Great layout. Good model railways are often reinventing themselves. It's Utube channels like yours that is keeping the hobby alive and moving it forward. Bill, an old bloke from California
Awesome again as usual. I am in awe that you just give it a go and change your mind midway through. I would have a mini meltdown whereas you just crack on with it.
I like it ...... take another 6 inches and give yourself the space to use behind the shed better. Surely the coal wagons would go in front of the coal boxes. You can not hump coal from one wagon to another to get it into the coal box. Maybe one wagon is one coal box. I hope you see this as a helpful suggestion. You are lucky to have that man cave space.
The shed is like that so that locos can exit through the backscene and be changed out if i wanted to, there is method to the madness 😃 the narrow board also allows room for the Ongar fiddleyard once built. Yeah the thinking behind the coal is that a wagon or two come in, they offload the contents of the rear wagon, then you would re-marshall the wagons so the next full one is at the rear and then unload that one.
Nice informative video… Explanation and description a bit lengthy, Like the way you show the build, and new alterations to layout looking good . x The Bigfella x
Steam on the met style operation. If my memory is correct they had a similar sort of setup at Amersham when the steam on the met ran. Plenty of options locos wise aswell in that case. The ongar tin shed is now no more as it blew down in the heavy winds we have been having recently
Yeah Rickmansworth you are thinking of! It was a very interesting setup and i believe they had the loco changeover done in as little as 3 minutes or less. Mind blowing really! Oh blimey did it really!! I often wonder what is going to happen with that, as it used to be a proper engine shed back in the day, to see something similar built would be fantastic.
@@UndergroundEricmost definitely I work on the carriage and wagon dept there and have been pleading for some kind of inside space to do bodywork on the carriages
For the coal stage, maybe kit bash it so the end by the wagon is sloped outward to produce a little ramp to slide the coal down when hand unloading a wagon
@@UndergroundEric You superglued the copper-clad sleeper to the webbing and the workbench before soldering to the rails. A friendly health warning, do not inhale the fumes. The fumes from the flux in the solder are also carcenogenic.
Croxley Tip. Was a “rubbish” idea anyway!
You win the dad joke award for today, 🏆 just my kind of humour 😂😂😂
Am always fascinated how you make a simple thing insanely complicated and yet manage to make it look like the best play when it's done.

Thanks so much Bill, an old bloke from California! 😂
Appreciate it mate
Safety Squints, definitely a perfect accompaniment to the Safety flip flops seen on South East Asia construction sites.
Now theres an idea…..
You are doing a great job
Thankyou!
What a very neat depot, it looks naturally laid out.. Fits the space very nicely.
The bullhead track looks superb.
Thanks Mark.
Yeah im very happy with the track, its defo Peco’s best product
Like how you used the flexi track rail across the inspection pits Eric....Ongar looks interesting too...all looking great...
Cheers David! Made my life much easier that

Super looking steam depot.Another enjoyable video, thanks.
Lots to do but it should look nice! Thankyou
A Class 08 is quite a good choice for a layout depicting the Ongar Branch of the Central Line.
Gonna be a great 2024 with all your projects you have planning. Hope to be with you all the way. Very well done Eric, all the best.
Lets hope so mate! Thanks for dropping in!

Great video love the updates
Glad you like them!
Top job Eric. Like the way you have used the curves as they enter the shed etc. 👍
Cheers, yeah it took a bit of thinking on what to do with the space 🙂
Another great video Eric
Thanks man

Superb and once again, thought provoking. Each time you put out a video, something gets subtly changed on my layout 😂
Sorry about that 😂
Looking awesome. I designed a laser cut weighbridge hut for the club’s Lamborn layout. If you’d like me to cut you one for Ongar just let me know.

@@UndergroundEric yer they have a had some small pallets of bricks stacked up there for years so may be the time to think to have a proper shed built
@@kineticrailthat would be nice if it happened! Tbf they defo could make good use of a larger storage shed or something.

As a member of the Epping Ongar Railway Volunteer Society, I’m interested in anything you might do on this section of the London Underground.

Thats a very good idea mate. Thanks for that!!
Good job !
Cheers
ongar! , you are branching out, really need a west ruislip then ? all the best eric
You could say that, although if you look it up, Harefield was actually planned to be a Central Line station! 😎😎
So many "However"s! However, rethinking is not to be ridiculed 😀
I am my own worst enemy when it comes to changing my mind!
Turntable board is amazing. Where did you get it from?
Hiya its from tim horn mate 🙂🙂
This shed is nice is it for cows or hay
Incidentally, how did you cut the holes for the ash pits?
Used a multitool mate 😇
@@UndergroundEric Thank you!

Superglue and a soldering iron are not a good idea. The fumes from the hot superglue are very bad for you.

Hi eric how was New York

Can you do a locomotive collection vedeo
Yeah will do at some point 👍
Did you say “Sac off” or “Suck Off” sorry I’m 65 so modern street slang goes straight over my head ?
Sack off mate, aka get rid of that idea :)
