Join us in person for a Sunday service at 9:30amET at Grace Community Church located at Grace Farms (365 Lukes Wood Road New Canaan CT, 06840).
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

Lost everyone and everything. I cried out to God and Jesus Christ answered and saved me. It went from the worst day of my life to the absolute best day of my life. He made me a new creature in Christ and filled me with the Holy Spirit, now I have a relationship with the God of the Universe who created me. Im so thankful. Today I just read even the romans claimed their Greek gods spoke to them and how apparently we created religion to have hope for the future, don’t let this damage your faith but how is your faith so strong knowing this? @75 They can claim those "gods" spoke to them but there's no way for us to know that. We have evidence of Jesus' resurrection and know the Bible to be a historical narrative. I would say it is much more wise to believe Jesus, who rose from the dead, taught great ethics, did miracles, etc. etc. than someone who said "This entity said this to me" with no evidence. As for religion being created to give us hope for the future, yes, some people do use religion that way, but ultimately, Christianity is about following Christ, not a religion or church. In following Christ, you become a part of Christianity, but following Christianity without following Christ does you no favors. It's not about the religion, it's about Christ.

I think that I would have added one more thing to the answer Cliff gave to the engineering student. I would have said that if you are hearing God's calling to go and share the gospel then you should heed that voice. Sometimes the calling involves doing both.

I love the third guy asking a tough question for Christians. He believes, but his purpose isn't revealed to him yet.
All of us are tasked to go and make disciples of all nations, so that's something you can do either full time or part-time, but it will always be the main mission: Be fishers of men and lead them back to God using the gospel (good news of Christ). The Apostle preached tirelessly after Christ died, and some worked in between like Paul who was a tentmaker and whatever he earns he gives back to God by preaching and serving God's will.
Cliff classics shows a clear contrast of people before asking to understand the point.
Nowadays people will ask Cliffe just to say something.
But that's okay. A seed is planted when gospel is shared.

Gotta attack the framing of some of these questions. That question within the first 10 minutes basically amounted to something like - If you say you didn't steal that wallet, then why did you steal that wallet?
Perhaps the real issue these days is teaching people how to properly ask properly framed questions. Or having them practice and execute that. I've seen too many loaded questions, especially from the media to understand that there are ways to manipulate people with questions suited to one's personal agenda or view.

Hello my name is Justin and I'm a fellow Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college graduate. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't.
I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict.
Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers.

ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of macro Evolutionary biology whereas I accept micro Evolution like speciation and adaptation but not macro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word.
Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. If I'm reading the old man in the cap correctly, he's basically posing the question of truth in the sense of personal truth and objective truth. Basically, the "my truth" camp. He thinks that Cliffe is arguing personal truth rather than objective truth. He's using Cliffe's example of his own experience, thinking that Cliffe is saying that the truth is summed up by what he believes to be true. But Cliffe only brought up his experience as a signal that he's humbling himself and is only using what he has rather than what he doesn't have. Perhaps the problem there is how some people interpret someone saying, "In my experience...." Therein lies the disconnect. In this case, he's perceiving that Cliffe is acting like a know-it-all, or some self exalted authority figure. And how does he deal with that? He tries to knock him down from the pedestal. Hence the mocking of Cliffe not understanding his basic words. The problem? That's a strawman. Cliffe, from what I can tell, is not exalting himself.
But that is something to watch out for. When someone perceives you to act like a know-it-all, and at the same time, you gotta watch out for whether you are acting as such. Obviously, we'll fail at times. That's normal of this life in this fallen world. The out? Follow Jesus.

I think Cliffe grew over the years. He was pretty rough on the girl that judged him as if she knew him. He smashed the conversation but she knew she messed up when she said 'people like you' and he did not relent.
Talking about the evil origins, The Creator created EVERYTHING.
If it is lack of light, lack of goodness, or illegitimate use of gifts, it doesn't really matter.
It demands to be created to function, the method, de relation, the interaction, the law, the codes, and the processes.

