My first time at growing Roses, I’ve had people tell me that they are a lot of work, but they’re so beautiful and fragrant. With your help I hope to succeed.
I NEVER comment on videos but had to share how much I love your work, your clear explanations, and how you film your videos. It’s direct, to the point, easy to understand, and you make all of this very approachable. I had 50 DA’s installed this spring, taking my rose count up to 73. I was gone for work for six weeks and the garden was under the care of an “experienced” gardener while I was gone. It was an absolute disaster to come back to, she killed some of the new roses, and ignored others altogether. I have a lot of work to do but your videos give me hope and reassurance.
New rose bush owner here. Easy-going talk and kept it real. AND great close up video capture showing where the cut was and to show descriptive visuals of the various things you were teaching. All the things a new student needs. Thank you. For those reasons, for me, this is the best video I have seen out of about 4 watched so far, and because of this video, I do not feel the need to keep searching for a good beginner video of deadheading roses. Thank you🙂
I know I’m watching this a year later but this was so incredibly informative. Even your offhand references and classifications informed me of so many things. Thank you!
Wow man you have got some beautiful red roses that just pop! And the rest are awesome! I moved roses from my wife house when she sold her house and moved them to my/ our house and all 5 served! I put a new bed 3ft x20ft lights and I bought more and I have been trying to learn all i can about starts care i thank you and everyone that I have visited on UA-cam and one day may i be half as good as you! God bless! Thank you!
Awesome presentation! Thank you very much! I learned so much on how to properly care for my rose bushes. I have 2 and struggled with them. I'm hopeful this will inspire me to do better
I really appreciate that. I have many videos on care, be sure to check them out and ask questions as needed. Second, be sure to buy good varieties. You mentioned your two are struggling. It may not be your care but a tough variety to grow from the start. Let me know if you need suggestions.
Great video all the way around. No rambling at all! Straightforward with great helpful information for a beginner such as myself. Very easy to listen to. No need to constantly rewind to understand, but only to admire some of the beautiful 🌹. Definitely subscribed!
Thanks for the detailed explanations, which are helpful to me. I’ve started to timely deadhead flowers before they may drop off to transmit pest eggs or plant disease.
Really appreciate that comment. For most videos I just talk but this time I wrote down a few key points I wanted to hit. Thanks again for the comments.
Thank you so much! Building my rose garden little by little. Love learning all I can. You did an excellent job explaining things to a newbie. Your garden is beautiful!
Thank you so much for this!! I have two rose bushes and one isn’t blooming at all right now and now I know it’s because I didn’t cut in the correct spot. Very informative video!!
Your video was very informative I have just been to an apartment that has beautiful beautiful roses but yet I wanted to make sure what to do when I see that the blooms are starting to die.
OMYGAAAD. SEEING YOUR ROSES KILL ME, I ENVY YOU SO MUCH. ROSE LIKE THIS GOOD FORM AND HIGH CENTRES ARE MY OBSESSION BUT I DONT HAVE NONE. I ALWAYS DREAM TO HAVE ROSE LIKE THIS BUT HERE IN THE NORTHEASTERN PART OF INDIA IN A SMALL TOWN THESE ROSES ARE LIKE A HEAVENS AWAY. I REALLY WANT THEM. 😭😭😭. THESE are soooo beautiful so beautiful. If i have these roses i wont even sleep for days... There in America you could get each and every roses you re so blessed. I use to see in youtube those bareroot roses so healthy roses to buy from Perkins and jacksons and many nurseries...I envy it so much..They are so good quality and use to dream having them.
Beautiful roses……my darn roses are full of yellow leaves and leaves with holes…. I’m preparing to spray them before cutting them back before winter….. I also have not added mulch…. my goal next spring is to have roses 🌹 like yours….. green with envy of your rose garden 🪴
I am so glad you said we don’t need to cut down to the 5 leaves because sometimes that is just way too far down. Also, when I do remove the head should I dispose of it far from the plant or can I leave it in a bin near the plant...does it matter?
Omg....... Your roses are sooooooo amazingly beautiful. You know what actually are beautiful roses. You have the best collection of roses in the world Always collect only these types of roses not like these famous David Austin roses which are so fluffy no shape no forms. Those looks like just a rose with just a flower. But these types of roses are the best .🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I try so hard with roses, I’m just not good with them. Someone around the corner from me doesn’t take care of their yard but they get the most beautiful roses on their plants.
Your rose garden is BEAUTIFUL 🤩! It’s a dream of mine to have a home 🏡 one day with a proper back yard to have one of my own. You can see how much you love and care for them. They’re absolutely thriving! Are hybrid teas really that hard to take care of?
Absolutely beautiful rose garden! I finally am having success growing roses in south Florida, but am new to them. What are the poles are around each bush?
I live close to Charlotte north Carolina and my roses especially the hybrid teas don't look like that they are like sticks with a few leaves and with all the rain we get don't do well but my David Austin rosebush is growing like crazy
Appreciate the comments. Yes, knock out roses can be beautiful especially in a landscaping aspect. When I first started growing hybrid teas, I still had a few knockouts around the foundation of the house. You have 30 of them, have you tried a hybrid tea before? They make great cut flowers and some of them produce a fragrance that can’t be beat! 🌹
Your rose leaves look so nice and deep green. Mine are not so green. Do I need more nitrogen? I also noticed what looked to be Sevin residue on the leaves. Yes?
I had a neighbor ask me, "Why are you cutting down your roses?" I said, "I'm not... I'm deadheading them." I explained how it helps the plant to create new blooms, and be fuller when it comes back. I use a battery powered small hedge clipper on mine. I made sure the cuts are clean. I actually have the best looking rose bush in the neighborhood. It's actually a square hedge now. 🐀🐾
I have Mr. Lincoln I planted it for memory of my husband's passing. Gave me a rose immediately never seen that before must have been him letting me know he's watching over me😢
