One of the things the Beatles were frustrated about after 1966 is that their music became too complicated to replicate live onstage. But it appears all they needed was simply a fifth member and thirty piece orchestra.
Scott Anderson, There is a Beatles cover band, The Analogues, who go into fine detail to try to play the Beatles songs as close as they can to the original versions live. They also play many of the Beatles songs that the Beatles did not play live, because, as you said, the songs where too complicated to play live. This is a link to The Analogues version of "I am the Walrus" on UA-cam. ua-cam.com/video/Oi7Lc4SlhAM/v-deo.html
It occurred to me the other day that anytime a piece by, say, Mozart or Beethoven is played by a symphony orchestra, that group is, in fact and deed, a tribute band. Most folks have no problem with that. It's the music that's eternal, not the artists.
One of the best John Lennon songs ever written. Strawberry Fields, too. These guys gave a good performance but nothing can come close to the way I would have liked them to play and see them. Can you imagine if we had more videos of The White Album or Sgt., Pepper's?
shame they stopped performing live after 1966 . Technology had improved as far as sound in 68 and 69 so it would have been great to hear the Beatles perform live music from Sgt Pepper Mag Mystery Tour and the White Album. espeically in indoor arenas. It sort of took away from some of their legacy when they stopped performing
yes so sad , they seemed to enjoy the rooftop concert , i think had they decided to do a one off show they'd have realised what they had missed. As you say technology moved on quite quickly within a short time , it would have been possible to replicate the songs with an orchestra etc. The Bootlegs do a fantastic show.
@@quality333 Yes and no. I never saw them live, it didn't matter. I'd rather have the original recordings just as they are, with a video clip now and then.
Unlike other Tribute Bands..., the guy playing John actually wears the clothes from Magical Mystery Tour when performing I Am The Walrus 😃 I am impressed..., he actually takes a different approach to the wardrobe 🤘
I saw these guys in the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow last night. Oh my God what a gig! Totally phenomenal. Seeing these guys live is totally out of this world.
Adam is one of the best all-around Lennon impersonators period. His one fault, if there is one, shows here. John could create a very identifiable scratch in his voice, which Adam doesn't reach.
I ve seen them a week ago , and the bootleg Beatles still buzzing in my head . Great show , great performance and next time i Will see them Again . Great job and yes im a big Beatles fan
As a kid growing up in the 60s, near Liverpool , we used to sing ' umpa umpa stick it up your jumper' in the playground.. I often wondered whether we sang it because of this song, or whether John took the line from the playground chant?
i went and see these guys stoned once and it was best gig of my life lol
Get a job Sir!
@@cahillgreg How do you think he bought the ticket?
@@cahillgreg just cause he gets high doesn't mean he's jobless. Maybe you should get a job
Hard to pull off live....
Good job. I got fooled for a second. Great cover.

Try to listen to Reo Brothers sir.
it was amps
Amplification wasn't sophisticated enough back then , no backing tracks or synths when they were touring ...

Excellent point
For The Beatles…it’s both.
Neither Mozart or Beethoven had their performances recorded though. So no.
They have a good slightly distorted tube sound overall, perfect for that era. Kudos to their sound man.
They are so good!!! And the guy who impersonates john looks just like him!
Incredible... because peaple are alway´s more like John?
He actually sounds quite like John Lennon
Cillablack
Javier parisi looks like John

They couldn't take the screaming fans and the chaos it created; it was actually effecting them musically.

Whoever played as George needs to calm down. George wasn't that active
***** no but i watched his live performances with the Beatles and he wasn't shaking like he had seizures lol

Omg Adam Hastings does a perfect job on John!!! love ittt =D
At first... i was so confused. "John has really youthful skin here." xD
The pinnacle of all tributes. This is amazing!
this is not an easy song to cover....gr8 job to the Bootleggers
My wife keep wanting me to do a version on my eight track...I keep telling her she doesn't get how hard that is
The Bootles
This is fucking spot on man.. Right down to that snare drum tone, and the vocal effect.

Was the "scratch" entirely natural, or was distortion added? (btw, I do actually hear some "scratch" in Adam's voice here, but not as much as John's)

At first I was thinking, damn! That's amazing video quality for the 60s. But then I saw they were impersonators, but still a great performance
Wow what amazing footage of the Beatles, the sound quality is great . How is it I've never seen this
this isn't the actual Beatles.
Pug Scorpion Cow You actually thought I was serious ?
Tommy Haynes you never know, judging by most of the people on the Internet.

Sounds very good, and got to give them credit for having an orchestra behind them....
Pretty good job lads!
The Walrus was John.
+thevisitor No the walrus was Paul, The Beatles even said it
+bebe123 when im 64 john was the egg man wasnt he....
daverlb I think the "eggman" refers to a nickname used by Eric Burdon of the Animals.
Here's another clue to disgorge: the Walrus was George.
And here's another interesting thingo: the Walrus was Ringo.
Fine job
