    Great video not something I will attempt but just got a slight rattle on my juke took it for diagnosis and they got P0014 exhaust camshaft variable valve and P0090 fuel pressure control func
    Also poss by camshaft pulley
    After watching your video I’m convinced it’s poss timing chain loose do the pulleys go very often ? and I presume it’s better approached by starting with timing chain anyway
    Do you think this is the best way forward
    Thanks

    • @SanuMotorswithCharlie
      @SanuMotorswithCharlie  2 місяці тому

      It sounds like you're on the right track. The P0014 code indicates an issue with the exhaust camshaft's timing, which could be caused by a loose or stretched timing chain. Timing chain wear is common on some Nissan engines, and it can cause symptoms like rattling, poor engine performance, and camshaft timing errors.
      In your case, addressing the timing chain first seems like a sensible approach. If the chain is loose, it can affect the camshaft's position and throw off the valve timing, leading to errors like the P0014 and possibly contributing to the fuel pressure control issue (P0090).
      Regarding the camshaft pulleys, while they can fail, it's less common than timing chain issues. Pulleys can wear out over time, but often the rattle and timing codes point to chain wear or tensioner problems.
      Starting with the timing chain replacement and inspecting the tensioners, guides, and pulleys along the way would be a good strategy. If the chain is indeed stretched or loose, replacing it can resolve the issue before exploring other components like the camshaft pulley.
      Let me know if you'd like any more guidance on tackling this!

      It sounds like you're on top of things with your Qashqai. Yes, the timing chain replacement for the 2017 J11E Qashqai can indeed take around 8 hours in a workshop-that’s pretty standard for this kind of job due to the complexity of accessing and replacing the chain. 🔧
      And yes, it can be a surprise, but you're correct-the Qashqai is equipped with a Renault-Nissan engine, which shares components and designs across both brands. This collaboration brings both benefits and unique characteristics to the engine's maintenance.

    Hello SANU ….thanks for excellent explaining…I have QASHQAI year 2019 1.3-140HP petrol engine consumes to much collant water ..and loses power ..some mechanics tells me the head gasket problem with Nissan qashqai is common and also expensive …have you experience this problems ? Thank you

    • @SanuMotorswithCharlie
      @SanuMotorswithCharlie  4 місяці тому

      Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad to help.
      Regarding your Nissan Qashqai (2019, 1.3-140HP petrol engine), the issues you're describing-excessive coolant consumption and loss of power-are indeed concerning and can often be indicative of a head gasket problem. Here's what I can share based on common knowledge and experience with similar issues:
      ### Symptoms of a Failing Head Gasket:
      1. **Coolant Loss**: If your car is consuming too much coolant, it could be due to a head gasket failure. A blown head gasket can cause coolant to leak into the engine cylinders, where it is burned off, leading to significant coolant loss without visible external leaks.
      2. **Loss of Power**: A failing head gasket can lead to a drop in engine compression, which directly results in reduced engine power. You might notice the car struggling to accelerate or generally feeling sluggish.
      3. **White Smoke from Exhaust**: When coolant enters the combustion chamber, it typically results in white smoke from the exhaust. This is a classic sign of a head gasket issue.
      4. **Overheating Engine**: If the head gasket is compromised, it can lead to engine overheating, which further exacerbates the problem.
      ### Commonality of Head Gasket Issues in Nissan Qashqai:
      While Nissan Qashqai models are generally reliable, there have been reports of head gasket failures, particularly in some petrol engines. This issue can indeed be expensive to repair due to the labor-intensive nature of the work involved.
      ### What You Can Do:
      1. **Get a Second Opinion**: If a mechanic has diagnosed a head gasket problem, it's wise to get a second opinion, preferably from a Nissan specialist or a mechanic with experience with this model.
      2. **Compression Test and Leak-Down Test**: These tests can confirm whether the head gasket is failing. They measure the engine's ability to hold pressure and can indicate if there's a leak in the gasket.
      3. **Check for Coolant Contamination**: A simple check is to look at the oil dipstick. If the oil looks milky, it could be mixed with coolant, another sign of a head gasket issue.
      In summary, it does sound like your Nissan Qashqai might be suffering from a head gasket problem. Given the symptoms and the advice from mechanics, it's likely a significant issue that requires attention. I'd recommend acting promptly to avoid further damage to the engine.

