I love how the Swifties are genuinely so invested in taking you step by step through all required viewing to ensure you end up falling just as in love with her as we are, hahaha…I adore that you’re so here for it! You’re by far my favorite person on UA-cam right now.
As a swifte, I can confirm we want everyone to fall in love with her, and it brings us so much joy creating environment where we feel like that will happen just so naturally
Taylors attention to detail is just immaculate. All Too Well is on her album Red and in the kitchen scene when they're fighting she made the stove knobs red... to literally signify gaslighting. She is just incredible.
22:45 "I really really hope that she does another short film in the near future." In case you don't know, she's actually directing a movie. I don't know when it will be out, but apparently the script is already done!
You mentioned in your last ATW video that these had to be real things that happened to her and I agree 100%. I feel like those looks of happiness or awe when she’s watching the scenes play back are her feeling like she’s watching back her memory and finally being able to let her audience in on what really happened and what it really felt like to be her during that time. Like when she looked like she was about to cry was probably something incredibly visceral to her.
It’s been so refreshing seeing a professional look at her work for the first time, almost in amazement that she is the one involved, the creative force behind her work, her art. Once people realize this, and how personal this all is to her then it makes more sense why it means so much to her to own her own work, to re-record her albums to own her art. She is the creative one. Those who don’t know, don’t know., I’m glad you are getting to know her work. If we are working backwards, Willow and cardigan are next. Although the videos somewhat go together, somewhat, cardigan must come first because Willow picks up where cardigan leaves off. So cardigan, a visually pleasing mv. Must come before Willow. Although I bet you think about me does come next, Blake lively directed it but Taylor wrote the storyboard & I imagine was very heavily involved with how it was shot. Miles Teller & his wife Kayleigh star in it alongside Taylor. I believe it was nominated fur and May have won some awards.
Loved your reaction! The scene where Sadie is crying on the bed - it was told in Taylor's Directors on Directors interview that not only did Sadie do a lot of work on her own on set to get to that space but that her and Taylor went into the room and worked themselves up and screamed into pillows and cried to achieve that scene. Highly recommend that interview!
Yay so glad you got a chance to see this, you know so many people hear the name Taylor Swift and roll there eyes as if to say " oh the girl who always writes about boys"...it's such a pleasure to watch someone come to see just what an amazing lyricist and director she is!
Remember that this was shot during COVID lockdowns which is what restricted numbers of both on screen & off screen staff which was actually very beneficial for the tone of this video
I’ve mentioned it before, about Taylor having such a clear vision that she has no second guesses about what she wants. I bet the this was filmed in sequence because that’s how it looked in her mind. Another great reaction!
This just proves how multifaceted Taylor Swift is. Can we just mention how beautiful she looks with that red hair?? Stunning. As always. I’ve never seen a bad photograph of her, tbh. This BTS was a masterpiece in itself. I’m very happy that she got the recognition she deserved for making it. 👏🏻🎊💯🤗🎉
You've become already one of my favorite reaction youtubers! I don't know sh*t about video edition but I don't skip any part of your explanations about these technical stuff, btw every time I get impressed by the quality of your videos. I'm so happy to see that you've hit 1k subscribers, and here's to so many more, you truly deserve it!!
i agree, you're so knowledgeable about the details & specifics about videography, song writing, technicalities, & Taylor Swift in particular! You do a fabulous job of discussing her motives for making music videos & writing music. Plus you know the players, the artists, the roles, & what goes into it all. and you're clearly a fellow swiftie. ❤ You're brilliant and do a great job of explaining the brilliance of taylor that goes into creating & producing music videos. you MUST have some formal education or training in videography or whatever name is??? thank you for adding to the story and what goes in to the music videos most of us take for granted as we watch. just adds to the incomparable talent of Taylor! Just her musical & performing abilities were beyond belief but now this!!! she will never stop amazing me & ty to the video editor for explaining it all! great job! 😊
My dad owns a battery business for mount and block batteries and I spent this whole rewatch focused on the different equipment on set. You really got me keyed in on it, looking for a whole new kind of easter egg 😂
Taylor's last quote made me think of you picking up on the video where she's shutting off the warm light, left the cold light on before heading to the reading.
In all the 17 years she has been in the business, it one person has ever said she is a jerk to work other. On the contrary, people have been with her for years because she treats them so well. But even one-off people have said she is super nice. I heard from a girl whose uncle works at an airport & has no idea who she is, well she spoke with him for 20 minutes while everyone was getting there stuff together. Never said here name, just that she was there for an event. It’s just who she is.
i know....& that just doesn't happen. the flip side of that is that she doesn't bash other ppl either-even the ones who deserve it! ie kanye. she may write songs about exes or make sarcastic references but it's still never done in hateful spiteful or mean spirited way. she's genuinely kind & doesn't stoop to others levels even when she has every right to! one of the myriad of qualities that make her who she is and increase her likability factor & popularity among such a broad fan base. just look out at the sheer volume of ppl in the audience next time you're watching her perform on tour. it's so massive i can't imagine how many ppl are there. does anyone know???
Supposedly there is an album called karma. Which was to follow reputation at the peak of her expressing her anger. The label and managers ( parents ) convinced her to shelf it. And it’s in the vault. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️. She’s brilliant. I’m 55 and I’m obsessed like a 16 year old girl. 😂😂😂😂

