I really like how he is so practical. No spending thousands and thousands of dollars to root plants or germinate seeds. No special rooms, grow lights, special trays on and on. This guy shows how fun easy and inexspensive rooting and growing plants can be. Excellent video. Keep up the excellent work.
So true, direct, and to the point, and without annoying music. I can easily follow these instructions, and I have plenty of plastic containers I have been saving for repurposing! Only have to get the green moss.
Definitely a thumbs up/like.
Grow lights do come in as useful for some plants if you're somewhere that gets dark during winter months, or in a room that doesn't recieve direct sunlight. But you can still be relatively cheap with those, using "daylight" lamps instead of specialty lamps even if they're not quite as efficient for growing.
inexpensive if u work with plants in ur area or atleast plants compatible with ur area.
expensive starts with tropical/subtropical plants in an cold area for example - weather, soil, light…
gardening was never expensive if u keep ur hands just around plants for ur
soil & climate zone 😉👍
Can we do this process in November in the Bay Area?
Ķkkĺl
Easy, straightforward, no bullshit. This guy is the best. And his cutting results looks extremely healthy unlike other self-proclaimed genuises videos.
Omg, you're giving away all your secrets! This could easily have been spread out to several videos. Thank you for so much information so concisely. I've been gardening for years but you taught me some things and also reminded me of methods I've heard of but not tried.
Good people share sparingly/ generously.
God Bless you brother
* these methods are no secret
Thank you brother, good hearted people always share
their knowledge, you are not after money 💰 but unconditional sharing. Bless you 🙏
Papers name pl note in ur video
In Australia green moss is called sphagnum moss & yes it's perfect for cuttings. I've grown roses, frangipani & zygo cactus easily using this medium. Great video & very well explained. Thank you.
I was wondering if it was sphagnum and asked earlier 🌿❤️🇦🇺
Not just Australia.
good to know! I had not heard of green moss but definitely have used sphagnum. 👍
Here in the States too, he might just might have peat moss on the brain which is definitely not what he is using...nice catch : D and definitely important for propagation.
How do u propogate woody. Plant like ackee nmang
Thank you! I've learned so much from your vlog my plants are thriving and I do cuttings now instead of buying more plants. Saves me so much money to use for planting soil and beautiful planters. Thank you being frugal is not being cheap it's being practical. 🙏❤❤❤❤🙏🌺🌻🌺
Such an excellent, simple, cheap & practical way of propagating plants !!!! You have explained it so well compared to some other videos that I have watched on propagation. Thank you kindly !!! Much appreciated.
Thank you! Happy Gardening!
Tremendous video, thank you! I've struggled with cuttings so much. I have been putting my cuttings in regular soil in seeding tray, no humidity, zero success. Now I know why, knowledge is power, thank you sir! Subbed
Dude, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!!
Your video has solved my biggest problem in rooting cuttings, especially the first method with the green moss and plastic container.
Awesome, that's great to know. Hope you're continuing to propagate more plants!
Thank you so much! I have been trying to grow onions from seeds and not even one seed is propagating. The green moss secret is so valuable and thank you for sharing these secrets🪴. I have a rooting hormone and tried it once and it didn’t work and watching your video just made me realized that the bottom has to be planted without disturbing it so it makes sense to dig a small opening before planting it.
Thank you for making my new project so much easier! I was expecting to have to research how to use rooting hormone but here it is. Sincere appreciations for sharing.
Great idea! You’re saving my cuttings and now I know how to get more plants! Thank you!
Great video! I subscribed bc 1) you get straight to the point, no nonsense going on. 2) you stay on topic, and you’re thorough yet concise! 3) you have great ideas that many people can implement quickly and easily, with little to no money involved….and you even show us how we will get results with each method by not just talking about it, but you DO each one you speak of, then show us how to seal it, water it (and with what), and then show us the results after a few days. Amazing! Thank you got a great video!! I look forward to seeing more!☺️🌸🌱🌾🪴🎋🌻
very nice
I am super grateful to you for this video. I know it had to have taken a lot of time and organizing to show us from beginning to end this process. Thank you.
I’ve seen several of your videos and I have no idea why I haven’t already subscribed to your channel but I did so now. Thanks for all the tips you’ve given. I bet your garden is the best.

The clippings in the beginning. There towards the end it was very good. Thank you!
Amazing! I can't wait to try the green moss for rooting cuttings this summer. Thank you so much for all the details and follow-up! These are great secrets to make propagation much less stressful! Subscribed!
yes, less stress for the cuttings and me!