    Hi is it easy to also change the chain for the oil pump and is there any time in Marks on the oil pump chain hopefully you can help me thank you excellent video

    • @SanuMotorswithCharlie
      @SanuMotorswithCharlie  10 місяців тому

      I'm glad you found the video helpful, but I want to clarify a couple of things.
      The Nissan Qashqai typically uses a timing chain for its engine, not a timing belt. Timing chains are designed to last the life of the engine and generally do not require regular replacement like timing belts. However, they can still wear out over a very long period of time, and if there's an issue, it's usually a more involved repair.
      The oil pump is usually driven by the timing chain, so if you're experiencing issues with the oil pump, it may be necessary to replace the timing chain as well. However, this is a complex job that requires mechanical expertise and the right tools. It's not something recommended for a novice or DIY mechanic unless you have experience with engine work.
      Timing chain replacement typically doesn't involve timing marks on the chain itself, as it's designed to fit precisely with the engine's timing gears. Timing marks are usually used during the installation of the timing chain to ensure proper alignment of the crankshaft and camshaft.
      If you're experiencing issues with the oil pump or timing chain on your Nissan Qashqai, it's strongly recommended that you consult a professional mechanic or refer to the vehicle's service manual for specific instructions and guidance on how to address the problem. Incorrect installation of the timing chain can lead to severe engine damage, so it's essential to get it done correctly

    • @SanuMotorswithCharlie
      @SanuMotorswithCharlie  10 місяців тому

      The process for setting the timing marks on a Nissan Qashqai +2 2012 with a petrol engine and a Qashqai 1.2 may be similar, but there could be some differences based on the specific engine types and configurations. It's essential to refer to the service manual or repair documentation for your exact vehicle model to ensure you have the correct information for setting the timing marks.
      Different engine variants and models may have variations in their timing mark positions, so it's crucial to get precise instructions for your specific vehicle. If you're not confident in your abilities or need assistance, it's best to consult a professional mechanic or a Nissan dealership to ensure that the timing marks are set correctly for your particular vehicle. Incorrectly setting the timing marks can lead to engine damage or poor performance

    Hi, nice job, you make it look easy, I have a Nissan juke 2016 1.2dig t I think is the same engine with the one in you video, the car keeps throwing P0090 code with engine light on and start stop system light flashing without any other symptoms, I've noticed that is happening with the engine cold and just in motorway never around the city, once the code is deleted, never come back until the engine is cold and I take it to the motorway, any idea what it can be wrong? Thank you

    • @SanuMotorswithCharlie
      @SanuMotorswithCharlie  7 місяців тому

      The P0090 code typically indicates a problem with the fuel pressure regulator control circuit. Since you're experiencing this primarily when the engine is cold and on the motorway, it could be related to fuel pressure fluctuations during high-speed driving.
      Here are a few things you might want to check or consider:
      Fuel Pressure Sensor: The fuel pressure sensor might be malfunctioning or giving inaccurate readings, especially when the engine is cold and under high load on the motorway.
      Fuel Pump: The fuel pump could be failing or not delivering consistent pressure, particularly when the engine is cold and requires more fuel at high speeds.
      Fuel Filter: A clogged fuel filter could restrict fuel flow, causing pressure issues, especially during high-speed driving.
      Wiring and Connections: Check the wiring and connections related to the fuel pressure regulator and sensor for any signs of damage or corrosion. Sometimes, a loose connection or damaged wire can cause intermittent issues.
      Software Update: There might be a software update available for your car's engine control module (ECM) that addresses this issue. It's worth checking with a Nissan dealership or a qualified mechanic to see if there are any updates available.
      Since the issue seems to occur primarily under specific conditions, like when the engine is cold and on the motorway, it might be a bit tricky to diagnose. If you're not comfortable doing the troubleshooting yourself, it's best to take your car to a qualified mechanic or Nissan dealership for a thorough diagnosis and repair. They'll have the tools and expertise to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem and get it fixed properly.