I really love your reactions. They're so funny and professional at the same time. Also the quality of your videos are amazing. Hope you get more subscribers💙
Fascinating to see a pro’s take on this. FWIW, if you haven’t seen her interview from the 2022 Toronto Film Festival about the ATW short film it’s worth checking out. She talks everything from writers/directors who inspire her and working with Rita Yang to film stock and how set dressing can help reveal character traits. Very cool convo.
I am a newer Swiftie, from about the last five years. Also a casual fan from the beginning of the 1989 era. This might be making a lot of assumptions, but I feel like she is me. I mean that in the sense of she has a craft and Taylor further masters her craft while also starting to become interested in adjacent crafts. Once Taylor feels proficient in her main craft she moves more attention to the adjacent crafts and slowly becomes obsessed. And Over decades, it just makes you a person very well rounded in an industry. She is a lyricist, she probably has a big hand in music production, a composer, a singer, an entertainer, an actress, a dancer, a poet, a marketing director, a short story novelist, a set Director, an activist, someone who crafts, a chef… She just is into so many of the arts
I'm so glad you did this! If I think about Taylor too much and all she is capable of it is unnerving. She is a true artistic genius, and yet so down to earth and grateful for the love and attention she gets. Honestly, to me, she is on par with the greatest artists the world has known.
I loved watching behind the scenes just as much as watching the short film. Then hearing your expertise on the short film and behind the scenes made it even more enjoyable.
me too!!! just when i thought it couldn't get any better (her music) THIS came along & it's blowing her already ridiculous talent out of the water by showing yet another skill Taylor has. She's beyond amazing. ❤
I love that you're excited just as we are watching it every time😁 (fr, I've seen the bts like 7 times now) I am excited to see more Taylor reactions, I think cardigan and willow music videos would be a good follow up, just whenever you watch those, don't switch cardigan and willow, willow is connected to cardigan in a way, if you watched willow first it would lose some of the magic.
great reaction ...like how you seemed to really enjoy the behind the scenes of this video maybe even more than the actual short film...but I know you enjoyed that too, as I watched your reaction to it..... glad she won the grammy for that film too.
In her Directors on Directors interview Taylor mentions the she shot lists every single shot in a video she writes & directs. So it would make sense for her to have intimate knowledge of the footage available and have planned ahead for editing.
Ive been an extra in so many music videos before I was union then I did commercials,in the video her bf who is nameless doesnt show to her bday party and he does still have her scarf, they only went out for a few months but he still dates women the same age as she was
i've been loving your taylor videos and all your commentary it's been so interesting and i love how you always come into so excited! you should watch her directors on directors episode. i know you focus more on editing here and the video is quite long. so maybe it be something to watch on your own time but i think you would find it really interesting. she goes into more depth on some her directing choices for the atw short film and more and it's so cool seeing her thought process.
i know it's not what you want to react to on your channel but any interview of taylor about the shortfilm would have her explaining her idea with the lighting and the color in it and maybe that'd be nice for you to hear
I love your videos! I find myself talking to you as you ask questions! 😂 Can you please do “I Bet You Think About Me” by Taylor? It’s so good! And funny. One of my favorites! Thank you!!
It'd be interesting if you watched some of Taylor's videos that were directed by Joseph Kahn. She's said that she learned a lot from him, it'd be fun to see if you can spot the influences
Yep, I was looking for a comment like this! She worked with Kahn for quite a few MVs, and I saw a short interview with her where she said she treated them like filmmaker boot camp, learning as much as she could from him. She had really nice things to say about Kahn, too, and him not minding her being all up in his face trying to learn as much as she could.
Hey, I'm a little late to the party (this is the 4th/5th vid of yours I've watched). I'm not sure if you know or have seen but Taylor was part of this year's Vanity Fair director on director interviews. It was her and the director of The Banshees of Inisheeran thar interviewed each other
