*HUGE UPDATE:* If you are traveling on RED DAYS (which are holidays) or WEEKENDS now (since Korea has gotten more and more popular over the years) I WOULD buy your ticket from the long distance buses in advance because _tickets DO sell out in advance now!!!!_
Please use the app below to look up ticket times and options (you can buy them in advance if you have an ARC):
Apple: apple.co/49LlBTB
Google: bit.ly/3U5EJ9f
If you DO NOT have an ARC, you can always buy your ticket from the station two or three weeks in advance from the terminal when you arrive OR use Trazy to buy your tickets in advance: bit.ly/49NtQyP
Cool thing about Seoul transportation is buses and subways are all systemically integrated so that
you can transfer from one to another (bus-bus, bus-subway etc.) up to 4 times with no extra cost if the distance is under 10km.
Beyond 10km you pay 1$ per 5km.
Wow! Thank you for an amazing breakdown!!! ☺️
I'm coming in July, so these tips are super helpful. I'm keeping a notebook of all of them to refer to when I arrive. Thanks so much!
More videos to come so make sure you subscribe ☺️ but thank you so much for sharing this! Makes my heart so happy to know I can help someone else!
I spent 2 weeks in Korea with my family last month and tried riding the bus twice. The first trip was a disaster as the 720 from War Memorial never went anywhere near the Express Bus station. Had to take a subway, glad we left early. The second was in Sokcho where the 7-7 bus took us all the way to Seoraksan mountain -- excellent result. 50-50 on the busses. Trains never get lost.
I went to South Korea back in 2015. I am checking out all the content to familiarize myself again and make sure I don’t miss any updates.
geez the qualities of these videos are on point. well broken down, very useful information!!!!!
Thank you friend 😭😭😭😭
Love all the tips and advice
Omg I needed this video so bad. On my previous trip to seoul, I was too anxious to try the short distance buses. Maybe on my next trip! Good to know there’s display of the next bus stop inside the bus itself!
Yes! It’s super easy! I’m glad you found this video and I hope you find the other transportation videos helpful as well 🥰✨
Your videos are lifesavers!! Thank you so much for all of the info. After watching your taxi video, it might be a better choice to use the bus.
Travelling around in KR for the last week now. This video was very helpful indeed (2nd visit, first time using ground transport). Amazing how easy it is to get around as a foreigner and yes Intercity buses are the way to go.
Two small additions based on my experience : in Seoul Express Bus terminal there are three concourses... makes sense to check in advance which one you need. And surprisingly in Daegu no way to buy a ticket for Gyeongju from the machine .... not listed, so gotta go to the ticket office... which is not an issue BTw
Thanks for the helpful tips! I’m glad this video was helpful for you as well~ 😊✨
I arrive in Seoul next week and I can't wait. Thanks for all the tips.
You're very welcome! Have a wonderful trip and safe travels 🤭🫂
Wow, I bumped into one of your videos and now I am a new subscriber and I must tell you that your videos besides being very helpful and educative are also very relaxing, the tone of your voice does the magic, you are very charming and is really easy to understand you (I'm a native Spanish speaker) Thank you so much for this helpful information and for being our virtual guide to South Korea! Greetings from Mexico
love this!
Love your energy. Subscribed and these tips have been so helpful on our SECOND trip.
You’re so kind! Thank you so much ❤️
Safe travels~~
I just came back from Korea the other day and I struggled with the buses in the beginning!😂 I realized the bus stop at my hotel and the one across from my hotel have the same name but I have to pay attention to the 6 digit number underneath the bus stop name. Yea it got confusing at first 😂
Thank you so much for this video! I freaked out (kid you not) when I found out I could not buy intercity bus tickets in advance when lacking a Korean card. And some blogs say that busses are sold out easily. And I’m literally traveling all around 😂. So thank you for this calming and helpful video!!! 😊
So helpful! We left a baseball game in Suwon trying to get to Suwon station, I was on the wrong side of the road, and we ended up in Seoul 😖 I should've watched this video first. I am still trying to master public transportation here, it's so much better and cheaper than driving! Thanks for sharing...Jeannie
Really good advice Megan and I can't believe they actually send people flying across to other people when the bus comes to a stop. Also where I am, we have to touch on our myki when we get on the bus/tram and touch off when we get to our destination before we get off the bus.
Sounds like there are lots of similarities in our areas! Haha ☺️
@@MeganOsten yeah it sure is
Thumbs up for the sweet smile!
Hi. Thanks for the great informative videos. I am binging on them now I am going to be in SK on 5/5.
I got the WOWpass it can be used as T card and loads from my CC. What do you think on that? Thanks again. 😊
Hi Megan, your videos are super useful, thank you! Do you know if one Tmoney card might be used for several people, like pay twice while entering a bus?
Flowers and you, both are so beautiful
Just a warning for people using headphones who may sensory sensitivities, around 10:00 and again at 10:03 there's a sudden static sound, and it really shocked me so I just wanted to give others a warning just in case!!
I'm really enjoying these public transport videos by the way, I've been to Korea a few times before but I'm still learning things from these videos, they're really great :)
Thanks so much for the tips
To the point and at least it's not my country who doesn't wait for passengers to sit down💀💀 we be flying left and right😭😭🤣🤣
Even in my own country I forgot to press the button for my stop Early and the driver thought I meant the next bus stop so I had to walk back💀💀💀💀😭🤣🤣🤦🏽♀️
At least I know the roads and it's very hard to get lost here since all the roads are somewhat connected.
Also I think the audio is a little bit too soft, I had to turn up my volume to maximum to hear. Just giving you feedback if u didn't known that was a problem, loved the video though.