    I have Nissan Serena C27 with MR20DD engine at 104000 km, no ratling or any issue but recently bought all original parts for timing. Should I wait more or just go forward with the change?

    • @SanuMotorswithCharlie
      @SanuMotorswithCharlie  11 місяців тому

      It's important to consider several factors before deciding whether to proceed with the timing parts replacement for your Nissan Serena C27 with the MR20DD engine at 104,000 km, even if there are no noticeable issues or rattling. Here are some things to consider:
      Manufacturer's Recommendations: Check the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule for your vehicle. It should outline when the timing components, such as the timing belt or timing chain, should be replaced. If you're approaching or have exceeded that mileage or time interval, it's a good idea to proceed with the replacement.
      Preventive Maintenance: Replacing timing components as part of preventive maintenance can help avoid potential catastrophic engine damage if they were to fail unexpectedly. Waiting too long might lead to more extensive and expensive repairs.
      Age of the Parts: Timing components, even if they haven't shown any issues, can wear out over time due to heat and stress. The age of the parts may also factor into your decision. If they are original and your vehicle is several years old, it might be a good idea to replace them for peace of mind.
      Cost of Repair: Consider the cost of replacing the timing components now versus the potential cost of a major engine repair if they were to fail. In some cases, replacing the parts preventively can be more cost-effective in the long run.
      Local Climate and Driving Conditions: If you live in an area with extreme temperature fluctuations or harsh driving conditions, it might accelerate the wear on timing components. In such cases, replacing them sooner might be advisable.
      Professional Inspection: It's always a good idea to have a qualified mechanic inspect your timing components during regular maintenance. They can assess the condition of the parts and provide recommendations based on their expertise.
      Ultimately, it's generally safer to follow the manufacturer's recommendations and replace timing components at the recommended intervals or mileage, especially if you plan to keep the vehicle for an extended period. It's a preventive measure that can help ensure the longevity and reliability of your Nissan Serena C27's engine.

    Hi, How would you time this 1.2 TCE engine if the timing has jumped slightly? is their an old school way to make sure timing is right before closing everthing together? Thanks

    • @SanuMotorswithCharlie
      @SanuMotorswithCharlie  11 місяців тому

      Certainly! If you suspect that the timing has jumped slightly on a 1.2 TCE engine and you want to ensure it's set correctly, there are several steps you can take. While modern engines often have specific diagnostic tools and procedures, here's a more general approach that can be considered, especially if you're looking for an "old school" method:
      Timing Marks: First, locate the timing marks on your engine components. Typically, there will be marks on the crankshaft pulley, camshaft sprocket, and possibly other components depending on your engine's design.
      Top Dead Center (TDC): Ensure the engine is at top dead center (TDC) for the piston on the compression stroke for the cylinder you're working on. You can do this by removing the spark plug for that cylinder and using a tool (like a piston stop) to find the highest point the piston reaches. Align the crankshaft pulley's timing mark with the TDC mark on the timing cover or scale.
      Camshaft Alignment: If your engine has a timing belt or chain connecting the crankshaft and camshaft(s), align the camshaft sprocket's timing mark with the corresponding mark on the cylinder head.
      Check Valve Clearances: It's also a good idea to check valve clearances while you're at it. Adjust them if necessary according to the manufacturer's specifications.
      Inspect Timing Components: Inspect the timing belt or chain and related components for wear, damage, or slack. If the timing belt has jumped, it may be due to a worn or damaged belt or tensioner.
      Double Check Marks: After aligning the marks, rotate the engine manually through a couple of complete cycles (two revolutions of the crankshaft) to make sure everything still lines up correctly. This will help confirm that the timing is set correctly.
      Reassembly: Once you're confident that the timing is correct, you can proceed to reassemble everything carefully. Torque bolts to the manufacturer's specifications, especially for critical components like the crankshaft and camshaft pulleys.
      Start and Test: After reassembly, start the engine and listen for any unusual noises. Additionally, you can use a timing light to verify that the ignition timing is correct.
      Remember that the exact procedure may vary depending on your specific engine and vehicle model. It's crucial to consult your vehicle's service manual for detailed instructions and specifications tailored to your engine. If you're not comfortable performing these tasks yourself, it's best to seek the assistance of a qualified mechanic or technician to ensure proper timing and avoid potential engine damage

    Hi Charlie. My Turbo just failed on the same car. ( 2019 Qashqai 1.,2 petrol ) The turbo shaft is bent and it's coked up with carbon. I'm worried that the same thing will happen again after I replace it. What should I do or look out for? Is it easy and worth removing the sump and rocker and flushing?

