"I have to cross Biscayne Bay" Dude your like a young Bob Hewes. I left Miami (a bit too crowed and crazy, 2014 to Panama City but still miss South Biscayne Bay, Ceasars Creek, Linderman Creek, the Arsenickers N. Key Largo. There was a Master ship wright who had a tug boat company on Miami River where I lived (Hardies Yatch Basin) for a while, Wes Hempstead, (Hempstead Towing) and another Ship wright, Red Hughes who recalked a 1957 Bahama Sloop I had in the 90's you have the same passion, different materials and more up to date purpose and focus but same passion. Fantastic. I have a 16.5 Hewes but if I ever replace it I would have to take a hard look you South Dade Skiff. P.S. If you all are down in Miami Dade especially around summer go to Fruit and Spice park Homestead Fl. very many exotic tropical fruits you never even heard of.
Outstanding video! I really enjoy listening to him talk about the design of the boat, and how it came to be. I enjoyed listening to him talking about the lamination process too. Most people don't know that not all fiberglass is the same. It varies greatly depending on the lamination process, and materials too. We don't see boats like this here where I live. We fish mostly rivers with a rocky bottom. So aluminum boats with jet drives are king around here. I really do appreciate videos like this. And you were asking great questions too. It's surprising how boaters wouldn't think of asking the questions you did. Thank you for making this video, and sharing it
How fun to take part the construction of your new toy. I know that feeling. Shaping my SUPs, Surfboards and Skateboard's and then being able to go out and test them was always an exciting time 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Felix Sabattis was also a Nascar and Indy Car owner since you were interested in how all this boat building came about. Thanks for sharing all the details that go into building your boat, why not opt for a 18 footer over the 16 better ride and more room? Have a nice holiday, can`t wait to see the finished product.
You are super lucky! Not many people get to build their boat! I would have loved to been there to build mine! I would have taken 2 weeks of vacation to be there.... lol
Can't wait to see what your new boat looks like and cannot wait until see what it looks like on the water too. also i hope you have a wonderful memorial day.
Do you have a date set for the maiden voyage on your new South Dade skiff? Can’t wait to see you catch your first snook, red fish or a salt flats bone fish off of the new 16’er!!! can’t wait to see the finished product. I know it’s going to be epic and I know you’re like a kid in the candy store or waiting on Christmas morning to open up your new presents!!! no skip emojis👌✌😝😝😝🤙
You know you're in South Miami Dade eating lychees and hearing peacocks calling in the background that's what we down here we eat our home grown mangos, avocados and lychees. Can't stand peacocks they are invasive bird that damages Our cars when they see their reflection.
