I've been on Vraylar for three weeks now for MDD and it's like a magic pill for me. I've been so depressed for so long that I forgot what it's like to feel normal. I'm suddenly sleeping well and only 7-8 hours a day instead of 12-15. I actually have energy and can shower, do basic housework and run errands without having a complete breakdown. I have to pay about $500 out of pocket a month after insurance for this but it's totally worth it if I can feel this way. I haven't noticed any side effects except increased hunger. I don't know if it has affected my weight as I don't weigh myself but I'll find out in a couple weeks at my monthly weigh in.
I've been on this medication for 2 weeks and so far there have been several instances where I could feel going into a one of my downward spiral depressions - I could feel my thoughts circling down the drain - but I was actually able to pull myself out with breathing techniques learned from therapy and redirect my thoughts in a different direction. I have never been able to do this before; usually the gravitational pull of the depression is too strong for me to really do much of anything except cry. I think it works very nicely for me.
I was just prescribed this for some depressive symptoms and overall lack of motivation to do basic things. I’m listed as having mood disorder, but not bipolar. Also GAD, and PTSD. I’ve been working with my Dr and willing to try different things. I just didn’t realize how new this medication was. lol I’m always just a bit skeptical when something is new.
It regulated my sleep, fixed my mood, i met with friends, was out of bed, depression gone. Seriously did like everything. I had insane jitters though it was unbearable. When i stoped the medicine the side effects went away and i enjoyed a week of the effects. That was a great week@@coldfact.
Hi there, I’ve just been put on Sodium Valproate (Epilim). This is different to Valproic Acid. Was wondering if you could do a video on Sodium Valproate? There is not much information out there in this. Would be much appreciated. Cheers
But what is it about the medication that causes increased risk of strokes and heart effects? Whats the mechanism. Is it because of the metabolic effects of anti psychotics in general that increase the risk of strokes and cardiovascular issues and not something specific to this drug?
to put it simply, because this is a side-effect of stimulants. Vrylar is basically a designer stimulant drug. It likely increases heart rate/blood pressure a little bit, but I wouldn't necessarily think it's a big risk.
I have been on seroquel for 12 years. I was on 700 mg a day. My dr and I have slowly decreased it down to 100mg a day. Now my psych wants me to stop seroquel completely and start vraylar. I’m nervous but hopeful.
I am from Iraq. I need an urgent answer. Please, doctor. I used cariprazine 3 mg with Depakine 500 mg in the morning and 500 mg at night, and the auditory and visual hallucinations did not change. What is the ruling on this case?

Does vraylar help at all with anxiety? My girlfriend was prescribed vraylar and her psychiatrist told her it would help with her anxiety in addition with Ativan and Effexor.

Just wait a few years you will be seeing commercials on TV for Caplyta for antidepressant.
I had to stop taking caplyta after it made me feel like I had the flu. I call it Craplyta.
