I do absolutely want to say though that you are an incredible teacher of Crochet and explain everything so well as well as truly showing, slowly, what and how to do it! I'm definitely following for other videos! 😊

I am an avid knitter, but haven't learned much about crochet because I get frustrated and befuddled about how to manage the yarn tension. You've done a wonderful job of stepping through how to beat do that at different stages of the stitch, and I am so happy! Thank you!

I'm so glad you've found this helpful! It's funny because many people assume I learned to knit first because of how I hold my yarn. But I learned crochet first and that was just the way I got the tension to work out right for me! Thanks for watching.

This is so much more fun than putting my initials on my cords!

Is anyone else nervous about the possibility of the layer of yarn getting too hot and creating a fire hazard?!?! Just me?!?!

The tape is a great idea I would do that regardless of the cord being tore or not.

Cool idea! I think I’ll do my earphone cable so it won’t tangle so easily.

    Is this safe? Like firehazard-wise?

So I can't guarantee it is... I mainly use this cable when I'm near my phone/awake. I haven't had any issues personally, and the way I see it it's not much different than say the cable getting caught in a blanket. But it's gonna be up to you whether you feel comfortable using a cable that's been crocheted around or not 😄

FYI this is not a single crochet stitch, it’s a slip stitch 🙄😒

    • @CraftersAutonomous

So it actually is a single crochet stitch! The way we can tell the difference is because we yarn over twice for the single crochet stitch, but only yarn over once for a slip stitch. If we were using slip stitches, that very first yarn over would also get pulled through the loop already on our hook. But for this project, the first yarn over just gets pulled around the cable. Then, the second yarn over goes through the loop we created with the first yarn over and through the loop that was originally on our hook. Hope that clears it up a little bit!
