- This song is titled Fight Back by the Nwobhm band Ethel The Frog. I believe the name was taken from a Monty Python skit. I am also not sure about this, but I do believe this song was featured on the 1980 Metal For Muthas.
Sorry for the production.EMI were tight B*astards and wouldn't pay for us to go down to a Decent Studio so they used our demos!!!

Thanks for the music, mate!!!
Sounds ok to me m8. Brilliant song. Did you ever make any albums??
There's nothing wrong with the production at all, it's got bags of energy. Your gig with The Void at that place behind Hull Tech college was the first gig I ever went to (aged 17). I loved it.
Fanatastic song takes me back to 1980 the great days of NWOBHM!!!!!
killer metal track from underrated nwobhm band who only one album from hull england ethal the frog. the whole world should fight back, i always fight back. #nwobhmforever
One of the best and underrated NWOBHM-Acts ever ! Great stuff !
Just discovered this song. Love it...even the old school production.
I ♥ this song from the moment I heard it. I really like the lyrics and message and could totally relate to what they are saying. Gawd, I gotta live up to my potential !
And you are right, twas on said album, which I had when I was a wee heavy metal rocker! Superb stuff!
I like this song.
N.W.O.B.H.M. grows on you!! so give it more than 1 or 2 tries. to be honest i think most people that like it are mature/experienced metalheds, not all though.
Best times!!!
AMAZING AND NICE SONG!!!!!!
...holy shit my mind was totally blown
Djöfull var gaman þegar þeir spiluðu á Grand Rokk '77.. hef aldrei upplifað annað eins!!!
it's very rare and out of press. You could try on ebay. I've seen it on ebay austria a few months ago.
This was the best song on the LP by far. I bought it when it came out and really couldn't get into it. The production was also kind of canned sounding.
Yes it was. I still have the album. Not sure about the name, figured it was something British that I wouldn't understand anyway. But I've always enjoyed the song. Wonder whatever became of them?
It's a reference to a Monty Python sketch
Ah, did not know that. Thanks for sharing. Much appreciated. Come to think of it, I remember that sketch but didn't put them together.
The bass player now lectures at the University of Leicester in the School of Archaeology.
They just don´t convince me dude .-)
A great song but i cant find this record anywhere. Does anyone know where i can get it?
Was Monty Python around back then?
I know Paul lol
It's a great song but surely the real classic from MFM was Angel Witch - Baphomet!
@Abc78mj underrated? they´re just not so good dude .-)
@sirdarklust I've still got the original 2 LP's and i don't rate this song that much. Iron Maiden's, Angel Witch's, Sledgehammer's and Praying Mantis's songs were all better than this one. Plus many Hard Rock bands of that era had equally stupid names that didn't help progress their musical careers at all in the end.
