I used to use these (in Cal .32) as a security guard in Sydney, back in the '90s. As my instructor liked to say, they're not as powerful as an S&W .38 Special (the other handgun we got to use), but it will kill someone just as dead. The only problem we had consistently with them was the magazine spring pressure would decrease if it was kept fully loaded (and ours were always loaded, as they were carried 24/7 and passed from guard to guard as the shift changed), and eventually it would lead to feed issues when the spring pressure was sufficiently weakened. In the end, it was decided that only 4 shots were needed in most scenarios, and only loading for cartridges helped with magazine longevity.
That's a really nice little pistol and quite sufficiently powered for civilian use and as an early to mid 20th century military sidearm. I love the size of the thing! Nice video, THANKS!
I have one of FN's Model 1910/22 pistols in .32 ACP and it is the pistol I carry most often, I carried it earlier today in fact. The 1910/22 is larger and holding nine rounds in the magazine in .32 ACP gives it an advantage, I think. It is also a pistol with very good accuracy.
I have one of several thousand in .32 ACP that the Japanese used in WWII. They are marked with the Japanese character for "Greater Nippon". These pistols were privately purchased by Japanese officers and used in preference to the Nambu, etc.
This is weird especially from an American but I'm a huge .32 fanboy. Some of the most elegant pistols ever made were in that cartridge. I don't know if I would carry it for self defense but I would certainly feel cool at the range.
Yes of course everyones welcome, thats the point of America! But unfortunately our government has made legal immigration incredibly complicated. Good luck if youre serious.
I I tend to collect old firearms, I've got a browning 1900, colt 1903, colt 1908 vest pocket 25, a ww2 hi power, and versus other old revolvers, but I never thought of or considered the 1910, I thank I'm gone to have to give it another look,
It not only started WW1, but it only took 1 shot each into Ferdinand and the missus. If only the ammo were cheaper, I'd be carrying/practicing with .380. Perfectly adequate self defense round especially with hardball.
Most of the owner don't know that Browning 1910 .380 is trigger is made of plastic, the guy here his most likely plastic. the plastic will crack by the pin that trigger hang by. You can check with magnet and see if yours are plastic. On older 1910 replace the trigger with steel trigger to be safe if you use it for self-defense.
My grandfather that fought against the independence fighters in indonesia also had this gun whilst he was an officer he could choose between this gun the fn 1910 or a webley revolver fortunately he chose this gun he shot some guerrilla fighters with it
Mike B, I deleted my comment accidentally but still meant what I said. I saw the weapon check at 4:38. However, I was referring to the beginning of the video, especially at 1:08 when your left hand was breaching the barrel. Good thing you weren't reviewing a Nambu and doing that. My comments were only meant as constructive criticism. I see you have a ton of potential and ARE a great addition to TFB TV! Just be a little more confident in your delivery , that's all. We all look forward to seeing more reviews from you soon.
Mike has many more videos on his own channel 'Bloke on the Range'. His videos are great and hes a good presenter. He came off stiff in this video probably because TFB is a more structured format. I recommend checking out his channel, great content.
i'm surprised that nobody has pointed out that the attack in London still happen'd despite their much more strict gun laws i mean what are they gonna do will they try outlawing cars now?
Regardless of what one thinks about the UKs guns laws the ban on handguns was never intended to prevent 'criminals' or terrorists acquiring weapons but rather prevent mentally unhinged people acquiring handguns legally and using them in mass shootings. To this end its been successful though of course since the UK had very few mass shootings to begin in with its quite possible that the result would have been the same had the ban not gone through.
tomalong99 actually it's the biggest failure in British laws, it never stopped crime as they said it would, It never stopped terrorists getting them, And it hasn't stopped mass shootings. That's so stupid, so if a mental person is going to shoot up a place do they stop because they realise they have no handgun??? No they use what ever they have, we have had multiple hit and runs, mass stabbings and hammerings. The last mass stabbing in Japan killed 27 people, people will use what ever they have. So if we ban cars, we will have no car accidents. Or people using them in attacks.
tomalong99 I can't believe there's a person saying this who is a gun person ? Do you comment on car review saying how all cars should be limited to 40MPH since that's the average speed limit in most places?