    • @SanuMotorswithCharlie
      @SanuMotorswithCharlie  10 місяців тому +1

      Experiencing a failed turbo on your car can indeed be concerning, especially if you're worried about it happening again after replacement. Here are some steps and considerations you can take to address the issue:
      Diagnose the Root Cause: It's important to determine why the turbo failed in the first place. A bent shaft and carbon buildup can indicate various issues such as oil starvation, poor lubrication, or excessive heat. Without addressing the underlying cause, the new turbo might face similar issues.
      Inspect Oil Circulation: Check the oil circulation system thoroughly. Ensure that oil is flowing properly to the turbocharger and that there are no blockages or restrictions in the oil lines. Additionally, make sure the oil is clean and of the correct grade specified by the manufacturer.
      Address Engine Issues: Excessive carbon buildup could indicate issues with the engine, such as incomplete combustion or oil leakage into the combustion chamber. Address any engine issues that could contribute to carbon buildup to prevent future turbocharger problems.
      Consider Flushing: Flushing the engine can help remove any accumulated carbon deposits and contaminants from the oil system. However, it's essential to use a proper flushing agent recommended by the manufacturer and follow the procedure outlined in the service manual. Removing the sump and rocker cover for a thorough cleaning might be beneficial if there's significant buildup.
      Regular Maintenance: Following the recommended maintenance schedule for your vehicle is crucial for ensuring the longevity of the turbocharger and other engine components. This includes regular oil changes, air filter replacements, and inspections for any signs of wear or damage.
      Monitor Performance: After replacing the turbocharger, monitor the performance of your vehicle closely. Keep an eye on oil consumption, exhaust smoke, and any abnormal noises or vibrations that could indicate potential issues with the new turbocharger.
      Consult a Professional: If you're unsure about any aspect of the repair process or if you're unable to diagnose the root cause of the problem, it's best to consult a professional mechanic or technician with experience working on turbocharged engines.
      By taking these steps and precautions, you can increase the likelihood of preventing future turbocharger failures and ensure the reliable performance of your vehicle.

    Hi mate love your videos,
    I have an issue with my 1.2l 2014 qashqai cranking but not firing, i had RAC out and they did a diagnostic check and found a fault on the camshaft position sensor. Replaced 2 sensors and no change, he told me the timing chain has most likely worn/stretched causing the timing to be out. How likely is this to be the problem?
    Thanks.

    • @SanuMotorswithCharlie
      @SanuMotorswithCharlie  7 місяців тому +1

      Hey there! Thanks for the support and reaching out. It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating issue with your Qashqai.
      If the diagnostic check identified a fault with the camshaft position sensor and replacing two sensors didn't resolve the issue, the next logical step would indeed be to investigate the timing chain. While it's not the most common issue, timing chain wear or stretching can certainly cause problems with engine timing, leading to difficulty starting or running rough.
      Given the symptoms you described - cranking but not firing - along with the diagnostic findings, it's worth considering the possibility of timing chain issues. However, it's essential to rule out any other potential causes before jumping to conclusions.
      I'd recommend getting a second opinion from a trusted mechanic or a Nissan dealership. They can perform a more thorough diagnosis, including checking the timing chain and related components, to confirm whether it's the root cause of the problem.
      Timing chain replacement can be a significant repair, but addressing it promptly can prevent further damage to your engine. Keep me updated on how things go, and if you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask. Best of luck getting your Qashqai back up and running smoothly! 🚗💨

