Interesting. New jeans? Normal wet/sweat type moisture that happened? Was it extensive or spotty like it depended on the leather composition where it occurred?
walletopia in my opinion, i think it happened just from rubbing on the jeans, i don’t have any particularly new jeans, the color transfer happened on the corners of the wallet where the wallet folds. may be just from that particular part of the wallet having so much contact/rubbing on the jeans.
walletopia A bit late, but I’ve had my Slim Sleeve for four years now and it’s going strong. Used virtually every day. The leather has a nice patina (I got the darker cocoa colour). The two card slots have of course stretched a little and are now slightly looser than I’d like, but other than that it’s in perfect condition.
I've had the slim sleeve for almost 10 years, it's lasted and only as of the last few months have ai considered replacing it, probably with a new slim sleeve.
Ive been using the blue one for 7 years now and no defects or anything. I love it and the only reason I am thinking on buying a new one is because I am tired of the color I have. I will admit the color did wear out over time, but I also cleaned it with lysol wipes a few times.
Been using this wallet for exactly one year now. I don’t abuse my wallets (throwing it here and there or putting sharp objects alongside it), stuff it to the brim with 10 cards or purposely tug at the pull strap with force and it’s held up extremely well. The only difference I noticed is the coloring by which it got slightly darker and personally, it looks more elegant and charming now than when I first bought it due to patina. As mentioned in the video, there are some stretch marks and compression marks around the edges since I put them in my tight jeans for long hours but my Prada and Braun Buffel wallets are no different. Only downside I can point out is the pricing which may be expensive to some, however, it’s guaranteed to last for 3 years minimum if you put a little effort into taking care of it. It’ll probably last me 7 since I apply leather cleaner and conditioner once every 2 to 3 months
I absolutely love my bellroy slim sleeve its my favorite wallet besides my card pocket zipper wallet i just orderd a bellroy mini sling lite bellroy is my favorite brand
Hey wallotopia, quick question Im trying to decide between the bellroy and Aurochs that you recently reviewed.. Based on durability, looks, etc.. which one would you say is best for your money?
Many considerations. The Gravity wallet is bigger in size and thickness due to more leather (can be good if you want that), while the Slim Sleeve is small and more thin, thus fitting better in your front pocket. The Gravity handles international currency while the Slim sleeve not unless you double fold it. If you're hard on your wallet, the Gravity will do you better, but the leather on the Slim Sleeve will last a long time if not abused.
Dude I’ve been debating on these too for a while as well! I want a wallet that can handle cards and cash (the most cards I carry are probably like 8 cards) while staying slim and I can’t decide because the gravity wallet looks like it can hold more but is bulky...
My only issue with the wallet is the leather quality, look and feel. Doesn’t look or feel premium after having a closer look at them. However from their website, it seems that they collaborated with Barneys to launch a line called Bellroy XO Barneys New York. From the photos, those Barneys collaboration pieces look premium with grain leather. Any chance to review those Mark?
Thanks Marvin, we have one of their designer edition wallets which we'll be reviewing soon. I'll take a look at the collaboration product. I too would be interested to see if they used different leather for it or their usual.
Dude, you're killing me! I'm really struggling with the Apex, another Bellroy way to juice up the Slim Sleeve, put in some magnets and make you bend over to buy it....okay, I'll get it....
Not a fan of Bellroy. The tab impression after extensive usage doesn't look too good. Can you do a review of Walletera's Double Espresso T and the Swag HC? Do you have any Keysmart wallets reviews down the pipeline?
Thanks Ali, I really like the designs that Bellroy comes out with, but the leather seems to be their weakness. Others like Aurochs and IKEPOD are taking their designs and using more durable, thicker leather so we'll see how it goes. We'll pick up the Walletera's Double Expresso T and Swag for review. We have the Keysmart wallet in the publishing pipeline so watch for it.
@@walletopia I concur about the Auroch wallets. Have a Gravity style from them. Been curious about the IKEPOD designs. Been holding off mostly due the sharp corners. Looking forward to seeing those reviews. Thanks for your response. Keep up the good work!
@Erik Kvalheim Yet your opinion of my opinion was 'interesting' LOL. I am aware that the pull-tab was on this wallet from day 1 which doesn't negate my opinion. I like the aesthetics of my wallet nice and clean which there are many out there to choose from. I personally am not a fan. Simple as that.
We got them in a week or so ago, the regular and the mini. I really like how they've turned common design ideas upside down. There are a couple things I don't like off hand, but I like their thinking. The review on the regular one is coming very soon. The wallets shipped to me from Colombia, so that's where I'm thinking they're located unless they manufacture and ship from there, but their HQ is located somewhere else. Do either of you know by chance?
@Erik Kvalheim It's coming up for review, but my initial impressions was the pull tab flopping around on the top, I didn't like that as my initial impression and could see that being bothersome with daily use. But the rest of the wallet is innovative and functional.
They're very close. The Note Sleeve, when closed is 100 x 88mm. The Slim Sleeve, when closed is 93 x 77mm. If you don't carry much cash, then I'd still go with the Slim Sleeve. However, the ability to carry coins and with a cash pocket, the Note Sleeve isn't much bigger and does provide more features. Thickness-wise they're very close, 8mm (Note Sleeve) versus 7mm.
walletopia yea true good point! I came across the hide and seek, as well as the low wallet. I am so torn now because they are all nice and appealing lol your videos are great btw!
Hi Pristine, yes the leather is cut thin to accommodate the design of the wallet and there have been some who have reported problems, but the overwhelming majority don't have issues and they've lasted for years. Of course, it all depends on how its used and in that case, heavy abuse wouldn't work for this wallet like it would for others.
I am not a fan of Bellroy products...low quality and overpriced! I think Nomad wallets beat this particular model in both price and quality hands down!
They make great products, we reviewed their slim wallet here, ua-cam.com/video/CZ_KphjyIVU/v-deo.html I wish they made more wallet variations, they do a great job.
@Erik Kvalheim Nomad appears to have high satisfaction among owners. I really liked the wallet. Too bad they don't make other models, like something smaller.
We keep hearing durability concerns about Bellroy products, what’s been your experience?
I have the Hide and Seek for about a month now, no problems with durability so far, just issues with color transfer from jeans to wallet