Cliff missed it when he told the young college Believer to start acting like a Believer. Jesus said The Holy Spirit is our Comforter and Guide. Reading the word, listening to the Holy Spirit, walking with our Father, resting in the finished works Jesus did. (Our salvation which includes protection, wisdom, healing, etc.)

I have a question.
How can I worship the Lord without it being selfish for me, I don't want it to make me look selfish if I'm only worshipping God just so I can go to heaven.

You worship God because you love him not to get into heaven. You get into heaven by what Jesus done on the cross for you and him raising from the dead and through that you are saved through from faith. When you love God you start loving other people. Ask God to give you a heart that is others centered and not self centered. He will do that. It will be a process to take that selfishness out of the way but it will happen. Continue to pray and read the bible. Through time you will become more others centered not self centered
We don’t have religions with people, we have relationships.
Same with Christ Jesus, Jesus is a Person, “the Man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5), and fully GOD, “I AM” (John 8:58).
Don’t put your faith in religion, place your faith in Jesus Christ.

The number one definition for “good” is moral perfection, do you believe that someone can be “morally perfect.”
I don’t.
They best solution to stop evil things from happening is to begin with one’s own heart. The heart of every problem is the problem of the heart.
When I changed my mind to follow Jesus, He changed my stony heart into a new heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26) and gave me His Holy Spirit to live in me (1 Corinthians 6:19).
It was only then did I realize my motivation in life was self satisfaction. It wasn’t until I receive Jesus by placing my faith in Him that I realized it wasn’t about serving and living for myself but that it is far better to love to serve others as a far exceeding purpose for my life.
Can you and I truly begin to thwart what is evil now?
Sure.
But when you come into a personal relationship with the “good” LORD Jesus, it is then you have the ultimate standard of morality and are able to discern what evil actually is.
Without an objective standard of good to measure from, it’s nearly impossible to judge all that is evil, including starting with ourselves as man tends to have lower standards than GOD.
When we come to GOD and seek His forgiveness and seek His help, then we can truly understand how to help others.
Without GOD it is impossible to stop evil because the very problem of evil exists in every human heart.
It would be like a broke financial advisor or divorced marriage counselor trying to help you.
Any atheist, agnostic, Hindu, or Buddhist, etc., knows morality, what’s right from wrong, but without the ultimate solution which is Christ in your heart, the “good people” will always be slapping band aids on evil, when the true way to stop evil is to change the hearts of men, one heart at a time.

So stop Blaming God for Evil. it was Lucifer that started it all. Then God had to deal with Satan. Go read Job. The whole book is not about Job. It's about the conversation between God and Lucifer..

Can someone please give me some reasons as to why God is not answering my prayer. God does answer prayers. Sometimes the answer is wait, though. Then, with regards to the situations you've been in (though I don't know what they are), the best thing I can think of is keep praying and reading Scriptures to see what God might be trying to tell you. Hope this helps, and God bless.

I don’t think that gentleman was upset with Cliff, I think he’s upset with God and I hope Jesus and the Spirit softened his heart to receive what Cliff was saying.
Evil is not a person, place, or thing. You can't put it in a box, you can't have it over for dinner with the family, and you won't find it no matter how hard you look. The word "evil" functions as a categorizing descriptor. You can't put in it a box because it IS the box. Evil is not its own thing.
That distinction is important. God didn't create "THE evil". He only created a CATEGORY called "evil".
Gods laws are good but without God's laws but man's laws which go against God's laws that becomes evil but the way out back to the good is through jesus christ amen

In order to claim you're not a sinner, is to assume there is a standard of goodness, which requires that God exists. So, how "good" are you and how do you know? WHO or WHAT is the source of the standard you're appealing to?
@jessebryant9233 That is simply FALSE. To demonstrate that I am a sinner - someone who has transgressed upon a particular divine law - YOU must demonstrate there is such a divinity that has mandated such a law.

I've heard that question of why would God allow evil, which also means why would he allow free will, but thinking it through ... would mean that God was the worst kind of tyrant imaginable.
While I would never smack someone in the head in the atheist fantasy land, or worse, I would also never know love. I would just be an automaton living a zombie life with a zombie woman who God forced to be with me.
