My only problem with this unit is that the armor sundering gets overwritten by Khalida's army wide poison contact effect. Would be a perfect unit otherwise.
Whoa, it does!? I didn't realize that! Glad I found out before doing a Khalida video, which I was doing a script for. Guess this demo combat is the only place we'll see the two together..
@@OffToBattle Yeah. Same with the "shield breaker" CE of the chosen of the gods. The only CE thats is not overwritten is the "take cover!" effect of the skull catapults. Its ironic that all the interesting ranged units get phakth over if placed in the ranged focused lord's army. :D
I think that CA should give units that already have Poison on their base attacks, a" next level" of Poison effect- maybe combine usual Poison effect with additional damage-over-time effect to further boost the base unit. Otherwise, it feels like the unit gets downgraded when they become part of Khalida's army.
This is the best ROR name in the game- nobody wants to be killed by Phakth- your enemies will die of shame 😮 On the serious side, this ROR has the 2 most useful and practical improvements that a ranged unit can get- better range and damage via Sundered Armor. It has great synergy with most basic Tomb Kings units. Unlike most basic Tomb Kings units, this one remains relevant well into the late game.
I've confirmed that Khalida's army ability indeed overrides Sundered with Poison, fyi. I don't think I realized before... and if I did, I completely forgot!
my fav unit of the tombking, for we can do -90 armor on ennemi because of that unit, the withering for -30 (and -8 moral) and -30 with soulblight (and -25% of base damage and armor percing, so less dps) edit, forgot about the lich ability
I have unfortunately confirmed that this is incorrect, Khalida overrides Armor Sundering with Poison for this unit. Can't say whether to call this a bug or not.. but I've seen overrides like that for SOME things in other factions.
Will you be doing the other factions also? It would be interesting to get your take on the Bloated Corpses of the Vampire Coast, other Warhammer creators have done videos on them and flip between them being useful and useless.
My Vampire Coast videos are not too outdated for the most part, BUT I think I didn't do a new bloated corpse one. The reason they vacillate is because that reflects in-game reality. I've used a couple against a High Elf garrison with some powerful melee units with way too little archer cover. Obscene levels of damage to them. But as soon as your opponent uses monstrous infantry, even basic Trolls, let alone single entities to block your Corpses, or enough ranged to nail them first, they do become basically useless. But my goodness in the right situation they make the enemy reflect upon life choices.
There seems to be a single turn's difference where Thorek goes from a slightly positive opinion of you to declaring war. It's not impossible. This as my 2nd crack (lately), I allied with Kroq-Gar and spent time wearing Thorek down. There are pros and cons, but two Caskets and one catapult in a single army do a lot to help.

Armour Sundering can be really quite good, for sure, and it makes a huge difference.
It can esp. if you combo it.
Great vid!
Thanks!

yeah it gets silly but that's a ton of armor being lost...

I'm trying my best there ^^;; Thanks, take care.
Best with Khalida.

Could you tell me where you can see those in depth stats of the units? I would be grateful.
Think it's twwstats
Yeah, google it and you'll find it. Not perfect but very helpful!

How is your luck with Khalida campaign?

@@OffToBattle was it easier to play Settra?
Settra is way easier for sure.
Khalida probably one of the toughest campaigns out there.
@@olafthemoose9413 it's interesting that CA designed it that way
