  • Blackspot is a very common disease for anyone who grow roses in the hot and humid Southeastern region in the US. Thru out the year, I have tried to spray which ended up burned leaves most of the time, and it still doesn't work too well for me. This year I tried a different approach in preparing my roses and strengthen my roses to resist the disease better. So far, I found good result so I am so ready to share with y'all. Hope y'all will have some success in your garden this year and really get to enjoy the blooms better!

I love your no nonsense approach. Your tips and suggestions really motivated me to start my rose garden. Doesn’t need to be complicated or fancy. Love it! Looking forward to more content. Also do you know if the new fertilizer will be ok for zone 9B?

Lol!!! Thank you! Honestly, I think lots of people make rose gardening soooo complicated. At the end of the day, it is all about sun, water and fertilizing. Roses are not picky with the fertilizer. I usually just use whatever that is the cheapest that I can get as long as the NPK balance is right. Yes, this new fertilizer will be ok for any zone.

Really interesting video. I’ve been using all sorts of rose fertiliser including pellets, liquid, and rose tonic which obsorbes through the leaves. Pellets I find are extremely expensive when I have almost 100 rose . A really quick question, can I use this instead of the regular rose fertiliser instead or would I need both? Many thanks

I love the cart with the wheels. I need to pick me up one. I will try the sulfate that's something I havent tried. One thing I notice blackspot in my front beds is not a big issue like the roses in the backyard. Maybe it could be a drainage issue in back and there are only 4 roses in front verses almost 40 if not more than 40 in the backyard.

You are welcome! People usually mix 1 tablespoon per gallon of water for Potassium Salfate. Since I already add miracle gro in the mix and it already has some K in it (15-30-15) I just want to keep it on the safe side by adding just a little bit in my mix. Last thing we want to have is to overfeeding our plant. But definitely feel free to experiment with the dosage. I do see good result with just a small amount.
