Why We Don't Teach Readings (yet!)
As mentioned in the introduction video to this series ( ua-cam.com/video/RKWrWRFyfYo/v-deo.html ), it is my philosophy that it is a WASTE OF TIME to learn the readings for each kanji in isolation. I explain WHY in that video.
To learn how to read kanji, I think it is best to learn WORDS that contain that kanji in the context of SENTENCES. We WILL be doing that in this series, after learning the meanings and writings for the 118 kanji in the JLPT N5 and Kanken 10 tests.
So fear not! You WILL be learning how to read them in the near future. 😊
Comment for engagement. Thank your explanation
I really like the history of the kanji. I already know the kanji of this series, so far, nevertheless I really enjoy the explanations, the flow of the video, the history, the jokes :D and the calligraphy. It is a great series. I am writing along, learning again the stroke order so I can write all the kanji. Thank you for this series.
i finally understood the difference of town and village thank you!
I do like the history of the kanji. It is very interesting. I also love your discription of the parts. 😁
I don't like the history, but it is fine if you keep it in
I like the history! Keep the history!
the history is helping me understand and remember!
I really like the history, always fun to see how it looked in the past
"in a village there are a small amount of trees (and houses too, I guess)"
This one needs added to your N5 playlist
Thank you! Added it now!
Great seeing how the Kanji series has been going thus far. Keep it up!
Also, not sure what video ideas you have in the works but I think it would be great to see you revisit "Yomichan" since it is no longer serviceable in 2024 and is replaced by "Yomitan"
I like the history
You look really good with that amount of beard!
I live history, more than stories
Andy 様 , Can you please add an audio track ( New feature of UA-cam, now can listen in any language) to this video. So I can understand better in my Language like in MrBeast's video. LANGUAGE:- Hindi . できるだけ早くこの機能を追加してください。
Hi there. I don’t believe I have access to this feature yet. Probably only very large creators at the moment, and I believe they are adding their own translated audio tracks, which they pay for. It’s not automatic.
I’ll take a look though.
Yeah, I took a look and Mr. Beast pays translators and voice actors to record in MANY languages, and then he has access to the new Audio Track features. I don't have access to the feature, and can also not afford to pay translators and voice actors just yet. Sorry!
Okay . Thanks for reply 😊
Im currently going through the kanji course and am onto the sentences, should i just be trying to memorise the highlighted word or the whole sentance
Just the highlighted word is fine for now! =)
Hey I’m thinking of becoming a member of tokini andy / maybe the premium tokini andy saints. I know how to write and recognize hiragana and katakana from a separate app, and i've done this series-Japanese Kanji meanings and writings up to vid #20. I haven’t completed this video, number 21 yet though. Do you recommend becoming a member of his site to learn vocab? Because honestly that’s honestly what i need to do and am excited to learn next because i now know all of these kanji but don’t have any vocab🥲
Also this series was genuinely really helpful so i might become a member just to show my support anyways but idk, I’d still appreciate your feedback!
@@youngtidepod3507 I got the membership for a single month for the kanji Anki deck and from what I recall the site is mostly reading, listening & grammar content. While you could propably use it to learn vocab I wouldn't recommend it. Instead using Anki would be the most efficient.
