literally just purchased a DF3 after using a 2 ball for the last 15 years or so. I've played with one that's not quite to my spec over the last 3-4 weeks and the amount of holed long putts is pretty incredible and the lack of misses from 3-6 feet has been so much less than with my prior putter! I know it's not the most beautiful to look at, but I can't deny the results!
Hey Pete, loving how you’re talking through each shot. You always shoot better when doing that. My only advice is don’t spend so much time discussing where the misses are. Certainly note that where those are but then aim small miss small. You got an 8 under in you for sure, just don’t be so pessimistic as to where the misses are. Hit the shot! You got this!!
Well played Pete! Nice to see the scoreboard pop up…. Didn’t realise I was leading at one point! Quirky course that rewarded solid play! See you at the next one 😎
As someone that is just starting to dabble in tournament play. This is my favorite type of videos from Pete. Absolutely love hearing your decision making process.
The best part of your current stuff is that you’re bringing out your inner voice as you play. We all do it. Golf drives us all a little crazy. Of course, you’re making a video for us to watch, so your internal commentary is necessary. But, frankly, that’s what the rest of us do, either internally or out loud all the time. I think it’s great to hear that process play out…to remind us how important it is to stay connected to the process…planning and execution all the way around the course. Never take anything for granted. It’s not easy. But, it’s rewarding to watch you improve and succeed. We’ve all had holes like those last two. Keep moving forward!
The editing, music, preshot routine, description of shots, e.t.c… What an amazing video Pete. Such a joy to watch. AND you have the draw on demand now, it seems like yesterday when you couldn’t draw the ball to save your life. Love how much work you put into improving your game.
Well done! Great play, one thing I've noticed is how much your head seems to drop when you miss a putt. The putt is already done, it's gone - focus on your next shot and you'll be great! And that putter works well - whatever works and improves your consistency.
So good to see you with the DF 3 in the bag Pete , I’ve had my DF 2.1 for over a year now and absolutely don’t see me ever putting with anything else, well maybe a DF 3 , well played again , great to see the upward trend in your game . Onwards and upwards.
I bought the DF 2.1 Armlock (did the online custom fitting w/L.A.B.) about a year ago. Since then putting has gone from a significant weakness to a strength. That thing is beyond legit. It will never ever leave my bag.
Pete, the DF2.1 was an absolute game changer for me. Never have I holed more putts than what I am doing now. Went from a Versa 7, to a TM Spider (which I putt well with), and now the DF 2.1. It is imperative to overcome the learning curve because there definitely is one. My first 2 rounds with it had me thinking I made a mistake. However, once the feel of the putter is realized it is MONEY. You know this happens when you obviously start making putts, but moreover when you switch back to your old putter and it feels completely foreign. I know you are now playing with the DF 3 and not the 2.1, but it really is cool to see it help you the same way it helped me and so many others. Loving the content btw
i am fortunate enough to live close to LAB's headquarters in Creswell, OR and did an in person fitting. these guys are on to something and are very passionate about their putters. i landed on the df3, bgt stability one shaft, press 3* grip, 34.5" and 72* lie. you have to get fit for these putters to get the full potential out of them. once you do, the results speak for themselves.
Brilliant video. Very enjoyable format. The graphics and information were top notch from the guys doing the video work. Best channel of its type currently on YT in my opinion. Well done team Finch.
I've been watching you for years Pete and I'm super impressed how you've completely changed your ball flight from a cut to a draw. Have you considered doing a video explaining how you went about making these huge changes?
love the attitude and comedy you have on this round. such a good sign of a stronger mental game. keep at it! i love these. Hope to see you on TV playing the open!
Great round. Your course management was spot on. Unlucky on some nervous putts. But overall you are most certainly getting better. I wish I could talk to you about your mental approach. You get that part sorted, you will become a regular 67, 66 round player. Well done mate.
Good golf again is definitely trending in the right direction. One thing I notice is a lot of the time you say where not to hit it - the professionals would not have that negative mindset and prioritize where to hit instead. Keep the good work going
@@peterfinchgolfdont worry about what the haters will say 😂. I switched to the lab DF 2 about 5 yrs ago and will never go back. My whole life i was a tradional scotty cameron newport style guy. For me i really had to get used to just letting the weight of the lab do the work and not gripping it too tightly… once i got that its really just get your start line correct and let the putter do its thing. Loving the quest for the open vids pete. Awesome playing, good commentary, great editing and graphics… well done sir 👍
Enjoying your progression. I did recommend the DF 2.1 previously. Function over fashion and your putting confidence showed more when you had it in your bags months ago.
Well done mate! You could have easily won. I really enjoy this series, also you talking about the importance of the mental side of the game. I feel like in any sports that is what separates the (consistently) top players from the rest and maybe especially in golf. I think you are already improving that aspect a lot. Padraig tought you well ;) Looking forward to see more!!
I’ve followed you a long time. I think you putted the best today. Well done Pete. You are awesome! Keep it up, but keep positive. You can do this for sure!!
What a lovely golfcourse. As a Swede wi normally dont get too many of those tricky short courses where at first glance of the scorecard you would say you would crush it, but in reality its all about managing your ball and not get greedy cause it will blow up in your face - Quickly!
