      I understand you had to go there prob for warranty issues but if I had you Ford truck roll in my bay with this goin on I woulda had your truck done same day with either new or rebuilt trans. On the road again. Not sure what was perplexing the dealership you were at?? Clearly something wrong take trans out give customer new one under warranty if all maintenance paperwork is legit. Tear apart trans later to find problem. They should not make they're problems your problems. I think that is such bullshit.!

      Our 2021 expedition when downshifting under heavy acceleration or normal hill grading will seem it goes into neutral but making a grinding noise. It will eventually times finally "grab a gear" and go. But for 5 to 15 seconds it wont do nothing. Not even rev up. Kind of scary. It will throw a yellow/ orange wrench up but the dealership says it's not showing a code.

      @@100pyatt bull shit... They tried that... it don't fix anything if it's already caused damage. We had to trade ours off because Ford would not replace the transmission and torque converter. Who ever was making the decisions from ford directed the mechanics to keep swapping part by part. They would replace one part and it would still do it. Replace another and still do it again. The expedition got to where going down the interstate the check engine light would come on and the vehicle would not accelerate, making the same noise as mentioned in previous comment. Almost as though it was in neutral. Scary for sure. The mechanics told us ford is going to keep swapping parts like this because they dont want to fix what's wrong. The mechanics said it needs a new TC and trans because of all the codes it was showing. After 6 months of the back and forth, We had to trade it off as I have 4 kids and my wife needs a safe vehicle. Now someone else is stuck with the thing. I felt bad for selling it knowing that someone would get stuck with it but, I couldn't eat that much money. The dealership took it to far away auction because they didnt want to sell it to anyone local. Ford may make good vehicles at times but they definitely didnt help us out or even care. O' they make bullshit phone calls and ask how it's going, what do ya need, and always reply we are engaging additional resources to help. It's all fluff. We will never own another Ford if I can help it.

    I got a 22 GT with the 10R80 and it is hands down the worst transmission I’ve ever experienced. Don’t get me wrong, when you want it to go it does it’s thing and that’s why everyone hypes them up but for literally EVERYTHING other than being flat out, it’s a hot pile of trash. • @100pyatt

      Most of the shifting issues are because of this slipped bushing. The CDF drum has been updated May of 2023. If you want to further enhance the shifting, Suncoast has a modified valve body and an improved pump that holds more line pressure

    Also be careful the “clutch relief valve” you know not a check ball but a check ball with a spring will have the same symptoms as a failed cdf bushing. You pull it apart and bushing hasn’t dropped, planet 1 and 2 have destroyed each other. Whoever built that trans didn’t measure T3 and all that metal destroyed valve body. Not to mention always pull outshaft metal gets stuck in E clutch apply passage. Ask me how i Know 😂 if your 10r80, defaults to 4th after an overhaul. Will pass an air check all day but when hot will loose 123

    I have a 2018 f150 3.5 ecoboost with the 10r80 and ever since I've had it, its always had a weird shift from 3->4 especially on cold days. It's like the transmission is slipping when it does that shift. I believe i have had it on the 7->8 shift a few times now too. Rpms will go up a few hundred for about a second, and then it will drop back down fast and cause the truck to jerk

      @Andomosity Рік тому +1

      @michaeljacques4059 still haven't brought it to a dealer. Bought it with 19k miles and it's done it since the day i bought it. It's way more noticeable in cold weather, but overtime i would say generally it's more noticeable than when I first got it. Personally I think it's something that is coded wrong in the truck and the reason I say that is because my brother and I used forscan to reset the learning for the transmission shift curve. Basically it just re-maps how the truck is supposed to shift depending on rpms and speed and engine temp. When we reset the mapping, the transmission worked flawlessly. Give it a couple weeks to a month and its back to doing the same stuff again. That's why I think it could be more computer problems than actual mechanical issues, but I could be wrong.

      Lucky. I’m a month just after time on the warranty, but still at 58k miles and mine went out. Dealer already charged my $1400 trying to fix it with the valve body, just to turn around and say “nope, you need a new trans.”

    Does replacing the drum fix the transmission? Or did it require a rebuild?

    • @eagleadmin3042
      @eagleadmin3042 Рік тому +1

      You have to remove the transmission and open it up to get to that drum so you're going to need to put new seals, gaskets, o-rings etc at a minimum so it makes sense just to put a whole banner kit (rebuild kit) that includes clutches while you're there. It's about 10-12 actual hours of work to do in total so it's stupid to cut corners and not put a whole kit in while there. But, MOST trans shops don't.

    • @ChristwarriorUSA
      @ChristwarriorUSA Рік тому +2

      @@eagleadmin3042 actually went and had them do that at the dealership. I asked them to replace the drum and any other parts that even looked worn while they had it apart. So far so good but now the engine needs to be replaced. I don't think I'll ever buy another Ford.