I'm off to watch the video with the Tmoney card
Hahahaha bus drivers have one job and it’s not to drive smoothly 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you for the advice! I spent such a long time editing I forgot to turn up the volume 🤦🏼♀️ Saving that note for next time! Truly - thank you!
This was a helpful video but you left out two key pieces of info. I have been using Naver Maos about 9 days now. 1st. If you want to make sure you are at the right bus stop on Naver maps the bus stop has a bus stop number. If you confirm the bus Stop number you can confirm you are taking the bus in the right direction. 2nd if you are on the map. You can click on your bus line and follow along with the stops. Because the stops on Naver maps aren’t always in English.
Very informative. But can we use our korean bank\atm card and get the same discounts as we'd get by using Tcard?
HI, Megan. Thanks a lot for this informative video. It'll be really helpful for my trip to Korea soon. You mentioned that there are a lot of buses departing from Seoul to other cities in Korea. How about the bus station at other cities? Do they also have many buses from one city to another? And where can we get info on those long-distance buses, like departure time, travel duration, etc. Thanks!
Hello! Please check the new comment I just pinned to this video!! 😊
Thank u
😊
Will you talk about sim cards or internet for mobiles in your next video thanks
I’ve got a few other videos coming first but this one is on the list!!
Hello! Thanks for information 🙏🏻 I will be in seoul in two weeks and I am wondering how I can use bus from airport because I will not have t money card🥲 and also do I have to change some dollar at the airport or can I use dollar? Thank you again I learned so much 🌝
is the no eating or drinking rule due to covid? Or does that still apply now? I heard that people are allowed to drink and eat now on the bullet train whereas they were not allowed during covid.
@MeganOsten do you have any video that explains how to travel with a person with wheelchair? My mom really want to go to Korea, so im starting to review if i should rebt a car, bus or what would be the best way... thank you
Will those kiosks be found in not as large cities like a Busan or Seoul? For example, could you find one of those kiosks in Gyeongju?
what happens if we cannot board on time our reserved bus? are we going to buy a new ticket or we can just reschedule?
you too funny. i laughed the part "the last time took the bus is infused into my brain" because of old people smell :D
do they have a premium night buses from incheon airport to busan?
For a 2 day staying Seoul, how much should I put in? And when I go back can I get a refund for the rest of the t moneycard? Thank you for your video
looking cute
01:10 Can a person carry a big luggage in these buses ?
06:30 What if someone has an emergency nature's call between the destination and middle (Single) halt ? Is there any option ?
Thank you for this. This has been really useful. I am pretty confident with public transport, living in Melbourne, I am more concerned with language issues as they seem to be all in Hangul.
we are a family of 4. does each person need a Tmoney card or can I purchase one card and add money and use for all 4 of us?
Hello is the short distance buses do they announce in English the next stop or is it just Korean? ❤️
On all modes of transportation, everything is usually announced in Korean and English ☺️
Are you buying the bus ticket at the station or from a website? If website, what website are you looking at?
What is a good amount to put on the "T" money card. You said it will cost 4 dollars, what would you say is a decent limit???
Because it's so easy to add money to your T-money in subway stations and convenience stores, I usually only had around 15.000 to 20,000 won on it at a time (because I'm pretty good at ... misplacing things 😅). If you plan to stay in Seoul and use that card to pay for a taxi, you might want 30,000 to 40,000 won on it. Just know, if you misplace that card, there's no getting the money back... So just be careful 😄 Safe travels~ ✨
(I copied and pasted my answer here as well just for others - if they have the same question 🤭)
Does the express train subway stop at Sinnonhyeon Station from terminal 1 from incheon airport? I know the All stop subway train does. What bus number you take from incheon airport to Sinnonhyeon Station? Do you have any idea?
Incheon Airport T1 -> Sinnonhyeon Station / Bus No. 6009
To go by subway, you must first take the Airport Railroad (towards "Seoul Station") and get off at Gimpo Airport Station and transfer to No. 9.
Gimpo Airport Station Line 9 (towards "Volunteers Hospital")-Sinnonhyeon Station takes an express train and an ordinary train alternately, so you need to check the "Express train" on the platform screen carefully before getting on.
@@SS-og5un thankyou so much for that information, have a great day!
Hope this video helps you out! 👍 Ask me questions on my instagram @MeganOsten
I didn't add the price breakdown for short distance buses because it varies so much depending on the city and type of bus. I would recommend you checkout these links if you are curious 😊

Are there more videos ahead on this series? So many good tips! Keep them coming!
Make sure your sober when you catch the bus otherwise they send you Busan.
Do you need 1 t money card per person or can you use 1 t money card for the whole family?
per person
How to book kakaoT bike without ARC as foreigner?
For me as an American… If I use my VPN I can download the Lime app in America and use the bikes here in Korea!
@@MeganOsten thanks a lot for the info ! Will try it out
nunna, if you want to succeed in korea, you should consider and learn a word "Guk-Bbong" then you will get at least 100k korean subscriber. that's for sure.
I did more research on 국뽕 ㅋㅋㅋ
Is this a popular word?
try to contact youtuber '소련여자' she is very well knowledge what '국뽕' is and use it very well. then what happened?? she got million subscriber. i wish you would be as well. 1 more thing, don't believe wikipedia, '국뽕'is not bad as worse as they explained. it's yeah similar 'nationalism' but it's not only well explained.
@@MeganOsten if i were in good at english i could tell you what. unfortunately poor at english otl
아니 이상한거 알려주지 말라고 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
during rush hours....you are lucky if you can fit inside those buses LOL
Amen… AMEN

아니요 🤣 남자친구가 없어요
Didn’t appreciate the way you describe about how old people smell and how that affected your brain 🫤
You are somehow really not the right person for making videos.
😊
Thanks for the comments 🥰
