Nothing but love for Big NORM!! He is the reason that I build custom cabinets, tables, and furniture!!! If you can't learn from NORM then this business is not for you❤
I love watching Norm build such great pieces of woodwork! I’m not a woodworker, but I just enjoy watching him build such great stuff. I have autism, and I enjoy building Lego sets. Any time I’m working on one, I always have an episode of the show in the background. Gives me feeling of building a piece of furniture
Being from Bermuda myself, I have made two identical Bermuda cedar chests on frames, one for my brother and sister-in-law, and one for myself. They have dovetailed corners, and as didn't have a lathe, the frames' legs are square in cross section but tapered. Bermuda cedar is a very durable wood which was used in house-construction and ship-building as well as furniture. HMS Pickle of the Royal Navy was a fast Bermuda cedar sloop which, in October, 1805, was sent from the RN fleet off Spain to England with dispatches of the victory over the combined French & Spanish fleets at Cape Trafalgar.
I met Norm Abram at the opening of Villager’s Hardware (anyone remember them??) in East Brunswick, NJ probably around 2002 or thereabouts. He was a very nice and friendly guy who spent a couple of hours and answered shopper’s questions. I was very happy to have met him as he was a master carpenter as well as a very humble man. PS. Villager’s Hardware was an experimental store that was owned by Home Depot and was a smaller version of a typical HD. They lasted a couple of years and the experiment was over.
It's so nice to be able to watch these again, and some for the first time due to life interference haha. What a nerve racking glue up! Norm made it look easy though.
@@seanadams3551 Hard to say. Any TV show is a collaboration. But Norm always pointed out the features of a project that made it interesting to him. Showed a real love and fascination to the craft.
Hey Norm! Didn't you build a Hoosier Bakers Cabinet? I thought you did. If you did I'd like to see that sometime. I've been watching your video's over and over since the original series was aired. Thanks
Norm took two days to build most projects, but it was a Monday and Wednesday so there was always a full day in between. Tuesday and Thursday he was at This Old House.
Same thing we talked about the other day. Maybe he forgot that he called me not sure. But he really really appreciated what you guys did for him. He couldn't say enough about it.

That is a really nice Bermuda Chest. Great job Norm!
Norm really loved his biscuit joints. The man is a legend!

Norm had a knack for choosing projects that the average guy would love to have.
Did Norm build the projects himself or did Russ tell him what he'll be building each week?

What a great build and finish. Nice to see you use biscuits for the panels instead of domino’s. I wasn’t sure what to buy :-)
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👻 Thank you Norm A.
Sarah n Tuned watches these great vids when she is not saving cats and Partying with Liz.
Lucky the Yankee work shop is flipping the bill for this !

Norm built a Pie Safe and a Bake Center 😀
Norm, that mahogany finish looks beautiful on this chest! I'm gonna see for myself, what the great Bermuda onion looks like on Google images!
12:53 -- Interesting transition. I wonder how many hours it took to make that when the episode was edited together.

April 2005🎉
Gorgeous chest. If you had the money you could even make the chest taller and put in sliding shelves.

St. George’s, not St. George. Damn colonials!