Modern British gun laws are actually based on the McKay report from the 1970s which was pretty much 'Let's ban everything but bolt actions and double barreleds'. Which was a response to the abolition of the death penalty and a perception that criminals would rather shoot it out then surrender to avoid being hanged. Hence why after Hungerford shotgun certificates and shotguns in general were restricted further despite them not being used.
BadlanderOutsider hunger ford was in the 80s. There is more gun crime now than there was before any bans. A guy was caught with thousands of illegal guns not long ago.
Looking at a book on Smith and Wesson firearms it seems some early century police revolvers were also in .32 caliber as well before they switched to .38 caliber.
JonMacFhearghuis I know that, I was just making sure cause the NFA still defines a pistol as a gun meant to be shot with 1 hand and it wouldn't surprise me if pistols had to be shot with one hand for UK civilians if they somehow get to shoot one
No Josh, it has never been illegal to shoot pistols with two hands but many years ago it was considered unsporting. However modern (cartridge) pistols as shown in a previous TFB video, have been for a long time illegal in the UK unless they are modified (screwed up to the point they are not in reality pistols anymore!!!).
no, but historically handguns were always shot this way by the europeans., soldiers were always trained to shoot this way.ever watch someone shoot flintlock pistol?he's just shooting as it was designed.
The gun that started ww1 which gave rise to Lennin and Hitler which lead to ww2 which lead to the cold war which lead to the war on terror. That's a cool gun.
Recreational pharmacology and Obesity is what makes those rounds arguably ineffective in my country ( I slightly disagree because I'm of the people who insist that shot placement is the main factor in stopping people).
Relying on shot placement is all well and good till you are shooting from a compromised position and can not get a decent sight picture. At that point it's a little bit of luck mixed with a capable cartridge. This is one of the reasons I carry the .357 sig, I have the same capacity of a .40 as well as better accuracy and power than any of the big 3 (9x19, .40 S&W, .45 acp)
I saw a ballistics test of some 32 defense rounds (was it tnoutdoors? idk). I think he was testing Underwood, anyway the stuff really kicked ass compared to a FMJ round! Being completely serious, before I didnt think much of 32 but after seeing that I wouldnt feel unarmed with a 32 pistol and that ammo.
I actually completely agree. Carry the biggest you can handle and conceal. Im just speaking for those who might carry a 32 (women, elderly, etc) who physically cant take the recoil of something bigger. Id hate to think someone left their 32 at home because they were told it was too small or something.
This pistol was used by all korean independent artists during Japanese rule and is still used in North Korean army officer and it's still produced in present as type 70 pistol.
Isn't "7,65 Browning" quite a bit more powerful than ".32ACP" due to CIP permitting a higher pressure than SAAMI? To the point where standard 7,65 Browning is like +P variant of .32ACP? Might explain why 7.65 Browning was so popular relative to "9mm short" in Europe as there's far smaller difference in power yet the former grants greater capacity.
I wouldn't stand at the end of an indoor shooting range. The concentration of lead in the air is highest there and you wouldn't want to get too much exposure
I wonder if "modern recreational pharmacology" made that big a difference to "stopping power". I imagine most people shot prior to widespread drug use were under the influence of alcohol.
I don't doubt it for a minute. Certainly the switch from 6 .38 Spl LRN at unimpressive velocities to 10+ expanding 9mm/40S&W/whatever happens around the time of the hard "recreational pharmacology" boom. ~Mike
This is the gun that replaced the Nagant in the Belgian army, The Nagant was not dead, the Swedes Husqvarna built the Nagant under license from Nagant, with other Nagant creates Fn Herstal, the revolvers Nagant Russian is a scam, they bought and not fully pay the patents for the guns but never for the 1895 revolver, not only the guns but all the machine tools. The revolver Nagant was built in Belgium until 1913.
