I have a Mexican player Stratocaster that I bought last year and it’s an amazing guitar! I plan to keep it the rest of my life since it’s my first strat.

I also will keep my strat for the rest of my life. The second guitar I owned and the first when I realised it’s just what I needed. It’s a Japanese strat copy, that costs like Mexican and plays not worse. I also already switched the electronics for 2 pots and it’s lost in price a little bit, so it’s another reason to never sell it

Easy one of the best teachers on you tube and probably the best guitarist. Love your selection ( usually) your guitars ( especially the Tele and Les Paul) and really like whatever overdrive you’re using. So glad I found the James James site. Was sorry to see the other go, but loved that too

When I first started playing and taking lessons, the owner of the shop who was also a heavy guitar dealer said to me “if you want the best sounding acoustic guitar, get an early 80s Westerly Guild D55.” I got one and it was THEE best acoustic I’ve ever had. I sold it and still regret it. Best guitars ever. Great collection.

I love the ending: "hopefully it doesn't change much", translation: I may have a problem! 🤣 Yea, likewise. Realized I had 27 stringed instruments (mostly guitars) and decided that was a bit excessive. I can't bring myself to dump more than maybe 2 of them tops...... but I can name 5 I don't have that I want pretty fast! 🤠

The most treasured guitars in my studio were owned or given to me by my father or brother. Gibson, Fender, and Martin. Plus his first guitar which was a Yamaha Red Label. My first guitar was a Silvertone black and white with a Kay amp. My brother liked country. He called rock "White Rabbit" music. I would like to hear more about your brother. He had an interesting taste in guitars.

If you're up for offering an opinion, which LP type guitar would you hold onto if you were limited to one? I'm looking to pick up something in that format in the not too distant future. I own several very nice acoustics(two Goodalls and a Gibson custom shop) and it's time to focus on the electrics. I have an older Parker Fly which is very versatile and a dream to play, but it doesn't do the LP thing. My tele certainly doesn't either. Obviously, if you're not up for giving an opinion, I understand completely.

My only Strat is one of the '57 reissues from the '90s that I bought new back then, which I like a lot. In fact, I've liked it so much over the years that it has needed a fret job pretty badly for a long time, and I'm probably going to get that done soon.
