- Hi all, this time I'm going through how I set up the Active Drag Brake on the ISDT ESC70 and test it out.

Been running an isdt for a couple months , I have active dragbrake activated and on setting 4. My drag holds back on throttle to a slow crawl . Locks solid in neutral . Tried 2 motors, 16t 5slot and a 35t 3slot . Drag is definitely stronger on 3slot . I also changed throttle curve setting . So much smoother to drive with an expo curve.
Interesting, might have to give it a try with a 3slot motor, have a couple kicking around somewhere. 🤙
Good evening Phil nicely done once again your explanation is very good 👍👍👍 .
Thanks Geoff. 🤙
Great Video Phil. I wish you would review everything . Next time I have half an hour I shall set up my actice break and take it for a spin . Thank you again .
Nice one. And the best part is that if you get out and don’t like it, you can connect up and switch it off again 🤙
Excellent Video, I like to see this ESC getting some positive attention.
Thanks. It does seem to have been almost snubbed by a lot of people. Now they’ve sorted the teething issues it seems to be a great budget option.
What about starting force and braking force how does those two work? Is it higher the number stronger the braking force and does starting force mean how strong the brake is when off the throttle?
@@justinw523 yes, higher the brake force the stronger the drag brake. Start up force is how quickly the power is ramped up when you hit the throttle. If you lower it you’ll get a smoother start up, but too low and you might find the motor will stall out.
Cool video do you think it would work and fit in a scx24 ??
It would probably work, I’ve seen people use hobbywing 1080s in them so I don’t see why it wouldn’t. Size wise though it’s going to be tough to fit it in with a receiver as well, and they are pretty heavy for a 1:24th scale. Good luck, let me know how it works out if you do try.
🤙
It appeared as u never reactivated the active control at the bottom
That’s right. For a crawler in forward/reverse mode, the bottom setting needs to stay disabled. No idea why, but that’s what ISDT themselves say to do. The bottom option is for road cars that are set to forward/brake/reverse. 🤙