Not in quite the same way though, and not necessarily the same ones likely to lead to the kind of, shall we say, rather more than passive-agressive altercations with the gentlemen of the law ;) ~Mike
Use of .32 caliber handguns was not confined to Europe. 1896m Theodore Roosevelt (then Police Commissioner) selected the Colt New Police revolver - .32 Colt caliber - as the 'official' sidearm. Bat Masterson - famed Western hero and sports writer - proclaimed the .32 ACP to be great for home defense. (In a paid commercial advertisement, take it for what it's worth.) Numerous semi-automatic pistols were made and sold in the U. S. in the first half of the 20th Century. The German Army (I assume the "Armed Forces") used the .32 ACP and not the .380 ACP; the .32 could penetrate a helmet of the day better. Also, consider the absence of anti-infection medications prior to the Second World War. I do not use them as defensive tools, but I collect .32 Automatic Pistols. (I like Short Magazine Lee Enfield Rifles as well.) I do not have an FN 1910 in my collection yet. I WANT ONE!
4:27 Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, 1914 colourized.
Wear your earpro because the shot can be heard around the world

Nice to see the Bloke on TFBTV.
Bloke on the Blog
bought an FN Model 1922 in .32ACP a couple days ago at a gun show. Put 4 mags through it, and it worked flawlessly. Love it.
Franz ferdinad didn't think it was poodle pistol
Too soon, dude
Neither did.his wife.!
And huey long i think
People seriously underestimate the damage those popele pistol can do
Cold dude
That's a really nice little pistol and quite sufficiently powered for civilian use and as an early to mid 20th century military sidearm. I love the size of the thing! Nice video, THANKS!
I think the anemic nature of the cartridge is offset by capacity and concealability of the .32 ACP.
Love seeing the diversity of content on this channel!
I remember this sidearm. I remember it from Lupin the Third, and I must admit that I wouldn't mind adding it to the collection
The pistol that changed the world...
Handen omhoog voor België!
ondanks heel onze wetgeving hebben we een mooie geschiedenis in vuurwapens en nog altijd gaande.
Browning 1910 is a beautiful gun.👍
i don't know why you being on TFB brings so much of a smile to my face
I have one of several thousand in .32 ACP that the Japanese used in WWII. They are marked with the Japanese character for "Greater Nippon". These pistols were privately purchased by Japanese officers and used in preference to the Nambu, etc.
Shaun W well, that explains the Japanese inscription on the barrel of my gun
I have one in .32 ACP also and a Nambu Type 14 my Dad brought back from the Philipines along with a Katana.
Nice review. Cool to learn about these more obscure pieces.
I can't tell you how happy I am to see the Bloke on a TFB video
Hey! It's the Bloke😄 Nice review glad to see more coverage from you.
A British bloke with some Swiss flavor on TFB TV. How cool is that?
Lol. I love his use of the term "recreational pharmacology"
pee pee
Sorry, I'll never think of you by your TFB name. You'll always be The Bloke to me!
Hop
Always a joy to see you, sir. I thought an F'N 1900 was used to shoot Archduke Franz Ferdinand.
The real question is, how does it stack up against a Savage 1907?
This is weird especially from an American but I'm a huge .32 fanboy. Some of the most elegant pistols ever made were in that cartridge. I don't know if I would carry it for self defense but I would certainly feel cool at the range.
Very cool to get a European perspective on firearms thank you.
great video dude- more please
Thank-you for shooting it correctly.
Good to see ya Bloke
could i claim asylum in the USA for being persecuted in the UK for my gun loving tendencies?
You are welcome here. Pick a red state though.
Paul Passat Yeah man, get your papers and come on in. We'd love to have you.
A boy and his rifle. yeah murica
Yes of course everyones welcome, thats the point of America! But unfortunately our government has made legal immigration incredibly complicated. Good luck if youre serious.
I think its time for a new (more successfully) gunpowder plot in UK Parlarment to free the people from tyranny
Great little gun. Darnit. Now i'm going to have to start a 32 collection......at least i already have a Beretta 70 to start with
I I tend to collect old firearms, I've got a browning 1900, colt 1903, colt 1908 vest pocket 25, a ww2 hi power, and versus other old revolvers, but I never thought of or considered the 1910, I thank I'm gone to have to give it another look,

One of my favorite pistol.
can you do a video on the browning hi power
Thanks for shining a light on a little known (to Yankees) pocket pistol.
