news of Baldur's Gate winning game of the year, best multiplayer, best rpg, best community support and with Neil Newbon winning best performance and ended with another fantastic collab with Jonathan Young, Annapantsu, Caleb Hyles and Cami-Cat, Sponsored by Larian Studios. Basically, the song consists of some anecdotes from the game.
- Auntie Ethel is a hag, basically a child eating fairy tale witch. The tadpole is a thing that mind flayers (spacefaring squid people) use to reproduce by transforming other creatures into new mind flayers. The protagonist is infected with such a tadpole. Ethel offers to take it out for the price of an eye, but it doesn't work. The part about the "unborn child supply" is a bit more sinister. Hags reproduce by consuming newborn children and giving birth to a new hag afterwards. In the game, Ethel holds a pregnant woman hostage. She doesn't take kindly to freeing her.
- Raphael is a cambion, a half-devil and part of the hellish hierarchy. He too offers to take care of the tadpole problem. As a devil, he naturally excepts your soul in return. The house of hope is just the name of his domain in the nine hells.
- The third part is about Halsin, archdruid of the emerald grove. Druids can transform into animals in the game, and Halsin's prefered form is that of a bear. And yes, you can have some fun with that guy. There is even one... spicy scene with him turning into a bear at some point. The vampire boyfriend on the other hand refers to one of the standard companions: Astarion, a vampire spawn (basically a lower-class vampire). And yes, you can arrange a throuple situation with these two. Not to mention that Astarion was used in promotional material for the game and was shown in the mentioned beary intimate scene with Halsin.
- The part about Elminster is quite simple. Elminster is a very powerful and old wizard who likes to sound like to speak in a way that only intellectuals understand.
- Withers is a very special undead who accompanies the party on their journey (and likely an avatar of the god Jergal, scribe of the dead). He can revive characters that die during the journey, but takes some money in return.
