If you’re going with a free to play build then I suggest hans geisler and von hipper. Hipper increases range and accuracy and geisler reduces the reload
I use Cilliax, with von Hipper and Geisler as inspiration in a full secondary build. It doesn't always pay out, but it is fun, and destroyers and cruiser cought in a bad position have payed for it

Scharnhorst and Cunningham for the accuracy and Von Hipper to boost secondaries (Don’t feel like I need Haruna) Same mods on the ship too Cunningham 16/2 Scharnhorst and Von Hipper 16/3 Secondaries reach out to 11.4km with 2.4 sec reload on the 105s and 5.4 on the 150s
Yes! Love it I have Haruna at 16/2 and Von Hipper at 16/3 just for this set up. It doesn't always work but when it does nothing is more fun in this game.
Megatron+Hipper/Geisler is the ultimate in close quarters combat memes.Hands down. And the range with Megatron has Cyber Lens for a range boost on mains so it offsets the range tradeoff with brawler perk.Its an absolute secondary monster as you can imagine.
Maybe its because I have varying levels of commander ranks, but I use Hyde with Hipper and Cunningham as inspirations. I get just over 10km secondary's with pretty decent accuracy on the main guns. Nice balance IMO.
I made a hybrid accuracy/secondary build with hipper. Too many destroyers terrorizing t7 recently to effectively get in close and use secondaries. Mine range out to 10.9 with hipper as my primary cap
I use a maxxed out Hyde with porcupine and the enhanced secondaries. Inspirations are Von Hipper and the German carrier guy that improves secondary reload time. I don’t have haruna but if I did I’d probably use that instead of the German carrier guy.

Hoo, boy, it opened her up like a tin of sardines. I guess the point here is that there are still things that Main Guns can do that Secondaries simply can't, regardless of the quality of either.

Good video sir. As a big fan of the German BB's, I have gone with a more focused build on speed and agility via a lvl 16 Lutjens with Takao/Teslau (each level 12). The gain in rudder speed and agility allow me to play Bismarck/Odin/Scharhorst as more of a heavy cruiser...I have respectable speed to relocate when applicable while still knowing i have good AP, torps (not on Bismarck), armor and an ability to brawl. While Lutjens has a couple of cruiser only specs, to me he is worth the trade off. I am curious to hear your thoughts.
I dont have haruna, so i use lyons instead. Gets you fires and firedamage over time, but the drawback is that u cannot use will to rebuild cause u lose most of bonuses that way
What’s the max range you guys are getting for secondaries ? I’m using Von hipper with secondary batt mod for 20% range, his base trait for 14.25% secondary range and I get 10.4km range .. sounds a bit low ? 🤷🏻♂️
Saw you battling a Colorado. You can get a secondary built on that as well, with Lee (von Hipper/Beepley)....no GK, Bismarck or Mass material, but still.
Anyone use John Luke Pickup on Bismarck? Base trait is worthless but he seems pretty good for secondaries as well. I’ve always used Hyde on my non-torpedo German BBs as a hybrid build. Also curious if AL Fuso is a decent inspiration or if Geisler is better to cut down on reload.

@@Thunderlord_Tozn Haven't looked into it, but it might be more useful on the BBs with 5" secondaries. In the German instance, this would be Odin and Gneisenau with the B-hull.
I’ve always felt building full secondaries is not the ideal build, you literally give up everything for what is largely a fireworks display. I wish there were a legendary skill that did something similar to the knock off Star Trek guy that gave the secondaries increased pen. Until then I prefer a build more centers around moderate gun accuracy and survivability and having the secondaries boosted but not the main focus. I like ciliax with haruna and scharnhorst as inspirations. Porcupine, 5 heals and the decreased fire chance and faster reloading damage control.
Imo Scharnhorst doesn't make enough difference to me to justify taking her over Von Hipper, but otherwise I run the extra 2 heals as well. Just too good to pass up.
Soo unrelated question not about the Bismarck, I’ve maxed out the Japanese cruisers and battleships and I’ve maxed out mostly the Americans as well. How are the Russian ships as a whole be it cruisers and battleships. Or is another nations ships really worth the grind, Btw nice game!

teslau has replaced cilliax, for me. a few % pts of rudder goes a long way at full speed, don't really feel the loss in ap damage
Teslau better for ODIN,Tirpitz,Scharnhorst or Gneisenau since they are battleship with torpedoes...Hyde still remains best overall
I use al sharnhorst as lead, fire chance reduction not brawl, mine are 11.8 with upgrades.

Using secondary Bismarck use HE against everything except FLAT broadside. You get a bunch of 200k plus games with 100k fire damage.

This is the same build I run although I run will to rebuild, I did use john like pickup, with his unquie skills not to bad

How does the secondary targeting work. Do they shoot at the closes ship, the one you are specifically targeting? Can they shoot at multiple targets?
If you go to stats and go to artillery you can see your main batter and second battery range and they shoot from both sides

Von Hipper with AL Scharnhorst and Cunningham is the ultimate build. Main guns are now MORE than accurate up to 17-18km.
