    Nice review DD. With downloadable effects it seems you could have a lot of different tones and effects. Probably best used as a set and forget pedal. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

    WARNING LONG DETAILED REVIEW: There are multiple variations of each PEDAL. I tried many of these Chinese built multifx pedals thruout the years by now. So I'll describe my review:
    1.) The Mosky 5 in 1 was a pretty okay all-rounder but just 3/5 stars imo. None of the effects were really that good. Nice analog overdrive and distortion on a budget though. Handy unit for it's priced, but if you are looking for an excellent overdrive dist rev delay you'll simply need to spend a little more. It's good to its price and is well built, I believe there is even a DIP switch inside to get a little more roar to the overdrive. I would recommend it with the caveat that the effects are only just okay. But hey analog overdrive distortion with a DIP switch for $55 is dang good.
    2.) The Cube Baby is cheaper and my preference imo I rank it 4/5. The reverb and delay and overdrive are almost as good as the mosky 5 in 1, but the pedal is battery powered and about $20 cheaper. It also has a lot more functionality, tons actually. The IR loading alone could be useful for someone, an IR load pedal is $20-40 alone. You can also practice/record with it alone without an amp with headphones, and it actually sounds good at doing that. I've tried a lot of headphones units and plugins like the Vox AmPlug, Mighty Plug Pro, iRig, lots of Mooer NUX modelers, audio interface into the PC, etc with headphones over the years. This definitely is modern in it's digital profiling, and sounds on the side of pretty good. Almost as good as the Mooer and NUX stuff in the $100-150 range. There are 9 different overdrives that sound like different amps. The first 2 clean ones sound good into a regular guitar amp, too, so you can still use the pedal as a regular old boost pedal. The other one is probably better if you strictly want a good analog lead tone, but doesn't do nearly as much as the Cube Baby which impressed me.

    Bought a Sol918 after watching a few UA-cam review videos, including this one.
    The Sol918 exceed my expectations by thousand miles at it's price level. Feel like striking a little lottery.
    Thanks for your review.
    I almost bought a Cube Baby, but gave up upon finding out that it's presets do not retain parameters of the effects.
    Is that a correct that it does not save effects parameters in the presets?

    • @DoubleDguitar
      @DoubleDguitar  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks man, the Sol is really awesome sounding. I was just running it into my Marshall, this eve.
      The Cube Baby units will retain their settings, it’s a little tricky to make sure you save right and keeping track of the head/cab combo can get a little funny, but you have three presets to save your settings to. I am about to check out the Iset one in a video, and personally it’s knobs are clicky and a little better than the Getaria one. They have a more solid detent at each setting point. Thanks for checking out the vid and I hope this helps!🤘🏻

      You are right, The retention of the parameters in the preset is indeed tricky. Sometimes I felt they are retained but sometime I felt they are not.

    Nice review bro - if you were performing, would you find it hard to make multiple adjustments on the getaria if you had to on set? seems like the mosky is a little more versatile for on the fly - thanks for doing this~

    • @DoubleDguitar
      @DoubleDguitar  2 роки тому +4

      Yeah man, thank you!! It would be tough on the Getaria, the amp sounds and cabinet types vary and aren’t labeled. So it kind of would serve as a set and forget, for me. I would get one solid sound going and then add to it. The Mosky is super easy to set up and tweak during a three set evening, but needs something like an amp or the modeling in the Getaria.

    I have the cube baby currently and the one thing I love having is the cab models and phaser. The over drive seemed really (gainy) to me but not bad. I have the SOL 918 ordered and on the way currently so I can have spectate OD/Dist on their own setting. I also use radial engineering PZ Pre and a zoom fx pedal as well. What do I have all this? I play:
    Violin
    Mandolin
    Guitar
    Lap steel
    So I have all these options because each instrument has its own flavor as we all know. The SOL & cube baby will be for guitar and violin(no OD for fiddle) the pz pre for all of the above including the zoom pedal and mandolin and zoom for Mando & lap steel.confused yet? Trust me so am I. But, options…..never a bad thing.

    • @DoubleDguitar
      @DoubleDguitar  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks, Ricardo! The Flamma has much better sounding amp and cab sims, in my opinion. And running it with the Mosky is almost all you need, once you find a couple of your favorite setting. The Getaria is a great little all in one, has been really handy to have. But more like a pop in in my bag for a weekend, where the Mosky and Flamma together feel like a real rig!

    You'd rather have both. I run them on series, though, pretty much considering the 'cube baby' as an amp-combo in a stompbox format & everything else is run in front of it. As for my 918, i run an old Maxon UE305 into its effects loop instead, though. 😁