    • @SanuMotorswithCharlie
      @SanuMotorswithCharlie  6 місяців тому

      Thank you for your comment! I'm glad you found the video informative.
      If you have 0 compression on all 4 cylinders, it likely indicates a severe issue. The timing chain may have failed completely, causing the engine's valves and pistons to be out of sync, which can result in significant internal damage. Here are the key considerations:
      1. **Timing Chain Failure**: If the timing chain has failed, the valves may have struck the pistons, causing damage to both. This scenario usually results in zero compression across all cylinders.
      2. **Further Inspection**: Before proceeding with replacing the timing chain, it's essential to inspect the engine for additional damage. This might include bent valves, damaged pistons, or cylinder head issues.
      3. **Engine Damage**: If there is extensive damage, a simple timing chain replacement might not suffice. You may need to repair or replace the damaged components or, in severe cases, consider a complete engine rebuild or replacement.
      4. **Diagnosis**: Conduct a thorough diagnosis, including a leak-down test, to identify the extent of the damage. This will help determine the necessary repairs.
      If you're unsure about the extent of the damage or the necessary repairs, it might be best to consult with a professional mechanic to avoid further complications.
      For more detailed guidance, check out resources like automotive forums, repair manuals, or consult a professional mechanic to ensure you address all potential issues.

    I have an issue about timig chain on my 1.2 Dig-T 2015 Qashqai. The timing chain was working loudly, chain sound were coming from the motor. My mechanic said timing chain should be changed. And I have replaced the timig chain and also alternator belt. After that the sound were gone. But motor light came out. The fault code is P0090.
    I have checked the wirings from hight pressure regulator to ECM. There was no problem on wirings.
    Replaced the fuel high pressure regulator but never got rid of it.
    I clean the fault code but after 2-3 min later it comes up again. What should I do is it a software problem? Bu it came up after changing timing chain why it wouldnt came before? Now I am stuck. Can you help me?

    • @SanuMotorswithCharlie
      @SanuMotorswithCharlie  3 місяці тому

      The issue you're facing with the P0090 fault code after replacing the timing chain and alternator belt on your 1.2 Dig-T 2015 Qashqai is a challenging one, but I can offer some steps to help troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.
      ### Understanding the P0090 Fault Code
      The P0090 code indicates an issue with the "Fuel Pressure Regulator Control Circuit." This could involve the fuel pressure regulator itself, the wiring, or the ECU's ability to control the fuel pressure regulator. The fact that this issue arose after a timing chain replacement suggests that something may have been disturbed or improperly reassembled during that repair.
      ### Possible Causes and Steps to Troubleshoot
      1. **Check the Connections Again:**
      - Double-check all electrical connections and sensors that might have been disturbed during the timing chain replacement. This includes connectors related to the fuel pressure regulator and the ECU.
      - Ensure that all connectors are fully seated and that no pins are bent or corroded.
      2. **Inspect the Timing:**
      - Although the P0090 code specifically points to the fuel pressure regulator, improper timing can cause a variety of issues, including those affecting fuel pressure and engine performance.
      - Verify that the timing chain was installed correctly and that the timing marks were properly aligned. Even a slight misalignment could cause various engine issues.
      3. **Check the High-Pressure Fuel Pump:**
      - The high-pressure fuel pump might have been affected during the timing chain replacement. If it's not delivering the correct pressure, it could cause the ECU to flag a P0090 code.
      - Ensure that the pump is functioning properly and that there are no blockages or issues in the fuel lines.
      4. **Software or ECU Issue:**
      - Since the issue appeared right after the mechanical work, it's possible that a software issue could be involved, especially if the ECU has not been reset or adapted properly after the timing chain replacement.
      - Consider having the ECU checked or reflashed by a professional. This can sometimes resolve issues that appear after significant engine work.
      5. **Vacuum System Check:**
      - Some systems use vacuum control for fuel pressure regulation. If any vacuum hoses were disconnected or damaged during the repair, it could cause issues.
      - Check for any vacuum leaks or disconnected hoses.
      6. **Consult a Nissan Specialist:**
      - If all else fails, it might be worth consulting a Nissan specialist or a dealer who can perform more in-depth diagnostics. They may have seen similar issues before and can provide a more targeted solution.
      Given that the issue began after the timing chain replacement, the most likely causes are related to something that was disturbed during the repair-such as wiring, connectors, or even timing. If you've already checked the wiring and replaced the fuel pressure regulator, focusing on timing alignment and potential ECU/software issues would be the next logical steps.
      If the problem persists, seeking help from a Nissan dealer or specialist with the right diagnostic tools may be necessary to resolve the issue.

