Easy, straightforward, no bullshit. This guy is the best. And his cutting results looks extremely healthy unlike other self-proclaimed genuises videos.
I really like how he is so practical. No spending thousands and thousands of dollars to root plants or germinate seeds. No special rooms, grow lights, special trays on and on. This guy shows how fun easy and inexspensive rooting and growing plants can be. Excellent video. Keep up the excellent work.
So true, direct, and to the point, and without annoying music. I can easily follow these instructions, and I have plenty of plastic containers I have been saving for repurposing! Only have to get the green moss. Definitely a thumbs up/like.
Grow lights do come in as useful for some plants if you're somewhere that gets dark during winter months, or in a room that doesn't recieve direct sunlight. But you can still be relatively cheap with those, using "daylight" lamps instead of specialty lamps even if they're not quite as efficient for growing.
inexpensive if u work with plants in ur area or atleast plants compatible with ur area. expensive starts with tropical/subtropical plants in an cold area for example - weather, soil, light… gardening was never expensive if u keep ur hands just around plants for ur soil & climate zone 😉👍
Thank you! I've learned so much from your vlog my plants are thriving and I do cuttings now instead of buying more plants. Saves me so much money to use for planting soil and beautiful planters. Thank you being frugal is not being cheap it's being practical. 🙏❤❤❤❤🙏🌺🌻🌺
Dude, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!! Your video has solved my biggest problem in rooting cuttings, especially the first method with the green moss and plastic container.
Omg, you're giving away all your secrets! This could easily have been spread out to several videos. Thank you for so much information so concisely. I've been gardening for years but you taught me some things and also reminded me of methods I've heard of but not tried.
Such an excellent, simple, cheap & practical way of propagating plants !!!! You have explained it so well compared to some other videos that I have watched on propagation. Thank you kindly !!! Much appreciated.
Great video! I subscribed bc 1) you get straight to the point, no nonsense going on. 2) you stay on topic, and you’re thorough yet concise! 3) you have great ideas that many people can implement quickly and easily, with little to no money involved….and you even show us how we will get results with each method by not just talking about it, but you DO each one you speak of, then show us how to seal it, water it (and with what), and then show us the results after a few days. Amazing! Thank you got a great video!! I look forward to seeing more!☺️🌸🌱🌾🪴🎋🌻
In Australia green moss is called sphagnum moss & yes it's perfect for cuttings. I've grown roses, frangipani & zygo cactus easily using this medium. Great video & very well explained. Thank you.
Here in the States too, he might just might have peat moss on the brain which is definitely not what he is using...nice catch : D and definitely important for propagation.
Thank you so much! I have been trying to grow onions from seeds and not even one seed is propagating. The green moss secret is so valuable and thank you for sharing these secrets🪴. I have a rooting hormone and tried it once and it didn’t work and watching your video just made me realized that the bottom has to be planted without disturbing it so it makes sense to dig a small opening before planting it.
Great ideas!!! I have had so much difficulty starting plants from seeds and appreciate these "secret economical tips"!!! Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge:)

Wow this is totally amazing I never heard of green moss to start cuttings in I NEED to try this ASAP!! Thank you so much I love your videos so informative..
Best video on propagation I have seen so far. I usually propagate in water but when it comes to ivy plants it takes them four weeks just to begin growing tiny roots! And some of them don’t make it. I will definitely try this method with my next ivy cuttings.
You gained a subscriber after watching this concise video! Thank you sooo much! Anyone giving a thumbs down/dislike would probably kill a plastic plant! LOL!! Keep up the good work!!!
Brilliant! I was so torn with how to propagate my favorite fitonia, because water propagation will make fragile roots that may shock when put in soil and are so easy to rot, but soil propagation requires so much attention and has a high rate of failure. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom! I'm so excited to propagate my very first plant and share it with my close friends.
a tip I read the other day re water propagation - you can do water propagation and then a week before planting add a little soil to the water each day to prepare the plant
I propagate my Fittonia in a round cake container and lid (like a birthday cake from the store). I open it up every week or two and air it out a few minutes and give it a mist inside if needed. Only problem is they grow so fast and tall I frequently have to cut and prop again so they fit. 😂
Really great information! Thank you. I will be giving this a try this week with both the seed method and the cutting method. Looking forward to great results.
Great Tips on Cutting Propagation for newbie like me. I tried last year for the very first time but did not get success with Jasmin/Mogra cuttings with Garden soil and Rooting powder. I got initial success in cuttings, they had some little leaves but in 5th week, it got all dried out. Now I learn such a simple way from your very informative video, I will use this technic for Jasmin cuttings for sure. Really appreciate your video and knowledge sharing !!! Please post some video on Jasmin cuttings as well... Thank You So Much !
Quick question.. Does anybody know if the dehydrated moss that decoration stores sell is also Sphagnum moss? I always thought it was normal garden moss, which I believe has a much higher PH? Thanks to anyone that can help. Also, to the creator of this video - thanks for the information!
Thank you for making my new project so much easier! I was expecting to have to research how to use rooting hormone but here it is. Sincere appreciations for sharing.
I've got a fair amount of success propagating bougainvillea cuttings with a similar method to your #3; 6-8in cuttings about the diameter of a pencil, scar the bottom, apply rooting hormone, and plant nearly to the bottom of the cup/pot. With regards to leaves, you're right that they can make limited use out of them but it's also important to realize that they respire through their leaves and thus can lose a lot of moisture through them. What I typically do is leave maybe 3 or 4 leaves at most and any large leaves I'll actually just cut in half.
Green sphagnum peat moss: amzn.to/3cHqHEW Rooting hormone: amzn.to/3cBCmoZ Transparent humidity dome box: amzn.to/3twGu0p Stretch wrap: amzn.to/3qU15K2 Few days means 4-7 days. Watch your plants daily!

I’ve seen several of your videos and I have no idea why I haven’t already subscribed to your channel but I did so now. Thanks for all the tips you’ve given. I bet your garden is the best.
I bought some strawberries that came in the plastic container you show. I also used the mesh to a butterfly net for the bottom (I didn't want the soil to escape). I do have to mist the inside ever so often, but it's much more promising and much less maintenance. I'm definitely going to try the moss technique next. Great video! **Side note: I'm also happy to see someone being ..not rough, but definitely not gentle with the plants lol.

At one time I had been familiar with the use of containers for green houses but it had faded from my memory. Thanks for reminding me of this and for the tips on the soil mix.
I like your idea of wateing everything before you stick cuttings in. I've always just took the cutting dipped it in hormone and then water everything afterwards but that's probably taken off of that hormone when I do that. So your method makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the video, will definitely put it to work

I use the same big white container depicted in your video with a tight fitting lid = and the container is a brilliant solution. Once the lid is securely shut I do not open it again for six weeks = at which point all the cuttings should by then be thriving. I use fine gravel in the base of my large white container with a very tight fitting lid. Then each cutting is put into it's own individual PaperMache pot. Then I pack all the said paper mache pots very tight into the container. once the roots are well formed I am able to plant the plant still in the paper mache pot straight into the ground - that way the plant does not suffer any root disturbance and the paper mache pot slowly disintegrates in the ground.
Hello, thanks for the video. How do you determine which method to use for growing plants from stem cuttings? The green moss air tight green house vs planting them in potting soil directly in a cup? That was interesting about onion seeds being poor germinators unless they have the right conditions. It would explain my lack of success. Thank you!
Mine too!

In Australia, where can we get. Beetle leaves?
