- What Happened At The Police Station In Ibadan
There have been what appeared like orchestrated reports on the face-to-face meeting of the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye and the Chief Imam, Alhaji Takiat Yunus Olusina Ayilara at the Oyo State Police Command's State Intelligence Dept, Eleyele, Ibadan on Wednesday.
The Chief Imam was invited by the Police for interrogation, which was done in the presence of the Soun by the Police led by ACP Martins Bamgboye.
NOTE: It was an interrogation of the Chief Imam in the presence of Soun.
The Chief Imam begged the Soun after which conditions for resolution of all issues were laid.
Issues and the CONDITIONS are:
1. The matter is between him and the Ayilara family. Therefore, he should return to Ayilara family, because it is the Ayilara family that the palace recognized.
2. He should present the story about the title of Chief Imam the way it is, against what he presented in court and what he wrote in response to the query.
3. The Mosque belongs to the palace and the title of the Imam of Ogbomosoland is within the Soun power to award.
4. The Chief Imam must reverse all the appointments he made without Soun's approval.
5. The Police advised the Chief Imam to withdraw the several court cases he instituted against the Soun and his Chiefs - heeding that, is his prerogative anyway.
6. Soun noted that the Chief Imam’s repeated affirmation that he is not under the Soun does not resonate with reality. Kabiyesi insisted that litigation on whether or not the Soun has authority over the Chief Imam subsist so that the Court can decide the status of the Chief Imam.
7. Soun made it clear that should the Chief Imam insists on a free reign, the only option will be for him to vacate the Ogbomoso Central Mosque forthwith because the Mosque belongs to the Soun and that it is because he (Chief Imam) is in the Soun’s Mosque that he’s regarded as the Chief Imam.
8. Soun made it clear that as father to all, he had no business with removing the Chief Imam in as much as his paternity issue with the Ayilara family is resolved.