    The 19socket that holds the crank pulley, do you lock the crank from moving before unscrewing it, im using a T Piece to unscrew wont the crank /pistons move as if reversing?

    • @SanuMotorswithCharlie
      @SanuMotorswithCharlie  9 місяців тому +2

      Yes, when removing the crank pulley bolt, it's crucial to prevent the crankshaft from rotating. If you attempt to unscrew the bolt without securing the crankshaft, there's a high probability that the crankshaft will turn, which could cause damage to the engine components, particularly if it rotates in the wrong direction.
      To prevent the crankshaft from rotating while you loosen the crank pulley bolt, you typically have a few options:
      Using a Flywheel Lock: Many engines have a designated tool, often called a flywheel lock, which immobilizes the flywheel or flex plate teeth to prevent the crankshaft from rotating. You would typically use this tool in conjunction with the appropriate socket and breaker bar or impact wrench to loosen the crank pulley bolt.
      Using a Piston Stop Tool: Another method involves inserting a piston stop tool into one of the spark plug holes to prevent piston movement. By positioning the piston at the top dead center (TDC) of its compression stroke and inserting the piston stop tool, you effectively prevent the crankshaft from rotating.
      Using a Large Wrench on the Crankshaft Pulley Bolt: In some cases, you may be able to wedge a large wrench or a pry bar against the flywheel or flex plate teeth to prevent rotation. This method requires caution to avoid damaging the teeth or causing other harm.
      Regardless of the method you choose, always ensure that the crankshaft is securely held in place before attempting to loosen the crank pulley bolt. This precaution will help prevent damage to engine components and ensure a successful repair or maintenance task.

    Now just seeking advice to see if you can help.
    I have nissan qashqai 2014 1.2dgit petrol. Found some noisw coming from front of car get checked with 2 different independet mechanics which both suggested its timing chain. Car done around 100k so most probably its the chain.
    Now the main question as i am getting confused with 2 independent mechanics said different thing.
    One said just need timing chain kit replacement with new engine oil and filter will solve the problem.
    Other said it needs oil pump with chain and water pump need replaced aswell alongside with gasket, camshaft seal and cover as we getting that far in engine.
    Just been curious and asked 3rd guy and he said water pump not driven by chain so not replacing and as having no engine lights or oil lights/issue on car so oil pump doesnt need changing.
    Now need your proffessional advise what would you suggest.
    Thanks in advance and sorry for lenghty question.

    • @SanuMotorswithCharlie
      @SanuMotorswithCharlie  7 місяців тому +1

      No worries about the length of the question, it's important to get all the details out there when discussing car issues.
      In this situation, it's understandable to feel confused when receiving different opinions from mechanics. Let's break down the suggestions:
      Timing chain kit replacement with new engine oil and filter: This is a common approach when dealing with timing chain issues. Replacing the timing chain along with the associated components (such as guides and tensioners) can often resolve the noise issue.
      Replacing oil pump, water pump, gasket, camshaft seal, and cover: This is a more comprehensive approach. While it may address potential additional issues within the engine, it could also be seen as more of a preemptive measure. Replacing these components could ensure better longevity and prevent future issues, but it might not be strictly necessary if they're not currently causing problems.
      Not replacing the water pump: The water pump in some engines is not driven by the timing chain, so if it's not causing any issues and is not due for replacement based on manufacturer recommendations, it may not need to be replaced.
      Given these suggestions, here's what I would recommend:
      Start with the timing chain replacement along with new engine oil and filter. This is typically the first step in addressing timing chain issues and may resolve the problem.
      If the noise persists after the timing chain replacement, you could consider the more comprehensive approach suggested by the second mechanic. However, it's essential to carefully evaluate whether the additional components really need replacement based on their condition and manufacturer recommendations.
      As for the water pump, if it's not causing any issues and is not due for replacement, it may not be necessary to replace it at this time.
      Ultimately, the decision depends on factors such as the severity of the noise, the condition of the components, and your budget. If you're still unsure, you could consider getting a second opinion from a trusted mechanic or consulting with a dealership service department for their recommendations.

