I'm an aspiring artist and this is a master class in composition by a masterful technician who gets the most tone from any guitar he plays. Thanks Jen for capturing this amazing musician day in day out for all of us to absorb and appreciate.
1959 and that finish is reflecting the light like it is brand new, beautiful guitar. Thanks Norm, Michael, & Jen. If you’re watching, Yo Brandon what up, miss ya dude. 👍🎸😎✌️
I believe you don't know what the point of buying a vintage guitar is. If I bought this one, I would have tears of joy in my eyes every time I played it because of how it SOUNDS.
Interesting to hear Norm remark on how rare these are. It reminded me of a story I heard once about Dave Edmunds. It might be true or it might not, but if it is true it is pretty cool. Edmunds often played a blonde 335 and while he was on tour with Rockpile. This I can confirm as I saw him play it several times. So the story goes that he had some sort of a problem with it and needed an emergency repair. He asked around and got a recommendation for a luthier who could fix it for him. So he goes to the guys shop and opens the case and the guy takes on look at it and tells him the serial number. He was able to do this because there are only a handful of blonde 335's of that vintage and he knew where all of them were except for one. Until Edmunds showed up with it. Somebody out there must know how many were made. If you could weigh in it might disprove or confirm this tale. Regardless seeing rare vintage instruments like this is why we tune into GOTD every day.
...been to the store yesterday, and if you think these guys are nice on camera - you're wrong - there even nicer in real life Thanks to Norm, Michael, Nick, Jen and the others in the store best experience for a long time Greetings from the guy from Germany !
Going through a vintage Fender Super Reverb can bring vintage tone to almost any guitar but this one is special. A blonde 335 dot neck with bigsby and patent applied for pick-ups are you kidding me? A dream machine to be sure, the history of American music wrapped up in a blonde bombshell, quite an amazing instrument for any guitar aficionado.
AMAZING GUITAR!!! AMAZING MUSICIAN!!! MICHAEL LEMMO KNOWS HOW TO GET ALL OF THE DYNAMICS OUT OF ANY AX HE TOUCH!!! HE IS A VERY DYNAMIC PLAYER!!! INCREDIBLE!!!
The thing that made me like Lemmo so much is the way he does a heavy steady chunka chunka on the big E string while playing the chords with his fingers. He is muting the big E string with his palm, but while also maintaining the rhythm with his fingers playing chords. I have never seen that before. And he did with the guitar on the neck pickup, which is also weird. He had enough distortion to get some highs and crunch from that neck pickup. It reminds me of that Stevie Nicks song, "Edge of Seventeen". I am referring mainly to the rhythm part of the first thing he played.
What a sound. What a guitar. And what a guitar player. He played it perfectly. He's awesome. Now you tell me when you heard a new guitar sound like that guitar. Never is when.
335 WEDNESDAYS ! Great vid possibly proving even blonde 335s can have more fun. Great licks by Lemmo. Great video by Jen. Hope neither of you ever become blondes.
I remember a blond ES-335 going off on Ebay in like 2004-ish for $45000. The guitar was being sold by people who had no idea it would go for so much, and the entire guitar community had never seen one go for so high before. I think it was a stop tail. Of course we did not get to hear it. This guitar player, Lemmo they are calling him in the comments, ...him, the guitar, the amp, the recording of it. ...it was a magical once in a lifetime event. It's about the best I have ever heard a guitar sound in that style. Ever.
And I am talking about his rhythm playing, ...that was what was so incredible. His lead playing more like good to average. Nothing special. But who cares, ... that rhythm he laid down was so perfect, and that is a lot harder to do than some lead noodling around. That first rhythm he played is what I am talking about.
I started watching Norms videos periodically off and on for a while, and after Norm got sick, I started watching regularly, wanting to see updates of how Norm was doing, and thankfully Norm has been getting better and better, and to see the love from his staff , celebrities and channel viewers for Norm made this one of my favorite channels,(especially when Norm goes to the "Secret Vault") I wish Norm nothing but the best on his recovery, and like many viewers this particular episode was something else, what a great sounding guitar mixed with Lemmos perfect type of playing to show off this special instrument. Thank you to all who put these video's out everyday, I have learned so much from watching this channel. Godbless and thank you.
I’ve owned a blond ES335 that I bought used in college in 1967 also with a Bigsby and custom made tag that covers up the unused tailpiece holes. I don’t know when it was made but the original neck was broken and replaced by Gibson in 1964. They glued a serial number tag that matches the new neck over the old tag which I can still see but can’t read without removing the 1964 tag. Can Gibson tell me more about this guitar’s original date of manufacture?
Great stuff Mikey! My version of that ES is my Natural 99’ Epiphone Dot with Gibson 57’s running through a Fender Supersonic 22. Thanks to Jen and Norm as well for this show and tell!🎶
@@Gratefulman1965 Maybe yours makes more sense......after all.....I don’t think we can mess with flat-top Friday....Angela Petrilli might be very sad 😞....or worse!🎸

