On Ogbomosho, Let Everybody Know Its Place
Having heard that the imbroglio between the chief Imam of Ogbomosho land and the Soun of Ogbomosho had been put to rest, we could all see the happiness on the faces of every lover of peace. It shows that we all want peace to reign in Ogbomosho without compromising our religion. But it seems nothing has changed. They are only trying to tear the Imam's garment of honor.
It needs to be noted that placing Imams under traditional rulers who are not Muslim was a mistake of our forefathers which the present Muslim must correct. Traditional ruler is an authority and institution and Muslims also have their authority, Emir. In the absence of an Emir, the Imam serves as the leader of Muslims and not Oba.
We can't continue to follow the wrong traditions. Every religion has its place in Nigeria's constitution and it is time for everyone to know where it belongs. A strong Islamic institution in Yorubaland must be established. It will put everybody in its place.
