Yeah after the first 10 points I realized that the video was going to be useless.

I have over 26 hours, just to make 1 character and a copy of it with some small changes lol, i am so glad they released this early!
You guys are gonna be swapping out pawns a lot during this game so I wouldn’t spend that much time on them lol

Still it has some really fun aspects like running into Chimera's in the dark and getting ambushed.
Some stuff with character creation that might be worth mentioning is that, if it's anything like the original, your character's proportions will actually play a part in your attack range. Example, if you give your character or your pawn long arms, the melee attack range increases. Another is the character weight directly influences your move speed (faster the lighter they are) and carry capacity (more for the heavier they are), and I believe actually changes how effectively you can knock a big monster off balance by climbing them.
Fantastic video. The only thing I cant find online is what Starting Vocations lead to which Advanced Vocations? Or can you chose from any of them when you 'specialise'? I dont want to start as a Thief, only to find out at Level 10 that I can only choose from 2 shit advanced vocations that I dont want.

Is that confirmed somewhere? I looked everywhere but there’s no definitive time that I’ve seen.
Is there any information on whether there are differences between a human and a beastren Arisen? Apart from the obvious cosmetic ones? I heard that the dialogue might be slightly different in some aspects, due to beastren being not fond of Pawns, but I wonder if there are maybe more tangible things as well, like, I don't know, carrying weight, movement speed. Stuff like that. The kind of thing that "normal" games wouldn't dare to do, due to balancing, but a game like Dragon's Dogma wouldn't shy away from. After all, even your characters weight has gameplay implications.
So yeah, I am leaning towards a human arisen and a beastren Pawn, but it is not set in stone, and knowing if there are gameplay reasons for picking one over the other would be nice beforehand.
As for class, Archer, then Magick Archer or Trickster is what I am leaning towards right now, though that also depends on whether there are still unrevealed classes.
They have confirmed that some NPC's have biases or prejudices against or towards certain races. The preview footage also showed that you'd have to approach a quest they were doing differently based on the race.

My theory for dragons plague is that eventually your the pawn that contracts it will turn into a drake, what y'all think?
This looks so good. However, did you say no map markers, or quest markers? How does that work? Just walk around blind and figure it out?

You listen and read what the NPCs, books and other ingame sources are telling you. If they tell you a boy went to the caves where wolves lurk, go into the direction they are pointing and start looking for caves. There were very few loading screens in the first Dragon's Dogma, so the world is almost seamless.
your pawns will talk your ear off with advice. if you are stuck on a quest, swap out a pawn or two till you find one with the knowledge to help :)
If it's anything like the first game. Most quests will have markers. But they won't necessarily show you how to get there. It'll just be a circle on the map. So you kno what direction ur going. Some quests won't have any. Because they want you to seek it out on ur own. It depends.
But ur not just gonna turn the game on and they just tell u to go figure it out 100% there will be some guidance from somewhere.

The only remaining concern I have is the “adaptive” difficulty, I am older and have trouble with high difficulty I dont want to buy this and get locked out of the game by a boss I cant beat.
The game will get easier for you if you keep failing. You'll be fine.
Yea this was nonsense my boy. If the game is hard, just lower the difficulty or keep trying. Ur smart man you’ll figure sum out
That exact situation is exactly what adaptive difficulty is designed to prevent. It adjusts itself as you go to make sure you don't get stuck in one spot too long. It would only automatically increase the difficulty if fights are consistently too easy for you.

I’m old as well. The adaptive lowers difficulty if you’re struggling. No worries.
They have to make the warfarer innately less powerful or something because if they wont there wont be a single reason not to play that class once you reach level 200. Its not gonna be playable before 200 at all though because stat growths will probably mess you up.
🔵Any one konws whether i can play dd2 on xbox offline or not for single player experience and just turn on the internet when hiring new pawns?
There's preset pawn in the game made by the dev so you can play the game completely offline, the only downside of playing offline is unable to hire your friends or other player's main pawn to use on your journey
All I can say for sure is that you can in the first game.
im a lil confused on the graphics like why is rtx2800 ok but you need an RX 6700 when its equivalent to nividias rtx 3070 math is not mathing.
