I highly recommend getting a professional cleaner to come in and clean everything when the building is done. Also running an air purifier to get rid of dust in the air.

I keep a screenshot of a random facebook comment on my phone in my “funny” folder of someone explaining how they passed gas, their dog got up and left, and their older air purifier sped up and eventually broke after a few minutes. Now every time I see something about an air purifier I think of this and it brings me joy 🥹

1000% agreed -- I also remember when we did reno, it felt like the dust stuck to the walls themselves so worth waiting a day or two before the deep clean so that all the dust sets. But a deep clean before moving back in is a must.

I as a swede grew up having that kind of clothing dryingrack in our backyard. Had no idea it was a aussie invention. Have memories of having to check the clothes hanging on it as a child/teenager & having to pick down the clothes if it started to rain before my parents come home. It was a very good invention plus your clothes always smelt fresh after hanging outside to dry. My Barbies also got to go on wild rides on it. 😳😅😂

So glad you are finally getting your desired renovations started!
If you are looking to get a good froth from your Matcha, consider using a more traditional bowl that has a wider bottom, if you don’t have one you can use a small soup bowl, you will be able to make your W shapes a bit wider and more vigorously.
Some more tea tips I learned working at Teavana for four years: try an oolong tea if you have an upset stomach or are feeling full (I love to cold steep a jasmine oolong and keep in the fridge), and if you’re having menstrual cramps, try a Sakura tea (a cherry tea).
Oh, and if you find out that you bought crap Matcha, you can make a thick paste and apply to a sunburn to help remove redness, or use as a red reducing face mask!

I hope you're pre-wetting and soaking the matcha whisk with hot water so it softens the bristles. Otherwise it can cause potential fraying. That's the advice that was given to me as well! Passing it on to you!
Also putting your matcha through a sieve so it gets rid of any clumping that may have formed. There are small drink sieves you can get for drinks like matcha and coffee so you aren't using a larger one.
Part of an authentic tea ceremony is warming up the bowl with hot water. Pouring it out, then drying it so you don't have matcha just sticking to random sides of your bowl. Don't quote me on the next part but I believe that warming up the bowl is to help with the matcha as well. If you warm up the bowl first then the water going in next won't be brought down by the temp of the bowl.
Marukyu Koyamaen is also a type of matcha I've come to appreciate very much. It's usually my go-to a lot of the time. It's so good. (It usually comes in a green tin.)

We built our house from an empty lot and took all kinds of pictures to create a photo book of the process. It was a bit stressful, but so worth it. I recommend taking lots of pictures and possibly creating a photo book to put on the coffee table for something visitors can look at when they visit.
Edit: I love matcha. In fact, I had a cup this morning instead of a coffee :). FYI there is a ceremonial grade and a culinary grade. The better quality for drinking is the ceremonial grade and the culinary grade is for cooking and adding to smoothies and stuff.

However we live in what we Americans call a trailer in a trailer park. So our renos will be much smaller, and hopefully not to expensive? Our plans are painting all the rooms (Livingroom is already painted as a gift from my parents) new kitchen counters and cabinets a new counter top (or bench top as you call it) tearing up the carpets in the 2 bedrooms. And probably new flooring.

If you ever want to get a sticker off something, you can try a heat gun to soften the glue. It is often used to get labels off of jars for reuse.

Some houses in Germany had those spinning clothing drying racks too when I was growing up! Fun fact, in German, we call it a “Wäschespinne”, which literally translates to “laundry spider”.

I love Deli vlogs! So cozy and relaxing. My gramma in the states had one of those outdoor washing lines. I haven’t thought about it in years!!

OMG the Spinhoist (?) thingy is so popular in Germany too! WE call them "Wäschespinne" which can be translated into laundry spider but also "spinnen" can mean rotating so it could also mean laundry spinner🤭

We had a clothes rack like that when I lived in New England. We called it a whirly-gig. We were excited when we moved to a home that had one. Used it exactly once. When it came time to bring the clean laundry in, it was absolutely covered in green pollen, pine needles, and bugs. Everything went back into the washer and then was dried on a line in the basement after that. I've never understood how people used those.

You're so sweet to leave out snacks for the Tradies! ❤ You had my mouth watering with that Violet Crumble protein bar....we used to have Violet Crumble in convenience stores where I live (California) but they disappeared years ago. I have to get Crunchie bars at Cost Plus World Market if I want something similar.

Oh its nice you left snacks and also bathroom stuff for the workers and good idea to come by to clean the bathroom too, I would have never thought to do that and would have probably come back 10 weeks later like oh snap LOL. Also very nice place you can stay at for the next 10 weeks, looks very comfortable 🙌💖 love your deli diaries as always, since I love lowkey vlogs

Maybe you could memorialize your previous kitchen by making a CC recolor of a counter or cabinet inspired by your cupboard paper?

There's a tea distributor near me in the US that has several different matchas, I really should branch out but they are quite pricey--almost $50 for 40 grams. They recommend 2 grams of matcha (about a teaspoon), 80 ml of water at 170-175F (around 80C). I have a kettle with different temperature settings for tea, it sounds so bougie and unnecessary but I love it so much. Best of luck with the reno!

Feeding the tradespeople always reminds me of Lorelei in Gilmore Girls when she was getting her house renovated! Though you got better treats than pop tarts. 😂
