I went to watch this with my Dad, the atmosphere was brilliant, so fun to watch! Was gutted for Liam Killeen, the crowd really got behind the athletes in the last group. Great memory.
if u noticed, smartphonees arent really a common thing yet, and many spectators use cameras instead, really amazing to see how far weve come in these 8 years

I am former mtb racer and stuff happens. It happened to me halfway up a climb. Didnt have the tool to fix it. Luckily it was a two lap race so i climbed and descended the rest of the lap without a saddle. Stopped to get a tool, fixed it and still was able to podium. Granted Junior Expert isn't a large category and rider skills can vary widely but it was quite a setback that I pushed through. My only goal was to finish and the 2nd lap I went hard.

True. Although; the 'real' mountainbikers are much faster than the cross country / cyclocross specialists. I think the designed the track this way to attract cyclocross bikers, since cyclocross is not an Olympic discipline.
