I'm pretty sure that they said the Intrepid class ship shrank during its transition to our dimension and the admiral was brought in to help develop the technology to unshrink them. I also think the writers are setting up a season ark of finding out why there are so many interdimensional rifts going on...
Galaxy's child: in my mind that's just the popular name that was later given to them afterwards. Boimler's beard continues to grow out, it's a nice little attention to detail. By the end of the season I'd expect them to make a reference to Data trying to grow a beard. I thought they were going to take things in a deferent direction at a few points. Boimler's mission looked like maybe a cover for an actual vacation, then I thought they were doing some psychological test, and then I thought it was a lesson on how there's a lot of unglamorous but necessary work in Starfleet.
With all this talk about so many references being packed into this episode, I almost expected Rick McCallum to appear saying "ITS SO DENSE, EVERY SINGLE IMAGE HAS SO MANY THINGS GOING ON!"
Another exciting episode of Star Trek Reference… Also the Apocalypse Now Admiral is also likely a vailed reference to the Heart Of Darkness story idea that they originally wanted to use for Star Trek Insurrection. They had to drop that because Stewart didn’t like it.
They keep making twists where the behaviour shown previously to the twist makes no sense: here it was very much implied that glumpus is just a normal metal consuming critter with no unusual behaviour.
I am not a fan of these wild and crazy... could have happened on any other wacky animated show antics, and when things have a bit more grounded purpose. You can take out the Star Trek references, and it would play out largely the same. A Grey Goo story? Really? They really are out of ideas.
Well this season seems to be about interdimensional rifts ! Maybe Harry Kim is behind it all trying to finnaly find Kim that isnt Ensing lol ! I didnt liked Nick Locarno season, since i am not a big fan and nerd and also for other normies Locarno seriously !?

One reference you missed with the "Dixon Hill slot machines".
@@davepost7675 oh yeah . That didnt make any sense though
@@NitpickingNerd It especially makes no sense in a post money galaxy.

Yeah it seemed like a last minute addition that made no sense to say it was being controlled by a tiny starfleet ship
You could argue that the ship lost control, there's a lot of variables that make this not much of a stretch imo
I wonder will we see evil Boimler this season, and another holodeck episode
But boimler is a huge Archer fan...🤔

This was the first episode of Lower Decks I found absolutely boring as hell and turned it off half way through.
this season feels like they're running out of steam / ideas
@@NitpickingNerdmaybe thats the real reason the series is coming to an end.

Reference, reference, reference… why can’t they come up with something new? Have an original thought for the love of God!
References (aka Member Berries) are pretty much all this show (or any of NuTrek) has going for it.
And of course Mariner's gay, who isn't in NuTrek?
it's easy just mention Ravioli space whales then everyone will know what you are talking about.
