If one takes a break from Nightwish and returns .... one realizes again what great band and musicans they are.

Too true. I rarely take a break, but it's been a while since I watched this one. Spurred by the enthusiasm of Andrei and Dominika I actually noticed a few nuances here that I'd never heard before (despite listening to it many times).. and the energy is off the scale.
What a band. So hope they tour again?!
When I take a break from nightwish im listening to After Forever, ReVamp, and Floors other projects!
I can not stop to appreciate NW - all members, TUOMAS and Floor and Marko and Troy and Emppu and Kai. listen to 1000 times, all day some years. And never get bored similar to pieces from Mozart or Beethoven or some other classic composers.
I discovered them on 2022 and it’s been my most favorite band since then. They are almost perfect. Maybe that happened to me before with Mark Knopfler and Guns & Roses, but this goes far beyond. Every song is special, and different.
The only band that got to me such a clean sound on a live show is Muse.

@@angecooke4164 If you look at some of Floor's interviews and her own stuff on YT, she does do the big eyes thing occasionally to add emphasis.
It's very endearing.
Some background to this song - some people take it as anti-religion generally, but it's more specific.

MARCO: What comes to the new lyrics,
"Weak Fantasy" was the only one that actually hints at ancient tribal literature
We obviously realized that religion is a
touchy subject and that we'd have to carefully consider the tone of the lyrics. It's still funny that you can publicly criticize and mock art and politics as much as youbwant, as well as artists and politicians but when you stick your finger in the hornet's nest of religion.. uh-oh.
TROY: We were working on "Weak Fantasy" for quite a while. Tuomas originally used more direct, aggressive metaphors, but in the end, we decided to opt for a more ambiguous tone. Some people might still find "Weak Fantasy" confrontational, but you can have different interpretations as well. The wisdom is in the eye of the
beholder
TUOMAS: We discussed this stuff with the band for hours on end, and everybody stood behind the lines in Weak Fantasy" for instance. In Nightwish, I have never felt the need to neither rebel nor preach, and that hasn't changed, but if the listener
stops to consider different viewpoints
because of our music, that's always great.
There's never enough open, intelligent, and unprejudiced discussion in the world.
Marco- There's obviously nothing wrong with leaning a higher power per se.
A belief in something supernatural can comfort you and help you get through the day.
But its just horrible when people use ancient religions as an excuse for their own utterly condemnable acts or to instigate senseless indiscriminate hatred towards others. Blind fundamentalism seldom leads to anything good, whether you bow
to Allah. Jahve, Jesus, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or something else.
TROY: As the wisdom goes, if you could
reason with a fundamentalist, there
would be no fundamentalists.
TUOMAS: It's only during the last years
that l've started to question my own religious stance. Why have I been a Lutheran and believed in the kind of God Lutherans do? It's simply because I was born in Finland in the 1970's. In another culture, in another time, there would have been another god above others. In 10th century Denmark, I would have worshipped Odin and Thor. If I'd been born North Korean, I would've been forbidden tovbelieve in any kind of Supreme Being.
In other words: what you believe in - or
what you think you believe in - is based on pure coincidence.
TROY: It's baffling, but some of my friends are actually afraid that I will be cast into the fiery pits of hell. I can only compare these dear friends of mine to chain smokers in this respect: they know it's unhealthy, but they still refuse to quit.
I don't understand why people
believe in something without any
proof, yet laugh at other similar beliefs
- I mean, if I were to claim that you can
live to be 150 by eating just yoghurt, nobody would believe me. They would ask me for some kind of proof and research findings. Why can't they apply this logic universally?
TUOMAS: To be precise, I consider my-
self an agnostic atheist. I don't believe
in God, so that makes me an atheist
How do I know that God does not exist?
I don't, but neither does anybody else.
That's why I am also an agnostic. To
confess that you do not know some-
thing is actually an intelligent and
constructive stance. It makes you humble, unlike a blind belief in something unproven
MARCO: We had just returned from an
18-month hiatus, so everybody was itching to make some noise again even to rehearse! It's always interesting to play new material, because new songs are not in muscle memory yet.
I'm using a double-neck instrument for "Weak Fantasy" for example, and there's a moment when I have to leave the bass humming, turn on the guitar, and, on a certain eighth note
quickly grab the other neck. You have to practise these things quite a bit to be able to play them with confidence.

