Wooly, I was going to ask you about the "silver look" on that X27. I don't recall my Fiskars looking like that. It could just be me! If you don't have a maul handy turn to the X27 splitting axe. I treated mine like a maul for years until I bought the 8 pound Iso Core maul, three years ago. Its a nice axe and very popular. I split balsam fir, hemlock to cherry, silver maple, white birch and it does every well. I'm torn between the X25 and the X27. I hope someday we see the newer fifth generation the X32 and X36 all over the world. They have them in Australia for sure. Maybe parts of England. I made a comment about them in an earlier video. Please keep your eyes peeled I hope they come over the pond on either side. Until then the X27 will be one of my go to axes! Enjoy kind sir!
Been splitting wood for the better part of 50 years and that x27 is, by far, the best splitting axe I've ever used. I can split right through crotches with that thing that I wouldn't even have attempted before I got that axe.
With axes it's simple; the only thing you are going to use it for, is bash the hell out of things, as hard as you can. So always buy the best axe you can, even if it's a bit above your budget. The first time you swing something that's properly balanced like that, you won't care how much you spent on it. I also thought Fiskars were lifetime warranty, everything I've ever sold at the store has been, I'll have a look at that one next week when I'm back to work. I remember a video of yours from several months back, when you were chopping wood at the house. I asked why you had an ace with a shorter handle. You thought it was more that sufficient for what you are doing. From what you did today, with the bigger axe, you can chop more, harder wood, with less effort. Fiskars takes the time to balance thier axes, so even a large one swings with little effort - longer swing arc, makes more torque, creates more force on impact ( or some kind of physics like that that I can't remember). Basically, bigger is better.
I have an almost brand new X27. So far it is excellent but I got it right around when I hurt my back trying to split sycamore like an idiot. 25 year is a new one on me. I need to get mine out again and give it a shot!
Hey there, thanks for the review I will be getting that axe the moment I see it in store. But other question, what kind of jacket is that, it looks really nice and I would love to get one.
I think I got X20 or X25 from 90's when the plastic handle was all black, like a new still. Have not use it a lot like 20 years as Hydraulic and kinetic splitters are so much safer and 10 times faster to split any wood!

It's a carhartt active jacket, great jackets
She's a beast! I just got the 36 inch fiskars splitting axe which I assume is the same deal? Black splitting head tho.
I think there's new ones out
Looking forward to the X27 vs the Husqvarna comparison. I'm betting on the big swinging Fiskars.
Yeah, different weapons
Stihl frosty
Good man Bud
🪓 looks like for larger logs, when u need that extra swing puch! 💪
