Yes, it’s a nice feeling to be putting things back together. Now that everything is clean, keep an eye on the shocks to see if they continue to leak. Obviously, all,that oil leaked out so you need to be sure you don’t have a bad leak there. If it’s minor it can be topped up occasionally.

Great job Henry. Keep up the good work. Chances are that the rear ones are also suffering from lack of maintenance.
I expect so, and when I tackle the rear I'm going to plan to tackle the rear rather than just 1 small aspect of it! What a lesson
