My daughter doesn’t like roasted turkey. I love turkey and found a pack of two turkey legs at Aldi. My husband wants meatloaf but my daughter doesn’t eat beef but she will eat ground turkey, so I’m making her turkey meatballs.🤷🏽♀️ Happy Thanksgiving!🦃 🙏🏾🙌🏽😋
I do add the cream of chicken soup to my dressing, along with one egg. And some green pepper in addition to what you showed. I love cabbage. Prefer to greens. I had a friend's mom she mixed both and it was the best i ever had! Now i make it that way when i make ox tails. Or neck bones. Yum TFS. Everyone is at different starting points. ❤
I make my cornbread from scratch and when I don’t have buttermilk I use vinegar in a cup of milk let it sit a few. I use 2 cups of cornmeal to 1 cup flour no sugar for my dressing cornbread, and make it normal like eggs and buttermilk. Take an iron skillet put oil at bottom and get it sizzling hot, then pour my batter. I also go ahead & seasoning to my cornbread like poultry or sage and everything else for my dressing, then I cook it . Not the veggies just dry seasoning. Then once done I add everything else. I crumble it up in a big bowl, and add everything else, I also use the onion, pepper, celery in mine also. This meals looks so good thanks for sharing, praying for everyone that God will Bless them during this season and they will have the best Christmas/ Thanksgiving ever.
You’d save so much more money making your cornbread from scratch and not wasting money on a packet mix - the ingredients needed are so simple and can be put together so quickly as they’re just basic baking supplies you’d already have except maybe the cornmeal - but once you’ve purchased a bag of that you can make so much more cornbread than one pack of jiffy can provide Here’s the recipe I use: DRY INGREDIENTS 1 cup all-purpose plain flour 1 1/4 cup yellow cornmeal 1/2 cup sugar 1 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons baking powder Mix together WET INGREDIENTS 1/2 cup oil or unsalted melted butter 2 eggs whisked 1 and 1/4 cups milk Couple of splashes of golden syrup or similar product Mix together Then combine and allow to sit for a while to moisten the cornmeal Preheat oven then Bake at 392 F (200 celsius) for 20 mins It makes easily 15 cornbread muffins

I'm so glad I found your channel ❤ We eat turkey at Christmas, as Thanksgiving isn't a holiday we celebrate in my country. I make two types of stuffing at Christmas - sausage, apple and sage, and a breadcrumb-based sage stuffing. (Cornbread isn't a thing here, so I use white bread to make the crumbs) Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving ❤
Went to Tamale 🫔 Café ☕🙌🏿 🙌🏻 for Traditional Dinner now what im going to do with all my 1st ever oyster dressing , mashed buttery potatoes, 🧈 🦋, 🍗 turkey leg with collard greens. Its too much.
Everything looks amazing! Traditionally, we make it from scratch. We tend to keep cornmeal on a regular basis so thats a money saver for us. We don't use stuffing mix, and we add cream of chicken. It's pretty simple, but it's delicious. A few more spices as well. It started with my great grandma. I was fortunate to have her growing up. Now that i think about it, our family recipe is over 100 years old. Now I'm a grandmother. 😅 Wow. Time is shorter than you think.
@@VirtuousLady48 Thanks! It’s great to have those recipes passed down from generation to generation! Now you can teach your grand babies. Time is definitely short! I blinked and my kids went from tiny babies to teenagers 😁
Great video. This is my first watch so I don't know their names, but your jumper is extremely appreciative, lol! A few stabs of the fork to vent your pie, and a few sprinkles of cinnamon, and no apologies are needed for that perfect pie!
For that pie I would start with 1/4 cup peach juice, 1 Tblsp. butter and 1 Tblsp. corn starch wisk it up till smooth. Then add the rest of the peach juice, peaches and the amount of sugar you use. It will bind it a little and tighten up the juices. Something like that anyway. From a cooking elder. Good recipes though. I will try them.
Heyyy! I was looking forward to this video! Aldi is certainly helping with keeping prices low this season. Using things like extra-sharp cheddar, by the way, is great on a budget because the sharpness can be used to extend the flavor without the need for addition ingredients/spices. Also, for more food help people can call 211 and see which organizations have free giveaways. It's a great, nation-wide resource in the US on top of the places you've mentioned! Hope you and your family have a happy and fun Thanksgiving, Tish!

Hun, we use corn meal to make cornbread dressing. This year, I used stove top chicken. I added chicken for flavor. Good job. Now hun, save the drippings from your chicken to make a gravy rather than waste money on gravy packs.❤❤❤Looking at those prices, we need that store here.

Here’s the recipe I use:
DRY INGREDIENTS
1 cup all-purpose plain flour
1 1/4 cup yellow cornmeal
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
Mix together
WET INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup oil or unsalted melted butter
2 eggs whisked
1 and 1/4 cups milk
Couple of splashes of golden syrup or similar product
Mix together
Then combine and allow to sit for a while to moisten the cornmeal
Preheat oven then Bake at 392 F (200 celsius) for 20 mins