Hi. You probably won't read this on a 5 months old video, but what I am curios about, and would very much be interested to have answered by an professional is: That thing is shot on 35mm. But on her monitor she sees live, what the camera is recording. So how is this done? Is there a second digital camera mounted beside the analog one? Or are there today cameras that do both analog an digital at once? And how similar would her picture on the monitor then be to the scene captured on film? If you DO read this and could give a short answer, I would very much appreciate it! Thanks for all the interesting background analysis anyway!
Taylor gave an excellent lengthy sit down interview at the Toronto Film Festival about All Too Well after it was screened there. She went into detail about why she decided with Rina Yang to shoot it on 35ml film and colour schemes etc. I think you will enjoy checking it out. She did another excellent interview on the series Directors on Directors with Martin McDonagh and finally, I think you might really enjoy watching the series Making Of A Song with Taylor and her documentary Miss Americana.
TSwift has actually said that if Sadie had said no, she might not have made the film. I’m sure you’ve seen it, but if by any chance you haven’t, the Directors on Directors episode that pairs TSwift with Martin McDonagh is brilliant.
If you think it's a cool detail that this was shot at Blake Lively and Ryan Reynold's house, you should check out her video for I Bet You Think About Me. Blake is the director 😊
Question…would a video usually be this precisely worked out with the exact shot to each piece of music, or is the final make up of some videos determined more in editing? I feel like she came into this knowing exactly what she wanted for each shot.
There's a combo here, but really she knew what she wanted going into this. Which, made the editing fairly easy because she envisioned it so well. I am sure there were some changes in post production, but nothing major (especially shot on film). She's a mastermind!
Are you aware you can change your thumbnail w/o losing your view count nor comments? Put Taylor on the thumbnail along w/a smaller front shot of the male actor w/the scarf around his neck when he’s looking through the window; and you’ll get better views.
i have a question to start off with: Do you consider yourself a swiftie/ fan already or do we need to recommend you watch more of her work? (which we will probably do either way) it is crystal clear how deeply personal her work is for her, she pours so much of herself into everything and seems fearless (excuse the pun) in sharing her experiences with the whole world, be it her lyrics or the visuals that go with them... the way she keeps on clutching her chest upon seeing sadie act some of the scenes is really spelling out how emotional and personal it is which actually makes me think that she just took her memories and recreated them exactly on film only adding in the use of light and craft of recording/editing all of that together i agree, even the bts is telling a story it is as if taylor can not ever stop making use of her talent and craft, the voice over at the end is so deeply offensive in the best possible way i as others already did (actually might have done that under the initial reaction myself as well) would highly recommend the directors on directors episode with her it definetly is quite long but she talks about her vision there and approach to making the film in depth as well as the tiff talk (that i am quite sure i recommended before ahaha) on your own (if you havent had enough of the masterpiece that the atw short film is (which is impossible imo))
I love the recommendations especially with how in-depth her videos are and in which order I should be viewing them.. But I am a fan of her! I didn't know this much about her at first, so I am deep diving into the Swiftie territory! Thank you for all this info!!! I agree with everything! Thank you for watching!
@@Videoeditorreacts yes we converted another person into a swiftie (always great to welcome new people) no but honestly i love watching a swiftie in the making apprciating the genius that Taylor is... i agree with the demands for cardigan and willow and i bet you think about me for the next videos apparently you are about to move backwards in her discography which i think is something we can but don't have to stick to... anyways would love to see the bts included for every video (that has bts footage online) i think i said it before but if you ever need context for lyrics the genius annotations are quite good and thouroughly most of the time or you could just ask the swifties in a community post or something, we are keen to explain things always...
I love how the Swifties are genuinely so invested in taking you step by step through all required viewing to ensure you end up falling just as in love with her as we are, hahaha…I adore that you’re so here for it! You’re by far my favorite person on UA-cam right now.

