    Edit clarification: In the Benchmark section of the video the caption text listed the dGPU as A4000 but the Precision 7560 in this video was indeed configured with the RTX A3000 and the scores are for the RTX A3000 as per audio.

    You said it's configured with the A3000, but the passmark shows dGPU A4000? @ 12:21

      Sorry I should have proof read the caption when I edited the video text. The Precision 7560 in the video was configured with the A3000 and the benchmarks are A3000 scores. It was only the text on top (dGPU: A4000) is incorrect as I copied paste that text template and edited it from the Precision 7760 video to save me time on the editing @psycl0ptic, thanks for the pick up.

    Hi Bsian, I have a question for Precision 7560. Does this computer can use Thunderbolt 4 to Charge instead of using 180w Adapter?

    • @BsianTech
      @BsianTech  2 роки тому +1

      You can use the thunderbolt 4 to charge a little but it will not be able to keep up with the required 180W if you are in performance mode putting a lot of load on the system resources. If you just doing light load task (eg. surfing web) then the dell WD19 or WD22 docking stations are able to keep it charged up but if you putting high load then you need to plug another power adapter to it to give it the full 180W.

    Would you choose Lenovo P15 Gen 2 over this? I have quotes from both Lenovo and Dell for similar specs. Dell is nearly 3k more expensive and the screen is not even touch nor LED.

    • @BsianTech
      @BsianTech  3 роки тому

      For 3k cheaper I would go for the Lenovo P15 gen 2 regardless the performance difference if there is any that would be 3-10% that isn't still worth 3k more. One thing to note is the delivery times @Maz, seeing you are in Australia as well, do check the delivery times for Lenovo, its horrible atm from my end in Brisbane. Dell might be able to deliver the computer in 3-4 months faster than Lenovo so you will have to take that into consideration.

      @@BsianTech Thanks mate for replying. Actually I ordered my customized Lenovo P15 G2 online and received it in 6 weeks!! I am returning it as it has heating up issues. I have been given a refund or replacement offer from Lenovo which is awesome. I thought maybe I could go with Dell this time around. Dell's price was not nearly as affordable as Lenovo and interestingly they said their delivery time was 3-4 months. So, all in all not a good choice. I agree Dell is not worth 3k more.

      What did you end up assuming the price is the same would the p15g2 or Precision 15 7xxx is a good buy?

    Which is a better deal for Mechanical Designing and Simulation softwares: Dell Precision 7560 (Xeon W-11855M, RTX A3000, 64GB RAM) or Dell G15-5530 (i7-13650HX, 16 GB RAM, RTX 3050 6GB GDDR6).
    Prioritising computational performance and heat dissipation ability.
    Your opinion will be valuable.

    • @BsianTech
      @BsianTech  5 місяців тому +2

      Without a doubt the Precision 7560, regardless of the configuration these are built for Professional use, Design and Simulation is one of the many category it is able to handle and designed for. Precisions are designed for workloads for 24/7 so have robust thermal management and are the premium series where as the G series is for budget to mid tier Gaming. So the comparison of price also is very different. I've always try to use this way to explain the difference between workstation class and gaming class laptops. Workstations class are like Semi-Trucks where as Gaming class are like your Sports or Super cars. Workstations are designed for large heavy workloads and for long durations for many years of work, where as Gaming class are for light workloads for short burst or durations. People may argue Gaming is heavy workload but when you done Design, Research, ML you find Gaming is light load in comparison. I hope it helps.
      Back to your question just focusing on the specs only without looking at the form factor the Xeon with RTX 3000 will easily trump the i7 and RTX 3050 they not in the same league. Then adding the 64GB vs 16GB, I am not sure the size of your models or designs but I usually recommend 32GB as minimum RAM when comes to Design anyway.

      These Precisions do last a bit, they are starting to come down a little here I have found but it would be great to see an AMD in it to also bring price down a bit too. Though the 12th Gen Intel Core going to be interesting to see how that goes for next year if there will be any efficiency cores in the performance H series.

    After waiting for 4 monthes I got the Precision 7560, booked in may, got in sep. xeon w-11955m, 128G ECC Ram. 1TB, Win 10 Workstation, RTX A4000. 4K Monitor. Sofar it works well for professional programms as archicad, Lummion. Photoshop.... but it doesn't work well for Call of Duty Warzone. It is too janky to play this action game. For those highend games it should be a better graphiccard for games. I guess. Or maybe I just didn't make the settings correctly. I am not a profi for games. But I am a little dissapointed indeed.

    • @BsianTech
      @BsianTech  3 роки тому

      Quite a powerful beast of a Precision 7560 you got @K Yang. I understand where you coming from considering you spend quite a bit of dosh on it and it performs meh in games. This has been reflected throughout the new Nvidia production series, T and RTX A series I have notice, might be driver related I think. I have passed the feedback to Dell which I think they going to work with Nvidia to look into it.

      @Design Freedom, did you order the i9 version of this? I'm not sure if I got a buggy version of this 7560 or not because I find even the performance of the Precision 5760 in the i9 is tad better than the i9 7560. The i7 and Xeon version of this 7560 should be better I suspect.

    • @designfreedom3651
      @designfreedom3651 3 роки тому +2

      @@BsianTech, thank you for the answer! Yes, I ordered i9 version with RAM SuperSpeed 3.466 Mhz (which is not available for Xeon) thinking that in this way I'll get a little faster machine, assuming that i9-11950H and Xeon W-11955M are basically the same speed. If you read the datasheet, they are literally the same thing with only difference that Xeon supports ECC RAM. However, I'm not server or simulator, and I don't think I'll ever need ECC, so that was the reasoning.

    • @BsianTech
      @BsianTech  3 роки тому

      @Design Freedom, I completely understand and see where you coming from when looking at the spec sheet for i9-11950H and the Xeon W-11955M. I do try to explain this as much as I possibility can during my weekly live streams when this topic comes up. Its like the whole GeForce vs Quadro again, this also for me applies to the i9 vs Xeon. Though this year the new Xeon is just as fast as the i9 which is a surprise. How I like to explain is, i9 is like a supercar and the Xeon is like a Semi truck. i9 will get from A to B normally fast but is more than unreliable speeds or breakdowns where as the Xeon are designed to get from A to B reliable and to do it for long extended period of times (usually 24/7). Xeons will hold their performance very stable. The i9s on the other hand has been usually flakey from past experiences.

      I suggest you take the WD19DCS, 210w, if you are still seeking. And it is maybe the only one, which support the machine with that power. It works by me well, I put the laptop by side like a pc. No need to open it. You can start it with the Dockingstation.

    • @kyangqd

      @@BsianTech I hope so. I would like a slimmer and lighter version of the old M4800 Precision.... boring, square and black. The Dell machines look old fashioned and clunky compared to the offerings from MSI.

    • @psycl0ptic
      @psycl0ptic 3 роки тому

      needs to be chunky to accommodate thermals of the CPU and GPU. They make the precession 5700 and 5500 for those that don't need as much perf. Those do thermally throttle to keep things under control in the thinner thermal envelope.