Thank you for your time and knowledge, I appreciate you
Best video on propagation I have seen so far. I usually propagate in water but when it comes to ivy plants it takes them four weeks just to begin growing tiny roots! And some of them don’t make it. I will definitely try this method with my next ivy cuttings.
Love that you don’t need to tell me your life story and keep on the subject! Great inexpensive advice!
Love this video so much ..clear, concise, easy to understand.. no fuss no extra crap, just the facts 🙏🏼 thank youuu
Thanks so much. May God blessed you. Very excellent video presentation.
Finally, I’ve found a practical gardener in California! Thank you!

Thank you 🙏 I really enjoyed this video! Ready to start planting!
Thank you very much for your educational videos!! You're truly a much needed blessing 🤗
Thank you. I appreciate you letting me know how to do this.
That was interesting about onion seeds being poor germinators unless they have the right conditions. It would explain my lack of success. Thank you!
Mine too!
No the seed just in bad shape
In Australia, where can we get. Beetle leaves?
Excellent video. Love how he gets right to the point. Very informative.
You speak so clearly and concisely so that I can follow you easily.

Thank you, sir! You have explained this process so very well. We appreciate your talent.
Wonderful method. You are an excellent teacher! Thank you.
Wow! Thanks for sharing this information. The green moss that you refer to is also called Sphagnum moss.
Yes that is correct!
How do you propagate curry leaf from store bought cuttings?
Quick question.. Does anybody know if the dehydrated moss that decoration stores sell is also Sphagnum moss? I always thought it was normal garden moss, which I believe has a much higher PH? Thanks to anyone that can help. Also, to the creator of this video - thanks for the information!
@@Craig_Humphries I think it’s called Spanish Moss and I use it to stuff my dragon topiary . Worth a try. In my parks biodome.
@@Craig_Humphries waiting for your further updates
I just bought the moss. Thank you for leaving a link . Best video ever.
Thank you, what a learning experience it was for me. Thank you for sharing with the world.
I love rooting plants. Love to see more different plants that you can propagate.
thank you so much for sharing its greatly appreciated. i live in las vegas so i need all the help i can get.. thanks again for making this video🤘❤️
I've got a fair amount of success propagating bougainvillea cuttings with a similar method to your #3; 6-8in cuttings about the diameter of a pencil, scar the bottom, apply rooting hormone, and plant nearly to the bottom of the cup/pot. With regards to leaves, you're right that they can make limited use out of them but it's also important to realize that they respire through their leaves and thus can lose a lot of moisture through them. What I typically do is leave maybe 3 or 4 leaves at most and any large leaves I'll actually just cut in half.
You gave me valuable new insights for rooting plants.
Wow. Simple techniques that don't cost much. Amazing. thank you for sharing these ideas.
Amazing video! Thanks for taking the time to make such an easy to follow practical video 🙂
I was fully expecting the same old “tricks” that everyone knows.
So pleasantly surprised 💕 thanks!
Fantastic tips!! THANK YOU for taking the time to make this video and share your knowledge!! 😊👍👍
Wow, that's amazing that in two days you had so many roots on your cuttings!
Very well made video. No extra talk, just superb info and right to the point. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Wow I wasn’t aware of this! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

All great advice, thank you! I often get cuttings that have fallen at Home Depot etc. and this is a great way to create more and more plants for free! New friend here 💚🪴
Thank you! I will definitely try. Everything makes sense.
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you!
Simple and straight to point advice. 💪🏼
Thank you so much! I look forward to trying these techniques.
Thank you. This was the most clearly explained tips on propagating.
Glad it was helpful!
Simple and good one to follow!
This seems like this would be a fun experiment as well as being very practical for nearly all of us, young, old, and in between, to learn how to do.
One of the best Plant Cutting videos. Thank you. So clear and so easy.. Have done this method with so many cuttings.
Brilliant! I was so torn with how to propagate my favorite fitonia, because water propagation will make fragile roots that may shock when put in soil and are so easy to rot, but soil propagation requires so much attention and has a high rate of failure. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom! I'm so excited to propagate my very first plant and share it with my close friends.
a tip I read the other day re water propagation - you can do water propagation and then a week before planting add a little soil to the water each day to prepare the plant
@@liefjorgen what a brilliant idea. I’ll keep that in mind when my nodding violet which in in water right now grows roots. Thanks
I propagate my Fittonia in a round cake container and lid (like a birthday cake from the store). I open it up every week or two and air it out a few minutes and give it a mist inside if needed. Only problem is they grow so fast and tall I frequently have to cut and prop again so they fit. 😂
Thank you so much!