so i guess jake dropped her hand. asshole.
Aren’t we Swifties just all here to proudly watch non-swifties discovering what an exceptional multi-talented human being the mother is 😂🤩♥️

This BTS was a masterpiece in itself. I’m very happy that she got the recognition she deserved for making it. 👏🏻🎊💯🤗🎉
I don't know what is normal among directors, but I was impressed by how much positive feedback she gave to everyone on the set.
i'm guessing this isn't typical given taylor's personality. ❤
i love that she give the actors some space to give idea and being creative! you can see on the short filem that the actors actually love what they do.
that's classic classy class act taylor! ❤
So happy to see people giving Taylor a chance to show just how amazingly awesome she’s always been 😊 Enjoyed your reaction!

Taylor's last quote made me think of you picking up on the video where she's shutting off the warm light, left the cold light on before heading to the reading.
I genuinely get so excited to see a new Taylor video on your channel. I love watching people fall down the taytay rabbit hole.

I need a full length film from Taylor
Taylor look like a mother and Dylan her child, and Sadie his girlfriend
Love that😂❤️❤️❤️
Your entusiam about recording and editing is so awesome. Just like Taylor is so clear when explaining, so are you. Thanks for another great video.
indeed thank you!!❤😊
“3…2…1…KIGHGHHSSS!!!!” killer me 😂
I've been binge-watching all these reaction videos all day. I love how you pick up on easter eggs. You're slowly becoming a swiftie🤭🤍

She owns a production company, called Taylor Swift Productions, actually.

Taylor is so involved as it is the story of Her life

This is so awsome....bravo Taylor❤❤

Thank you so much for your passion ❤❤❤❤

i love your videosss😼 i edit stuff in after effects for fun but i want to learn how to do it professionally
Do you guys think that Jake actually made a joke about his foot? Or Taylor just made it up hahahaha
I actually think Taylor was taking a shot at Jake as in "he put his foot in it".
Please do doja cat demons!
(which we will probably do either way)
it is crystal clear how deeply personal her work is for her, she pours so much of herself into everything and seems fearless (excuse the pun) in sharing her experiences with the whole world, be it her lyrics or the visuals that go with them... the way she keeps on clutching her chest upon seeing sadie act some of the scenes is really spelling out how emotional and personal it is which actually makes me think that she just took her memories and recreated them exactly on film only adding in the use of light and craft of recording/editing all of that together
i agree, even the bts is telling a story it is as if taylor can not ever stop making use of her talent and craft, the voice over at the end is so deeply offensive in the best possible way
i as others already did (actually might have done that under the initial reaction myself as well) would highly recommend the directors on directors episode with her it definetly is quite long but she talks about her vision there and approach to making the film in depth
as well as the tiff talk (that i am quite sure i recommended before ahaha) on your own (if you havent had enough of the masterpiece that the atw short film is (which is impossible imo))
I love the recommendations especially with how in-depth her videos are and in which order I should be viewing them.. But I am a fan of her! I didn't know this much about her at first, so I am deep diving into the Swiftie territory!
Thank you for all this info!!! I agree with everything! Thank you for watching!
@@Videoeditorreacts yes we converted another person into a swiftie (always great to welcome new people) no but honestly i love watching a swiftie in the making apprciating the genius that Taylor is...
i agree with the demands for cardigan and willow and i bet you think about me for the next videos apparently you are about to move backwards in her discography which i think is something we can but don't have to stick to... anyways would love to see the bts included for every video (that has bts footage online)
i think i said it before but if you ever need context for lyrics the genius annotations are quite good and thouroughly most of the time or you could just ask the swifties in a community post or something, we are keen to explain things always...