Mr. Finch; I really do love your content and as well the personality you show even through rough times on the course 👌 That much praise comming from a german, must mean something 😁
Great to watch Pete. I have that same L.A.B. DF3 in a 38" counterbalanced model (like the Wyndham and Rickie jailbird). It's wonderful but it takes a few rounds to get rid of your old putting compensations (which you didn't have too much of in the round). It appeared as though you would have made one more putt but the greens were a bit wooley and it hopped on you, leaving you near the edge of the cup. Great playing, great putting. Best to you.
That was the best to date. Great attitude. So much better when you don’t kick yourself too hard. Interesting putter choice, but if it works, “Go for your life”. Thanks Pete. Good luck for the next one
Using my first Lab putter this summer. Have had it for ~1 month so far. Love my Lab DF3. It starts the ball online so well. Lag putting is a bit of an adjustment with no torque, but I can tell this is going to improve my game. Sitting at 2 handicap at the moment. Hoping to push to 0-1 this summer with work.
Really enjoyed this video! Really feels like a TV show. Some viewer feedback: 1) the joyful music right before a birdie putt foreshadows the birdie (“here comes the joyful music, he makes it.” 2) all the graphics are spot on. The tee, the target line, the stats. Totally great using golf simulator drone shots for the hole preview! 3) enjoyed the game of thrones type music at the end! 4) what’s happening with Peter’s golf cart. Is it a push cart or a mobile remote control cart?
Pleasure to watch that, great ball striking. I'm actually gutted you finished 2nd, It was there for the taking. Keep up the consistency, you're smashing it.
“Pin high” is a sign of quality ball striking Pete! But also saying it is trying to find a positive to oneself for lack of direction! I’m saying this from years of experiencing it myself! 😂
You have definitely upped your game..in both senses of the word ! Well done for some excellent content and keep it up Pete. I love the tempo of your swing by the way.
Best quest for the open series yet, loving seeing what you’re getting at when you take your golf seriously and great to see you playing some good golf in competition.
Congratulations on the series. Such great watching. Would luv to see an episode on how to think, plan and execute getting out of trouble from bad tee shots to short siding yourself.
Curious to understand club selection off some tees. I personally use the decade system and I noticed some par 4s where you hit iron or 2 hybrid and could have easily pushed it further up the fairway. Just my opinion of course! Great video as always
Love it, heading the right direction Pete. I have had my LAB for over two years and I love it - that said I am not 100th of the golfer you are buddy....
We use your “sign of quality ball striking” all the time. Usually poorly emulating what we perceive as “your accent” with our accent. Another great vid! Hoping to see you at The Open in some capacity or another.
Really enjoyed the video Pete. Have to say, the LAB putter looked very comfortable with those knee knockers. You stroked it a lot better than your other putter. I'd be sticking with it for a few more rounds to see.
Wildly errant tee shot on 17 and a recovery for a makeable birdie putt resulting in a par - pretty solid golf Peter. You can't be down on yourself for that one. You didn't hit a single tee shot where you wanted yet you managed a 67. Your course management and mental game are on target. The DF3 looks like a keeper. That club put you in position to win.
My dad’s a member at Heysham GC and for the first time ever mentioned “a UA-cam golfer was not the course” lol. Prior he’d paid zero attention to my UA-cam watching. He’s over in Texas visiting me for a couple weeks .. and he played great on our hard Texas dirt last weekend.
Even if, for whatever reason, you don't make the qualifying this year, there's no denying that this is incredible seasoning for next year. Always stay positive and patient, Peter. You have a massive following now and we're all looking forward to seeing you in The Open. Only a matter of time.
I like how you are determined to reach your goals. I think at this point it is the mental game and couurse management, some shots just endsup in really though spot, it really sets you in a bad place for the next hole because it just brings you down everytime you have to work harder for those PARs
Well done Peter, you know yourself there's a lot of room for improvement. You know, you let a few shots go there. Fine lines between greatness and obscurity. Your trending in the right direction, I'm willing you myself to reach the Open.
That putter shares some features of mine Rife Barbados. Center shaft , grooves on the face . I love mine if you hate the look of yours. Try the Rife. Get one used with a super stroke grip $100
Great golf Pete. Enjoying this series. Keep that Harrington mind set and don’t beat yourself up cos you’re playing great! I think you’re giving yourself a really good shot at qualifying!
Great to see you taking on board the words of wisdom from Padraig 😊 Not your best striking but course management is getting much better. Look forward to the watching the rest of the season 🏆
Pete and his mannerisms makes him the funniest person on all of UA-cam golf 😂 Watching him in this video was like watching some sophisticated penguin waddling around and having imaginary arguments with himself. Something I found helpful with my L.A.B putter was lifting my thumbs off the grip when putting. Allows the club to work as intended and not allowing your thumbs to overpower your grip.
Pete, you're definitely going in the right direction, and the way you are talking through the shots is very interesting. AGOOD DAY AT THE OFFICE mate❤❤
This was more enthralling than watching a PGA tour event. Genuinely on the edge of my seat looking straight to the leader board after every hole on the back 9. Left a couple of shots out there but probably made as many too so evened out.
I love the videography and presentation of this series......overhead view, clubs, distances, showing the lines etc.....really great to follow Mr F.
100% agree... it's really absorbing to watch.