Thank you for also including foreign bank notes in your reviews! It's a small, but very important detail.
Happy to do it, we have many who watch from all over the world.

I liked how you test using other wider currencies now. Good one.
Thanks, having traveled a good part around the world, I think it's good to know what works and what doesn't.
I've been waiting for this exact review for a while, thanks Mark!
You bet! Thanks for watching!

0:53 Love this moment
Nice colour like coffee with creamer
I have had my Bellroy slim sleeve wallet for 6 years and have had no issues with durability
Great to hear! It seems to be a hit or miss thing for many and also the model.
At 3:09 you say DOLLARS fit - is that CAD and USD, or just the latter?
Euro also works folded once. You have to turn the notes by 90 degrees.
Thankyou for the review. Yet for those that have bills thicker than US dollars (like Euros)... make 2 folds in thirds instead
First of all, congrat for your presentation. What app you use to add animated annotation to your video ? Thank you.
Thanks Monsif, I use Adobe Premiere Pro for all my editing and pull in the motion graphics I need.

Review the titan x wallet cashstrap version i feel it's as good as the ridge for half the price

Hello! How are you! Do it fit 20 and 50 €uros notes folded in half?
Thank you for your time
I am using the slim sleeve as more of a card holder for business cards and lesser used store cards.
Love the video 🤬🤛🤜
Thanks Tommy!
Hi walletopia - What type of pen is this?!
The wallet smells good because it doesn't have RFID? Does anyone know what that means?
It’s a common thread in my videos. Search for RFID is a scam you’ll see why 😁
Please review trayvax axis
Thanks! Yes, we have the Axis in our publishing calendar so it's coming up!

@wallettopia great review. I am debating between this wallet or the Andar ranger. Any suggestions on what’s the better option?
The Bellroy Slim Sleeve, no question. It's a bit expensive, but its functionality, footprint and usability is far superior.

walletopia one more question lol the slim sleeve or note sleeve ? I know they are roughly the same size, about 7mm difference . Thoughts ?
They're very close. The Note Sleeve, when closed is 100 x 88mm. The Slim Sleeve, when closed is 93 x 77mm. If you don't carry much cash, then I'd still go with the Slim Sleeve.
