Thanks for this commentary. As a fellow healthcare professional, I think your post would have been heightened with some simple graphs that are more visible and of course some data ppl can read after the video. The issue with Africa, is fairly simplistic; eating more, driving more, less activity. I submit the “government “ has a responsibility to make sure our foods are edible, clean and without artificial substances. But it’s up to us to control our eating habits. You mentioned 1960’s in N America! There has been a huge increase in weight even here. In those days ppl smoked, didn’t go to gym, and drank. But the quality of food has changed, more processed foods, more fast foods, and less cars on the road. You mentioned plant based foods. Excellent point. The more plants we eat, we can solve sone of these weight issues. Meat also contains all the inflammatory chemicals increasing our need for medicine for arthritis and other disease/conditions from our meat. I’m happy you are voicing this. I love your transparency that you are also working on your personal food struggles! We are all trying together! More should hear this! Blessings!