Thank y’all for your time and video
Love this video thanks so much !! Happy Gardening !!
Thank you for a very informative video n God bless you!!😇
Thank you SOOOO MUCH‼️
Thank you Sir for sharing! appreciate your hard work putting on all the videos
Thank you! Very helpful and much appreciated!!
Lovely.. Would be good to continue the process of placing the plants in the ground and its care.
Thank you.
Ill sure try the moss.
I even have some laying around
I appreciate your accent. It’s wonderful. Now to get propagating…
I like the easy simple approach to rooting plants. Good examples and well explained. 👍🏽
Love the info and how easily you lay it all out. The woody plant propagation is super helpful!!
I bought some strawberries that came in the plastic container you show. I also used the mesh to a butterfly net for the bottom (I didn't want the soil to escape).
I do have to mist the inside ever so often, but it's much more promising and much less maintenance.
I'm definitely going to try the moss technique next. Great video!
**Side note: I'm also happy to see someone being ..not rough, but definitely not gentle with the plants lol.
I've tried these containers also I just disinfect well because strawberries are so fungusy.
Thank you somuch, these looks so simple and promising.
Nailed it!
Never seen this channel, not likely to binge on it but the advice here was as good as most growers will find.
Try binging, you'll be pleasantly surprised :)
This stuff is known as Sphagnum Moss here in UK. Thanks for the video, great info.
Also very expensive!
Can we follow this for hard cuttings?
Keep these great videos coming my friend.
Fabulous demonstration! Great job!
Nice, easy, practical; thanks for sharing these tips!
Awesome video!!!! Super helpful, affordable, and I don't hear these tips often enough if ever! Great content, liked shared and subscribed, stoked to see more!
Great video. Straight to the point. No fluff. I will use these techniques. Thank you.
You are my new best friend. This will work with my roses! Subscribing. 👍🏻❤️
Very generous of you to share this useful and practical information. Thank you very much.
Very informative and to the point. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Appreciate that you do not have annoying background music.
I like to grow my sampaguita plant. The tiny white little flower smells so good. It's like a Jasmin with different variety. In the philippines... it's our national flower
You are Father Nature Sir! This is absolutely a game changer for everyone! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
At one time I had been familiar with the use of containers for green houses but it had faded from my memory. Thanks for reminding me of this and for the tips on the soil mix.
Thank you. Very informative!
Hello, thanks for the video. How do you determine which method to use for growing plants from stem cuttings? The green moss air tight green house vs planting them in potting soil directly in a cup? I am playing around with Jasmine plants, hibiscus and curry leaf plant cuttings and trying to find the best ways for rooting them. Thank you.
I like your idea of wateing everything before you stick cuttings in. I've always just took the cutting dipped it in hormone and then water everything afterwards but that's probably taken off of that hormone when I do that. So your method makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the video, will definitely put it to work
I agree, that's how I do it also but it makes sense to not water after the cutting with the hormone, is in the cup/pot.
Truly amazing, will do this as summer hits!
Love this technique! I'm doing this today..thank u!
Ivy will very quickly form roots in my experience.
the plant I did find difficult was a variegated ilex (Christmas holly) it took a few tries but the plant did "take" eventually and has been potted on twice since then,
if using a new white container then all is well.
the "green moss" you refer to is called Spagnum Moss in some areas.
The said "green moss" you refer to and use and you sometimes call "peat moss" is NOT the same as the more expensive "peat moss" - peat moss is dark brown.
BUT if using a recycled white container with a completely secure lid then the recycled container must be well washed, disinfected and wiped out thoroughly and dried well before using just in case the old container had any bacteria or mold spores that could harm the cuttings.
I use the same big white container depicted in your video with a tight fitting lid = and the container is a brilliant solution. Once the lid is securely shut I do not open it again for six weeks = at which point all the cuttings should by then be thriving.
I use fine gravel in the base of my large white container with a very tight fitting lid.
Then each cutting is put into it's own individual PaperMache pot. Then I pack all the said paper mache pots very tight into the container. once the roots are well formed I am able to plant the plant still in the paper mache pot straight into the ground - that way the plant does not suffer any root disturbance and the paper mache pot slowly disintegrates in the ground.
This is such a wonderful video! Thank you for sharing all of this knowledge. I can’t wait to try and propagate some cuttings...perhaps a fig. Also, how is Tesla doing? He must be huge!?
I also use moss best medium I also put my prop box on heatmat
the idea with using the bin as a green house is amazing :O definitely doing it! thank you!
This was an excellent video! I learned a lot! You are a great teacher and presenter! Thank you!!