      The timing chain replacement interval for the Nissan Qashqai 1.2L can vary depending on factors such as driving conditions, maintenance history, and manufacturer recommendations. Typically, timing chains are designed to last longer than timing belts and may not need replacement as frequently.
      However, it's essential to follow the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule outlined in the owner's manual. If there is no specific mileage mentioned for timing chain replacement, it's advisable to have it inspected periodically by a qualified mechanic, especially if you notice any unusual noises, vibrations, or performance issues.
      Since your Qashqai has only 26k miles and there are no apparent issues with the timing chain, it's likely still in good condition. You may not need to replace it just yet. However, it's always a good idea to stay proactive with maintenance and have it checked during routine servicing to ensure its longevity and prevent potential problems in the future.

      The timing chain replacement interval for a Nissan Qashqai with a 1.2 L engine can vary depending on several factors including driving conditions, maintenance history, and the specific model year. However, generally speaking, timing chains are designed to last the lifetime of the engine in modern vehicles.
      Nissan doesn't typically specify a replacement interval for the timing chain in their vehicles as they are designed to be maintenance-free for the life of the engine. However, it's always a good idea to follow the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule outlined in your vehicle's owner's manual. This will ensure that your Qashqai receives the necessary maintenance at the appropriate intervals to keep it running smoothly and reliably. If you have concerns about your timing chain, it's best to consult with a certified technician/ mechanic for a professional assessment.

    • @SanuMotorswithCharlie
      @SanuMotorswithCharlie  9 місяців тому

      When considering purchasing a used car, especially one with higher mileage like the Nissan Qashqai you're looking at, it's essential to take several factors into account:
      Service History: Verify the service history of the vehicle. If the timing chain hasn't been replaced and the car has reached 54k miles, it may be a concern. Timing chain replacement intervals can vary, but it's crucial to ensure it's in good condition to prevent potential issues down the line.
      Mechanical Inspection: Have a trusted mechanic perform a thorough inspection of the car, paying close attention to the engine, transmission, suspension, and other critical components. They can assess the overall condition of the vehicle and identify any potential issues.
      Cost of Repairs: Consider the cost of potential repairs, including replacing the timing chain if necessary. Factor these costs into your budget and determine if it aligns with your financial expectations.
      Vehicle Reputation: Research the Nissan Qashqai's reliability and common issues reported by owners. This information can give you insight into what to expect and help you make an informed decision.
      Price and Negotiation: Negotiate the price based on the condition of the vehicle, including any necessary repairs or maintenance. Don't hesitate to walk away if the seller isn't willing to negotiate or if you're uncomfortable with the deal.
      Ultimately, whether or not to purchase the Nissan Qashqai depends on your assessment of the car's condition, your budget, and your willingness to take on any potential repairs or maintenance. If you're unsure, it may be worth considering other options or waiting for a vehicle with a more favorable history and condition.

    Why didn't you change the seal on the cover?

      Need to ask customer why he didn’t say yes for that job (maybe budget problem)

    and the cranck seal?

      Great question! When replacing the timing chain on a Nissan Qashqai 1.2, it’s a good idea to inspect the crankshaft seal. If there are any signs of wear, leaks, or damage, it’s best to replace it while you’re in there. It’s a relatively inexpensive part and saves you from future headaches. 🔧

    В этом двигателе масло ни разу не менялось с момента покупки. Деформированный фильтр тому свидетельство. У меня Кашкай 2008 (двигатель mr20de) пробег 205.000 внутри нет ни сажи, ни нагара, от слова совсем.

      Звучит, как вы заботитесь о своем автомобиле! Хорошо, что вы обратили внимание на деформированный фильтр масла. Не замена масла в течение длительного времени может привести к серьезным проблемам с двигателем, поэтому я рекомендую вам как можно скорее поменять масло и фильтр. Помните, что регулярная замена масла - ключевая часть технического обслуживания автомобиля, которая помогает уберечь двигатель от износа и предотвращает возникновение серьезных проблем.

      c code related ABS system, how ever this is a common cause for diesel cars, block presser line.
      to be honest I'm not sure, better to take it to the garage and ask them to check, also make sure all plugs and connectors clip properly
      sorry
