- The second set of portals launched in New York & Dublin and it made me realize that the tourists and residents of Vilnius and Lublin are much more polite and responsible! :)

I feel that Lithuanians treasure what they have more and are afraid of losing them + I feel like Lithuanians being more introverted and afraid of being seen as weird or idiots makes it so there is less "vandalism" for lack of a better term. I don't mean to say that Lithunians are better because of it, I just feel its a product of history and material conditions
It could be. As a Spaniard, I must say that you’re just better educated though 😂. At least that was my impression there. I was quite amazed by clean streets and the quiet and polite people. I hope one day a Madrid-Vilnius portal gets installed, but I honestly fear what we might bestow upon your eyes if that ever happens lol. Would probably not last long
@@efectovogel8295 Maybe I am in the minority, but when I hear people say "I was surprised that the streets were clean and the people nice" I feel kinda insulted, like you don't say these things when you visit some place in Austria, but when it's eastern europe suddenly it's surprising. I realize the 90's wers rough, but it was 30 years ago
@@Max-pk6uc It seems poor wording in my part, sorry. I haven’t visited Lithuania in the 90s (mainly because I wasn’t born yet :)), so I can’t talk about those times. I say this out of comparing it to my own country. Vilnius city centre (which I know doesn’t represent the whole country) is another world when compared to Madrid city center (which, again, doesn’t represent the whole country). In Madrid, streets are dirty, people are very loud (this does represent almost all of Spain lol) and people are generally not that kind to each other (for example, it’s weird to say hello when you enter a bathroom or to say sorry if you bump into someone in the metro).
Thus, personally when I say that streets are cleaner and people are nicer, I’m comparing it mainly to my own country, or something else I’m familiar with. I must say that I did have good expectations of the people and the streets before visiting Lithuania, and it seems they were generally true (again, keeping in mind that this take is extremely biased).
I don’t care that much how it was in the 90s, since I understand those were very rough times. I mainly care about the progress you’ve made once you were free to determine your own direction. I do know that is a common view over here, though. But I think us Western and Southern Europeans need to stop seeing ourselves as superior to “Eastern racist and misogynistic barbarians” and start realising that we are brothers that have a lot to learn from each other and all our beautiful cultures.

Edit: can’t say anything about Austria, but I did hate Amsterdam 😅. Extremely chaotic and rude people (probably just because it was summer and it’s a very popular tourist destination and big city). I also should add that I love Madrid despite all its flaws!
Drunk people will just keep doing drunk stuff. Leave it open, no censoring, the novelty will wear off.
This portals started popping because it worked fine in Lithuania. Woke people think all societies and humans are same 😂😂😂😂😂

To be honest I would like this portal beeing somewhere in Asia. I can just drive from Lithuania to Poland
@@narutoincore123 I ques Vilnius - Taipei and Vilnius - Tokyo, or Vilnius -Seoul would work perfectly.
With the portal being where it is, if it connected to somewhere in Asia... boy the Taiwanese would either see people scurrying to work or some ver confused drunk and or high people, as well as bewildered homeless people thinking they've been transported to Asia
@narutoincore123 (With all due respect to Vilnius), the inhabitants of Seoul or Taipei probably have no idea that Vilnius exists. In my opinion, the intention of the creator of this installation is to virtually connect places that are somehow connected by history.
