Thats pretty neat. I never knew there was a market for vintage lighters. Thats wild how much those can go for. Something for everyone! Thanks for the knowledge.
Those lighters go for about 70/100 euro max. They work beautifully and last a lifetime, unfortunately the ligne 1 doesn’t ping as much as the newer ligne 2
Dupont lighters are the Roll Royces of lighters like Rolex is 2 wristwatches. I have the exact ligne one as yours, ser.# U8BE72 I wonder if the 72 stands for year made as in 1972? Anybody know? Great video 📹 Thanks
Good video. Been looking at trying to find a used line 1 or 2 variant but the prices are taking some getting used to.... I'd like to find something with original box and in good condition but a lot of rough lighters on ebay
im using tooth picks to clean them, and before refill you should put the lighter in a freezer for 10 min or so, so he is cold, and the butane is getting better in the lighter.
Its been my dream now for serveral years to get a dupont lighter. But im so poor i can barely afford a bic lighter😭😭 but im trying to save for a fake one but they are also very expensive for me

I also got a line 1. You can not take the part out for engraving. The screw is for the "Echo" plate
I found that out when I took one a apart.

Lost the wheel flint, where can i order a new one?
I would check Ebay and stick with a real one. The China knockoff ones are not as good and I dont like them when I tried them.
What liquid do u clean it with ?
I use 70% alcohol and put in a spray bottle. The kind u get for in the health section of a store.
Awesome video! glad to own a Dupont myself. but, dude, stop smoking!
I did stop smoking in my mid 30's and recently stopped smoking cigars. Still love the lighters though.
a real Saint Marie would have a "ping" sound when you flick the lid open
