Beautiful spots, thanks for sharing, David. Using an instrumental version of ''Putting On The Ritz'' while talking about a posh hotel was well inspired 😉
The 2:14 mark sign looking for vinyl. Love it! Wonderful showcase right after. Patty does that stretch routine like Jill when we’re on the road. “She’s got some walking poles” 😂 .. I enjoyed your hotel review. Patty’s traveled so much over the years, we always laugh at how content I am with what’s often an overrated hotel. On that note, I wrote several Yelp reviews, but tapered off a few years ago. I’ll send you a link. I’ve been told by friends that some are hilarious! Putting on the Ritz soundtrack was a surprise. ✌️
Indeed. From where were staying eastwards to the coast, up until the 90s it was industry (including shipbuilding - or ship repair at least) more or less all the way. De-industrialisation has its merits, but some terrible downsides too. I've cycled to and from the coast, on both sides of the river, and it's a shame to see most of the industry gone.
Hey David. Lovely tour, with an Ice Cream to boot. Cheers

The cinematography in this video is top notch! Nice looking hotel! "Hopes may rise on the Grasmere."
A great 'spot' of an unintentional song reference! Good work Brian! 🤓

Nice 👌 need to visit Newcastle- never been 😮
The shame of it!
Newcastle must have changed a lot since you grew up there. Very little heavy industry to see.
