  • The purpose is to extend the engine's life and prevent catastrophic failure. Also, we had a small chain slapping inside the engine. This motorcycle has 42,000 kilometers on it and runs extremely well.

    This is the best video of this mod that I've seen yet! Outstanding! Moto Dans did a good one; yours is GREAT! I have a 2003 Mean Streak that I needs this, and your video is all I'll need. Thank you, thank you!!! Well done.

    Did you have apply tension to the chain in some way so it didn't lose position while the tensioner was out?

    • @weron021
      @weron021  2 дні тому

      No, you do not have to, the chain hangs there, do it slow and you'll be fine.

    It is actually possible to remove the tensioner without popping the tank off. Just cut an allen key about 12mm so you can use it in the tight space under the snorkel.

      I just finished mine without removing the exhaust or moving the cross over tube. The front tensioner was definitely a pain but it wasn’t terrible!

    Can the cam chain tensioner be rebuilt before you put it back on the bike or is spacing a problem. I’m having a problem reconnecting the cap back on the tensioner due to the oil hose being in the way

    • @weron021
      @weron021  3 місяці тому

      It is the spacing problem, That is why we added spacer to it. Take your time with this. Hopfuly this helps out.

      Thanks for the answer. One last one. I had to turn the cam chain tensioner at an angle to get it in. I have not turned it on, would that do any damage?

    • @weron021
      @weron021  3 місяці тому +1

      What ever you do do not turn the bike on with out the tentioner installed. Just have a look at the video and follow the instructions. Also what ever angel you took it out that is the angel it will have to go in. If not there is a potential for the damage. @@GRPPLRJORDAN