That's a beautiful guitar, with incredible tone, Gibson's golden age guitars are beyond words.. Peace

It's truly remarkable that he can play so many guitars with the skill and *taste* that so well shows what each guitar can say. What a talent....
I could listen to Lemmo all day!!

Watching history in front of our eyes… Gibson and Lemmo. Wait until he breaks through. Michaels kills it.
Absolutely beautiful guitar! Thank You Michael. That neck pickup sound was so nice

That playing was... Unreal. Completely captivating. Props Lemo, beautiful every second.

Thank you just glorious soul stirring playing. 🔥🔥🔥
Beautiful playing, brother

I'd agree with you on that acoustic wise but with the right pedals you can make any electric guitar sound like a million bucks.

Damn Lemmo you sure can play....sounds so SWEET! Thank God NO COMMERCIALS OR ADDS.......❤
Those octave double stops are pretty cool! 😎
Very SWEET guitar and excellent playing.
WoW! 😲 Sweet sounds . . .
It blows my mind seeing some of these 50s or 60s model guitars and they look brand new. Pretty cool

That's a great guitar. I like guitars with a Bigsby.
Amazing axe! ❤
Gorgeous 335! And, of course, Lemmo’s playing is always spectacular.
Looking good, sir! Glad to see you looking healthy.

Bravo Lemmo chitarra stupenda 🤟🎸
Mellow Yellow Lemmo, insane playing again Michael. Thanks for the inspiration.
Great sound and wonderful playing. Ok. So what melody is played at 8:40?... I know it but I can't place it at the moment.

Nice guitar lemo is a great player
Gorgeous guitar. And Lemmo is honestly one of the cleanest players I've ever heard. Every note voiced perfectly.
Michael, the way you bond with this guitar, it's yours man... You have to own it. Your best performance ever!
That second song is banging! Any idea what it is?
Nice playing fella!
What a sound, I would purchase in a heartbeat if I had the cash.
Does anyone know from which song is the riff in 8:42 ?
I can't place it but I "know" it.
Great demo Micheal. You’re playing was incredible! That Guitar has some sound to it!
Great. Now I want a 335 type guitar 😅
Looking Good Norm! Excellent Work guys!
Nice playing Lemmo
Great sound
Even through Jen's phone it sounds great.
Beautiful blonde 335 - is that a Curtis Mayfield thing on the neck pickup demo?
Thay first tune he plays reminds of of that one song from Tarzan
Micheal great job again you make them all sound great 👍
#nrgfreebook 5:40 I stored this under "sweet sounds"....
.......it’s wacky ES Wednesday!🎸Whoooo!
Lemmo: Goofy Jr........JK......let’s go Mike!👍🎸
Not a fan of Blond Es's or Bigsbys but love Norm's work for charity.
How much for lessons Mr.Lemmo?

Sooo Smooth! Micheal putting some Fresh Mojo into Miss Blondie!

Or maybe Guitarcheology🤣
@@Gratefulman1965 Maybe yours makes more sense......after all.....I don’t think we can mess with flat-top Friday....Angela Petrilli might be very sad 😞....or worse!🎸
Hey Norman, I lost all my old guitars
Lemmo is God
U let the guitar talk
Why doesn't my 335 sound like this?
👍🏻✌❤😎
Neck pickup sounds great. Almost Strat like.
More of a thinline guy. But that 335 is killer
Beautiful 335 and beautiful playing by Lemm((o)). 🤘🤘🤘
As5ral
A blonde early 335 is about as collectible and desired as it comes. You’re getting up to burst territory there
Bueno Bye!
Remove your ring when you touch the product! It hurts.
Is all the money from this video, and profits made on the sale of the guitar going to charity?
ruined it totally with wriggle stick bigsby bagholder
Wish I could play like you 😢