This Gun, One guy in a Subway shop lol and one failed MapQuest directions. 😂 Modern Twist lol
My grandfather that fought against the independence fighters in indonesia also had this gun whilst he was an officer he could choose between this gun the fn 1910 or a webley revolver fortunately he chose this gun he shot some guerrilla fighters with it
He was a Dutchman?
Oh I thought I clicked on a bloke on the range video on accident just then

Little awkward, but I enjoyed the video. Thanks!
Is it illegal to shoot pistols with two hands in the UK?

No its old school, like the pistol...
AAAA such history to that pistol
I have one. 7.65MM SN 373xxx. I found it in the Mojave Desert 34 years ago. I need some parts to make it functional.
hey it's the Bloke!
thats hilarious, it looks like you shot that overhead light out but it was already flickering!
Nice.
I was wondering if they were going to be mentioning this was the gun that started WWI.
If whatever you're shooting doesn't die after you pump eight .32-caliber slugs into it, it's probably a dragon!
Hey, BOTR is on TFB now!
well done bloke. have a pint down the pub now.
The gun that took out archduke Fran's Ferdinand
The gun that started ww1 which gave rise to Lennin and Hitler which lead to ww2 which lead to the cold war which lead to the war on terror.
That's a cool gun.
bring back the bloke!

I saw a ballistics test of some 32 defense rounds (was it tnoutdoors? idk). I think he was testing Underwood, anyway the stuff really kicked ass compared to a FMJ round! I have one of these they’re nice and compact
It was the hostage situation at the Munich Olympics in 1968 which catalyzed the adoption of 9x19mm police handguns in Europe.
He is lucky he lives in Switzerland, , ordinary people cannot get handguns in the UK,, democracy what a joke,,
The gun that changed the world
First video the Bloke hasn’t done in drag?
Shoot poodles in the U.K., do you?
Canadian here who owns a Colt 1908 (a 1903 chambered in 380), and an FN 1910. The 1908 is much better to shoot.
What are they worth...I have one bought it for 50 bucks years ago
Jonny G a fair bit more but condition and a million and one little details make it hard to say over the internet
Just A Hologram leather holster in good condition, gun in good condition, and one mag
Jonny G pending on markings and who it was made for between $300-$1100
Probably worth ten times that now... No im not exaggerating or being hyperbolic.
I wonder if "modern recreational pharmacology" made that big a difference to "stopping power". I imagine most people shot prior to widespread drug use were under the influence of alcohol.
I mean, look at the 38 -> 45 change brought on by the Fillipinos.

Why does bloke suddenly sort of look like Gavrillo Princip - are we gonna see Princip 2.0
Bu yüzyılın en iyi 7/65 tabancası bana göre
thought i clicked wrong vid for a min
"Recreational Pharmacological", I like that saying for the drug trade.
Makes something barbaric sound almost clean and clinical doesnt it?
is that geezer a brit?
Astro Polski no he's russian
Astro Polski British, but now in Switzerland. It's the gun heaven of Europe.
People used plenty of recreational pharmaceuticals in early 1900s.....
Not in quite the same way though, and not necessarily the same ones likely to lead to the kind of, shall we say, rather more than passive-agressive altercations with the gentlemen of the law ;) ~Mike
True, cocaine was complexity legal and sold over the counter until the teens or 20s.
Just look at Coca-Cola, it had Cocaine until 1903, about the time the US govt started to control sale of narcotics.
Bloke ! 👌🏻
Huh. Neat!
“One day the great European War will come out of some damned foolish thing in the Balkans."
Otto von Bismarck tried to warn us.
The pistol was used by gavrilo princip, which started ww1
Indian ordinance factory produces the same kind of pistol in .32 cal
And people still cry Makarov stole Walther's design, well look from whom Walther stole it!
what has happened to TFB? wheres Alex and James?
oi, bloke.
Cheers mate
