I was lucky enough to get a model 94 AE 30 30 before they installed the crossbolt safety, with the nickel receiver its basically a pre 64 with a wide angle scope on it
@GigsGigs-x8z Verify that it has the manufacturer stamp, caliber marking and proof marks. Does that length and contour match was was reported by Winchester as being available during that year? Perhaps email them with what info you can and see if they can give you some way to confirm.

My 1894 was purchased by my Great Grandfather, the serial number is 61X. I also have a 94 that was made in 1954.
What caliber is the 61x?
Actually looked at my 1922 Winchester model 94 it's stamped 94. But damn it's my dream gun and cartridge.
My dad gave me a new one in 1974 for my 15th birthday & it still shoots like a new one! & it is a 30-30.
@@deanhoward4128 Excellent gift and wonderful memory I’m sure. I have one to pass down one day also.
FWIW, the gun in Terminator 2 is a Winchester 1887. It’s a John Moses Browning design as well, but it was ultimately eclipsed by the pump action 1897.
@furrowingowl5906 Thanks for sharing!
In Terminator 2, he used a Winchester Model 1887 lever-action shotgun. Not even close to a Model 94.
Good video. Mine is 1971 . Will go to my grandsons. Hope they don't fight over it ,and can share!

Ive heard the pre 64 had head space stretching if shot a-lot .

How do you tell if a 1929 1894 barrel is original? The one I’m looking at is a 1929 with a 15 inch barrel. I want to be sure it’s not altered.

Which one of these lever action rifles was know as " That Damn Yankee Rifle that you loaded on Sunday and fired all week" ?
@user-yp6ev9oi2t That would be the 1860 Henry.
