Oo....powdery fragrances are my favorite genre. You are right powdery can be subcategorized as woodsy, floral, waxy, masculine etc. I personally love the soft floral ones. Thanks for this video ladies and for educating us about what powdery really means.

I have never associated texture with powdery scents. I always associate it with the smell of baby powder, iris, heliotrope and violets. My favorite powdery scents are Love, Chloé by Chloé, Infusion d'Iris by Prada and Vera Wang Embrace Periwinkle and Iris. Also, many call Chanel No. 5 powdery and I don't get that at all. I love that scent too.
+casablancalily822 Its interesting sometimes to liken scent to texture, taste, colour or even places ...we find doing that helps us describe them with more life! We feel that Chanel No 5 is quite sparkling at the start but in our opinion we feel it dries down to quite a soft soapiness after a while.
Chanel no 5 edt is quite a bit more powdery than say the EDP or parfum. Going by your list ( good list I love them too) you may like Chanel no 19 poudre it's powdery a bit and heaven :) I have some Chloe love on way to me I can't wait !! :)

Hi, Would you give me some advice? I just blind bought Molton Brown Rosa Absolute and from the description I did not expect it to smell powdery. I don't really like it but feel I may be able to alter it by layering it with another. What would you recommend? I love rose, citrus, spice, lavender and so on. If you are asking because you want to try it, I would say it is a woody vanilla oriental. Inexpensive, but worn in the right way with the right personality, it could be classy. It has a VERY strong silage and longevity. Used to be able to get a canister of powder but sadly, it looks like Avon stopped making the perfumes powders, which is a shame.
mailepointfive I always thought this was silly too. Apparently it's sampled on the narrow end so you can write on the wide end. Also perhaps to minimize paper smell.
+Marci Konopa also part of the reason goes back to the way the Perfumers work when smelling different scents... they spray on the pointy end of the paper blotter and clip the wider end into a paper clip type tool that can hold a few blotters in a kind of fan shape. Also if you don't have anything to hold the paper away from surfaces that might contaminate the scent you can spray the pointed end then bend that side up, laying the wide end flat on the counter or desk!

+jocknteam yes - sorry about that...we have had a couple of comments that have said the sound wasn't amazing. Lately we have invested in a different camera with a better microphone so hopefully our more recent videos have better sound 📣

It’s a beautiful, oriental, powder fragrance. Strong sillage too!
Forgive the silly question, but why are perfumes sampled at the pointy end of the strip? Wouldn't more fragrance carry on the wider end?
