- Encouraged by his success in building the upholstered cigar chair in Season 15, Norm partners once again with furniture guru Norman Coley to build an oversized ottoman that today's decorators simply must have. Norm visits the semi-annual world famous Chapel Hill, North Carolina furniture market to select the model he will build in the New Yankee Workshop. While he is at it, he adds a leather-covered footstool to go with his cigar chair.

Oddly enough, I just came from watching the cigar chair build, so it was funny seeing it again but this time out in the showroom. I love the hand tooled treatment they did to the leather on the chair.

I know this is around 20 years old, but to be honest, you should’ve put the leather on first on the bottom first before the legs. It would’ve given you a cleaner finish.
These ottomans are beautiful, Norm! Thanks again for bringing this woodworking tradition back to UA-cam, even before Russ Morash retired, 3 months ago!

That is the worst project you done the quality is well below what I come to expect. Your upholstery skill were poor
Perhaps you could kindly enlighten those of us who are less knowledgeable than yourself about upholstery what Norm did wrong instead of leaving everyone to guess..
