at 31min Joell Ortiz said he watches opening acts. He aint lying. I opened for Ortiz over 10 times and he always showed me love. We even rocked a video together and gave me mad respect on my verse. Always got respect for this dude 💪
I copped all 3 Crooked and Joell projects along with a handful of their solo tapes along with some of their Slaughterhouse projects, those 2 dudes are as elite as it gets.
Great point from Ortiz about lyricism … the word play, similes, flip etc is all dope but the lines that stick with you and carry weight are also examples of lyricism . Guru of Gang Starr is a great example of this. Incredible writer, but he didn’t always go for the super witty punches & word play etc A lot of times he just came w them deep thoughts & lines that stayed with you for years. RIP GURU 🔥
Yo i have to be 1000% honest... I never write comments on any video or anywhere... But i have to say that from all the 100+ episodes that I watched on this channel... A lot of real shit was spoken on this one. A lot of good things were said and a lot of contribution was given, not just to the hip hop community, but to anyone who feels like he felt something from watching this conversation.. 4 real. Big up fellas, really.. thank you for sharing this with us
I respect these 2 legends more than most emcees. Wow I love how Math is interviewing both sides of the story. It makes us so proud to see who Math was and who he is nowadays. True warrior. Salute from Naranjito, P.R.
Notice the difference between asking Crook/ Joell verse asking Royce/ Budden questions... There is no ducking answers or speaking in gibberish with these 2. You ask a question and you get an answer.
Great point. Super disappointed in Royce. Hes too smart to pretend like he doesnt know that Joe was the reason behind all the drama. Arguing semantics on the live was embarrassing
I'm disappointed that Slaughterhouse broke up, but props to Joell Ortiz & Crooked I for putting out albums together and keeping the momentum going. Props to Math Hoffa for bringing them on My Expert Opinion and letting them tell their side of the story. Great interview as always!
At K.D. I never went nowhere I've been patiently waiting to me I didn't want the position after I took the position to be second best to the third I did my job by making sure you were straight before I stood back to watch
This was one of the best ones yet. High frequency sophisticated conversation that connected all the way through. Everyone could speak freely without having to worry about being interrupted etc. more respect for Joel and crooked hearing this side of them too
2pac’s 1st verse in Trading War Stories. PAC always made you feel like everything he put out was really personal. You couldn’t tell if he was performing or expressing his true feelings. From Dear mama to hit’em up RU still down to Against All Odds. RAW EMOTIONS.
I agree with you on that one!! Trading war stories is one of my favorite joints from Pac, along with Heaven ain't hard 2 find, Unconditional Love, To Live & Die in L.A., Life Goes On, Do 4 Love, Me Against the World, So Many Tears and I Ain't Mad at Ya. These songs have always played a huge part in my life when it comes to life experiences and the trials and tribulations that come with it. In my 25 years of life, I thank God for opening my eyes and guiding me on such an incredible journey, keeping me alive and well, keeping my family alive and well and keeping my lost loved ones safe and sound up there in heaven. When it comes to 2Pac and the songs that I chose in particular, I always close my eyes and realize how far I've come as a young man and how far I gotta go in this journey of life. It's me against the World and the way that I continue to strive and prosper is to show Unconditional love towards myself and others no matter what.

Finally thank you Math. We know y’all drop segments ahead of time which is cool but man this took a loooooong time but we grateful for this big dawg. Em gotta be next… hopefully one day ❤

It's my 2nd watch for this Episode, Im a young guy, 22, from Morocco, don't know nuthin abt nuthin, these convos really open my eyes up to this culture that we all love and appreciate. I felt it when Crook said some youngins can be bumping stuff from way back and he mentioned the treacherous 3, that resonates with me because 80/90s and early 2000s Hiphop music is my everything KRS and das EFX, Big L, Mobb Deep, Canibus, JMT, Slim and mooore.. and we love battle rap. Some of these artists that continue to shape my life have died way before I was even born. And that's Culture.. Long Live HipHop.
One of the best interviews. This is a real, honest, intelligent conversation. A room of grown blackmen expressing them selves and telling their story. Crook and ortiz alone telling their side. Mecca having the inside track and being part of the journey. Seeing the greatness of his younger brothers and seeing the power of OUR unity. And being hurt that it didn't stay together. Is real.

Another fire episode with incredible gems dropped. I sincerely hope that people really take heed to what Crook spoke about as far as when traveling as a high profile dude.