Yessss knew someone would spot it! -M
I’m loving these top gear style intro’s lmao
Absolutely loving these comp videos, helps me alot with my game 👍
I wear my group out with "Do you know what pin high means? Sign of a quality ball striker"
Same here 😂
@danienel5742 they literally finish the statement lol
I do the same 😂

That is a strange golf course, I've not seen one quite like that.
You gained a subscriber just from having the balls to do this during an actual tourney and giving your perspective! Love it!

Pete game looks great. Boys the editing is at another level. I love the aim point, nice to see where he is intending to go and if he pulls it off.
The left miss let you down today, but the miss is consistent, not that big and you recovered really well - 3 under tied second is awesome. QFTO is on!
Camera angle behind you and low to the ground to see the putt is choice. You're definitely trending and these videos are awesome to see the journey.
Great vid, interesting that your best weapon is normally your driver & yet you only used it on 2 holes ?
Shows the game is trending
Great to see you go around my home course pete!! It's a tricky track for us mortals and you made it look easy in places. Loving this series!
Love how this was all put together for viewing pleasure, also dig the mood music added, very well put together presentation

I was in the same school year as Phil Kelly. Great golfer. Keep up the hard work Pete.
Good watch, and good editing. I like how you think through your course management.
Really good film making Peter. Your approach to tackling this monumental challenge is really fun to watch.
anybody else think this guy is loads better then the other guy RS, miles ahead!!!!!
Good club selection. Game is trending in the upward direction Pete. Good job
Great golf Pete. Enjoying this series. Keep that Harrington mind set and don’t beat yourself up cos you’re playing great! I think you’re giving yourself a really good shot at qualifying!
Loved the video. Playing really good golf 👏🏻 also loved the statistics at the end for putting? What app are using to see your results? Thanks
Great to see you taking on board the words of wisdom from Padraig 😊 Not your best striking but course management is getting much better. Look forward to the watching the rest of the season 🏆
Looked like you had a case of the Bubby Hooks there for a bit! Well played!
Fantastic to see your process, and the improvements that are there already.
Peter, absolutely loving this series this year!! Your crushing it for sure. FYI change you cell phone password, its just too easy lmao

Was this even 5500 yards? Just curious. Great round, love watching you swing and manage your way around the course.
Awesome format and production, Peter! I have to pause it while doing anything else 'cuz i don't want to miss a single stroke!⛳
Edits are mint! Your game is looking awesome! Stay positive and crush it!
Something I found helpful with my L.A.B putter was lifting my thumbs off the grip when putting. Allows the club to work as intended and not allowing your thumbs to overpower your grip.
Fabulous stuff the golf the voiceover the videography beyond classic thanks