In an interview Tuomas gave short comment on every track of the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful, and about Weak Fantasy he said that Marko is the main composer, the rest by Tuomas. I believe the lyrics is the other way around, mainly Tuomas, the rest by Marko.

I hope one day you will do a revisit to Ghost Love Score, but then the version from this (Tampere) concert. Floor stepping on that long catwalk, it's breathtakingly good and the soundquality is top notch.
My second favorite version of GLS. Really great version at this concert.

Troy is playing an Electric Bouzouki ( A musical instrument popular in Greece. It is a member of the long-necked lute family, with a round body with a flat top and a long neck with a fretted fingerboard.).
Marko is Playing an Warwick Infinity / Panthera Double neck Bass and Guitar ( It is called THE BEAST).
This song is against organized religions based on tribal religious texts, especially The Bible, it's not against personal faith in some Deity. However, one should realize that all those religious texts are & have been interpreted and used to justify unimaginable cruelties, persecution, discrimination etc., the worst being the idea that man is separate from nature & by some divine right above all other lifeforms, which explains the current almost catastrophic state of our planet.
lyrics are spot on - so many fractures in our world have a root in the fantasy that each of the religions/sects/whatever are THE ONE way. This song speaks, with anger, against the fact that we humans are destroying ourselves and this world based on a power structure that needs to be made obsolete - we ALL deserve better.
I LOVE this Song . Especially Floor's Freddie Mercury pose at the end .

There is a German TV show in the format of Beste Zangers where Floor, in 2022 sang a cover of 'Call You Home'. It was written by Kelvin Jones who is there on the couch. The first half of the song is similar to his rendition. The last half is all Floor and the crowd goes wild. I mean really wild and they are all singers too. It would make an excellent reaction video because no one has done it yet. It's only 3 minutes long and Floor is absolutely drop-dead gorgeous in her non-metal dress, hair style and makeup. I recommend listening to the original by Jones first. It's on TikTok. I am unable to link it. 😊🤘

One of the heavier songs on the Endless Forms Most Beautiful album. Lyrics and music co- written by Marko and Tuomas. It is a criticism of the negative aspects of organized religion. They are not opposed to having beliefs , or to religion itself.
Ofcourse they are,religion ALWAYS interfears with daily lifes of people,even if you don't believe in ANY god.Nightwish have being ,lets say, very polite with the text of this song,but it's absolutely no advertisement for religion. And beliefs? If you believe the bible,i'm sure members of Nightwish would oppose to it.(tribal fantasy)

I agree that Nightwish is the best introduction for people to get into metal. I have introduced quite a lot of friend into metal by just let them see Ghost Love Score and then Storytime but then I go to Dead Boys Poem. Most of the time they are really hooked and are amazed by it. Now these friend listen to Epica and Sabaton. Normally I was the only Metalhead as they called me among my friends and they declared me a bit eccentric and now they are all metal heads and appreciate very very good music, And they now agree that most Metal bands are much better than most pop artists and bands.

I understand they're about to head to studio to start recording the next album and it should be out 2024.
Of course, Floor being pregnant and exhausted and soon having a very small baby might cause some issues, but I believe she has tools to record vocals at home if need be.
However, they won't be touring the album, and nobody knows then they will tour again.

Nightwish is fantastic, and never disappoint. I think that the perfect concert would be Nightwish and Within Temptation, and would be 3 hours long. ;) Heck yeah. Now, it's been awhile since you reacted to Within Temptation so I figure you'll be revisiting them soon. (Hopefully???) Nightwish announced recently that they will release a new album in 2024 which will have 12 new songs and will be also introduced with 3 new Music Videos. Since June of this year they are taking a break from touring for private Reasons (which according to Nightwish have nothing to do with Floor being pregnant). According to Tuomas next album will be the final part in a trilogy and a "logical conclusion to the last both albums (Endless Forms Most Beautiful and Human. :II: Nature).
